    Ah, I understand why only 34 people got this ending. That’s one heck of heel turn to take after going through all the trouble to free Orpheus.

      To murder orpheus who called you his liege...thats really stupid.
      Especially since you know Vlaakith is evil and lied.
      And then hoping she will forgive and save you?
      YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON LEFT ALIVE WHO KNOWS THE TRUTH.
      You are 100% dead.
      You gotta be an idiot to make those choices.

    so let me get this straight: you have to side with voss to free orpheus, get the orphic hammer in baldur's gate, THEN, tell vlaakith you will KILL orpheus despite all you have done to try and free him, then, in the climax, FREE orpheus despite telling vlaakith you will kill him, THEN become illithid. And after all of that, kill orpheus and yourself in the end. This ending is wacko.

    • @Faverolles
      @Faverolles  2 месяца назад +52

      In this playthrough Lae'zel killed Voss early on, got the hammer to prevent anyone else from being able to free Orpheus, refused to let the Emperor kill Orpheus (as Vlaakith ordered Lae'zel to do it herself), then realized she couldn't kill Orpheus until she stopped the Grand Design, so she became illithid to save her people, then once she killed the netherbrain, she killed Orpheus. Having Vlaakith abandoning her even after saving the world and following her orders, she couldn't handle losing her purpose in life, and becoming the very thing she spent her whole life sworn to destroy.

      @@Faverolles That is an absolutely genius way to RP this. I've been trying to figure out a good, reasonable path to this ending myself as I'm currently doing a pro-Vlaakith Lae'zel run and this is as perfect as it gets.

    • @notgoodatthis6065

      Plus you have to be origin Laezel in the first place, and she's one of the rarest origins.
      I think you either had to try to set up the craziest heel turn possible for the run, or be running around with NO IDEA and just saying " yes i'll help you" to every single idea thrown at you.

    • @Faverolles
      @Faverolles  2 месяца назад +8

      I forgot about that 😂
      Really though, any character in any origin run or party composition could be a wild magic sorcerer, whereas for this ending, you have to be Lae'zel, you have to stay loyal to Vlaakith (while also getting the Orphic Hammer), and you have to become a mindflayer, and then choose to die. Two of the four dialogue choices lead to the next set of choices, and only one of those next three choices lead to Lae'zel dying.

      The other options all either lead to her killing herself, or to the regular mindflayer camp epilogue (sadly nothing specific to Lae'zel there, not even the egg was mentioned).
      As for the after-death scene, it also just leads to the regular mindflayer scene. Again, sadly, nothing specific to Lae'zel. Here's the scene if you haven't seen it

    Must be one of the dumbest and most illogical endings possible. Lae'zel is no genius, but she is smart enough not to let herself be consumed by an illithid tadpole ( unless played as an origin character by someone not proficient in any of the languages available in the game) if she can prevent it.

    • @Faverolles
      @Faverolles  2 месяца назад +19

      I think it's very fitting for the path you have to take to get it. Lae'zel stayed loyal to Vlaakith, made no friends to see the world differently, and killed Voss, so he couldn't help her. All she knew was Vlaakith, and her purpose was to serve Vlaakith and destroy illithid. After Vlaakith ordered her to kill Orpheus, and when she heard Raphael had a way to free orpheus, she had to take it away from him so no one else would have that power. In the end, in order to serve Vlaakith and save the githyanki, she had to become a mindflayer and temporarily team up with Orpheus. After defeating the netherbrain, having become the thing she hates most in this world, all she had left was her loyalty to Vlaakith, and when Vlaakith abandoned her even after killing Orpheus, she didn't think she had anything else to live for.
