Спасибо исполнителю, что не сделала глиссандо одним пальцем, а сыграла по-человечески! Браво.

She plays every key in that glissando, instead of dragging her knuckles like the rest if them. Wow!

Yes the advantage of small female fingers. I couldn't dream of doing that (yes I play Lotus Land_.

Why wouldn't larger, male hands be able to play the keys normally in place of the glissando? My hands probably fit that category, but I can't see why I wouldn't be able to play the notes the way Cristina Ortiz does.

When I play this piece, it's exactly how I play the glissando part as well. It sounds so much better and is a lot more comfortable for the fingers.

Notas contagiadas de Debussy y de Satie, esas brumas misteriosas, propias de personas intensas. Magnífica

La Ortíz plays this piece as no one before has done, a quiet storm, beautiful. She surpasses Scott's own playing of it... He seemed to be a bit distant from this early masterpiece. May it be that he came to that recording seeking to apply " discipline" to it? Adore so much the Cyril Scott advanced most of all composers for piano of his day. And Ms Ortíz, i salute you and send you love

You should listen to the original recording of Cyril Scott himself playing Lotus Land-DRASTICALLY different. She plays well but so far from what the composer played.

And? Music evolves esp coming from the greats - it doesn't diminish his original nor does the modern interpretation mean any less because its different in some way from the original - both should be welcomed and played. I prefer the moody ethereal air the slower tempo gives to be honest, feels more emotionally charged.

Cyril probably did some improv in his recording. Ive never seen any sheet music for anything other than what Christina played here.

Well that's interesting. How perspectives change.
How would Scott play it today, had he been alive?
