Excuse me sir, but you're mistaken, it is of the 1977 year. I am an owner of a beautiful 1975 Honda CB400F> S/S,,,, I've owned it since it was 7 years old.......since, '82, it's all stock looking,,, I've installed electronic ignition, and added a chrome plastic stripe around the very edge of the gas tank. When I bought the bike it had a Shoei fairing on it, and the front turn signals were removed, rewelded... I've since removed that , put it back to normal...... I love this bike,,,,, but I don't wish to DIE with it. I've emailed, and called my buddy from over 30+ yrs ago, who said if I were to sell it, > He'd want to get 1st CHOICE.....maybe he's dead? I don't know, he/ his wife never answers, don't email me back, don't call me back........ so, I shall sell my beautiful "RACER RED" 1975 Honda CB400F> s/s,............. to someone who: MUST keep it stock, not "CHOP IT UP" / make it some type of cafe racer bullshit..........hell, > it was the "ORIGINAL" of that B/S,,,,,,,anyways!!!
Hi mate, i really do appreciate your comment, thanks a lot for that 👍👍 As I discussed with Adam above, I am honestly not quite sure about the model year of this bike... Due to the serial numbers, I guess that the frame and engine were produced in 1975, some other parts were probably taken from later models 😊 - not sure though... Love the fact that you built yours back to original 💚 and that you are looking for a buyer that will never destroy its genuine character by modding it! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll find someone who cherishes your bike and promises to keep it as it is 😉 Maybe someone on here is interested?!?! Cheers, take care & have a great evening
I bought a yellow one in 1983 from Fred Curry Motorcycles in Lee-on-the-Solent. It was my first 4 stroke, trading up from my Suzuki X7 GT250. I miss my 400 Four.
Hey Paul, thanks for the comment! I felt compelled to check, where in the UK Lee-on-the-Solent is located and I was surprised to see, that it is on the coast between Portsmouth and Southhampton. I travelled the south of England by car in 2019 and it was an unforgetable journey. My sister lives in Birmingham, I look forward to visiting her and her family in the UK soon again... @@KICKSTARTMotorcycleSquad Thank you for the comment KICKSTART. I'm now living just down the road in sunny (I wish) Stubbington. And, yes I do miss my 400 Four. Your video is very well shot and edited. It is really nice to watch and the bike is gorgeous. The music detracts from the quality, however, and it makes your clips less enjoyable. Please let the exhaust sound and your commentary be the only soundtrack when showing bikes being ridden. The 4 and 6 cylinders you feature have marvelous exhaust notes and it's too bad one can't hear anything.
Hi keds, thanks a lot for your comment as well as the compliment on editing, I do appreciate that 😊!! Since several other viewers gave similar feedback, I actually will consider to post the riding scenes without any music, but with raw audio and engine sound only in the future... Cheers, ride safely & best regards!
Great video, and a beautiful bike. But I’m pretty sure that is a 1975 example (based on the serial number at 3:08, and the fact that there were only three model years: 75-77). Also, that style of tank and the parakeet yellow paint with accent stripes were never offered together. By 1977 the tank filler was under a flush-mounted door, not a chrome cap like on this bike. Obviously this is a very well done restoration.
Hi Adam, thank you very much for your comment 💚👍 and for sharing your knowledge on the model series... 👍👍 I have to admit, that you are right 😊. Although the original paperwork for this bike shows, that it had obtained a registration in Germany for the very first time in the year 1978, the major "portion" of this motorcycle must have been manufactured in 1975 according to its frame number. The side panels were repainted, the "400 Four" logos / stickers on those were remodelled, printed and attached during the restoration, in order to give the bike an appearance as shown in a collectors brochure in 1977, which you can find at the bottom of the following article about the restoration process : www.youngtimerbikes.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=1590&p=6278#p6278... Therefore, it would be precise to say that it is a 1975 model which looks like a 1977 model... 😉 Much respect, thanks again & best regards from Germany... PS: your comment was the first one that helped me to correct the title of one of our videos, any help is greatly appreciated 😉😊👍👍

It's during my travels that I realized just how popular the 400Four is in the U.K. and Japan. The Japanese are NUTS about the bike and Re-sale values are through the roof!
@@flythenride Thanks a lot for your reply and best greetings to Canada, my friend!! Would love to come over for a vacation as soon as the pandemic ends... I can see why this bike is still so popular I consider it to be a unique piece of motorcycle history.
Nice video. I am also an owner of CB400FOUR and this video reminds me that the bike is beautiful and nice to ride.
Thank you very much for you comment & best greetings to Japan 👍
Best presentation I have watched so far on RUclips and have watched quite a few. 🇮🇪🏴🇬🇧
Hi Seán, thanks a lot for your comment as well as the compliment, which is highly appreciated!! We try our best and will keep improving the quality of our videos in the future. But still, this is just a hobby of my father and I, so there is no need to overcomplicate things ;-) Thanks for watching, stay tuned & greetings to Ireland / the UK!!
Great video! The CB400 Four was one of Honda's best - and that's saying something. I was trying to find one for many years and in the past month, I finally bought a good 1976 model in Parakeet Yellow. I'll be making make some videos as I finish the minor restoration I have planned.
Hi mate, thanks for you comment, glad to hear that you were able to find a nice specimen of this model, will check your channel for the restoration videos shortly ;-) Enjoy redoing and riding this bike, it is truely a pleasure!
@@KICKSTARTMotorcycleSquad Thanks! I'm loving this bike more all the time. So much so, that my first video on it is a tribute to the model. Here it is: ruclips.net/video/T_4vo8u-SgA/видео.html

Great bike. Awesome video!
Thanks a lot!! 👍
Lovely bike
Thanks mate, love it as well!! 😍
Had a red one. The exhaust sound at high rpm on hard acceleration was amazing
Love the red one as well ;-) Thx for your comment & have a great weekend!
Had blue 75 best small bore honda ever made. Great bike looked great ran great handled great. First real full street bike at 17 had many spirtbikes since it is still my favorite all time.
Thank you very much for your comment, I really do understand where you're coming from... absolute lovely bike, no matter which colour, glad to hear that you did never forget your blue one! Best regards from Germany & have a great weekend!!
Yes, I enjoyed watching this :)
Thx Günni!!
Nice vid , those waterfall exhaust pipes was unique and now I see them on the Cbr & Cb 650r /f models
Love the exhaust as well, timeless design...
A fantastic video about an iconic motorcycle.
I was gonna get one if these as my first big bike after passing my test. But Honda had switched over to the Super Dream, so I bought a 550K3 with the four pipes.
Always loved the 400 four though.
I like that you have given your bike the later paint job, Parakeet yellow just looks awesome as does your bike.
Thanx for sharing
Hello again, thanks for your comment, which is highly appreciated 👍👍. My first bike after getting my motorcycle license actually was a Honda CB550 Four K, which I rode for two years before switching to a Z1000ST and the ZRX1200R later on... Still love the 550 💚, love its 4-in-4 exhaust system 💚, the fuel tank 💚, the instruments 💚 and last but not least the saddle bags 💚, which are mounted on it... you can already see the bike in our Black Forest video, but I do plan to ride it more this year and will also present it in a video on the channel in more detail, so stay tuned 😉
@@KICKSTARTMotorcycleSquad I have a Honda 750 K7 with the four pipes. It’s been built about 10 yrs now and, funnily enough still gets awards at shows, god, I love riding that bike.
Will watch your Black Forrest video.
A great midrange bike
So true! Thx for you comment & cu
I am sure, you'll never forget upgrading to the 400F and you'll probably never stop missing it. I will never forget my first bike as well, which was a CB550F... Will love those classic Hondas forever. Cheers & take care
@@KICKSTARTMotorcycleSquad Thank you for the comment KICKSTART. I'm now living just down the road in sunny (I wish) Stubbington. And, yes I do miss my 400 Four. Even though shortly after buying it I rode to Marazion in Cornwall and left the heated handle bars grips switch on and flattened the battery 🙂
@@paulclarkson1778 Flattening the battey one time would not make me stop loving it as well ;-) Thanks a lot for this personal anecdote of yours, feedback like this is one of the the reasons why I make motorcycle videos and put them on RUclips. Cheers, greetings & a lot of love to sunny Stubbington from Murr / Germany!!
Well said!
The most honest motorcycle ever made.
Hi Arkas, great comment, couldn't agree more!! Thanks a lot, ride safely & have a nice evening!
@@KICKSTARTMotorcycleSquad Thank you, good evening to you too.
@@arkas6797 Thx mate!!
Awesome to watch and listen
I have exactly the same parakee yellow introduced in 1977 with a maroon model

Great bike. My mate had one in the early eighties. Somehow that yellow is the only colour that works on them. The red and blue ones just look bland, but I suppose they are just as much fun to ride.
Hi mate, thanks for your comment. I prefer the yellow paint as well ;-) makes it look extra special... Riding any colour of this model still is a great experience - for sure!
Top speed 175k as i remember not 150 ,check your bike there is something wrong !
Thanks for your comment, the bike was tested by a German motorcycle magazine back in 1975, the maximum speed realized was 156 km/h back then... I have not tested the topspeed of this model myself, therefore, it might possibly by as high as 175 km/h - as you pointed out... Ride safely & have a great day
it didnt have much more gettup than the 350 due to weight ratio more performance from the cb 350 just my opinion

From today's perspective I do appreciate both models, the 350 for its tiny 4-cylinder engine, its lightweight and its beautiful 4-in-4 exhaust system 😍. The 350's design also reminds me much more of my first motorcycle, a CB550 Four K... nevertheless, I love the flying banana as well. Cheers & best regards to the US
