My Brother in law crashed XUV 500 on Delhi Agra Expressway in winter , He was with his cousin and very fast Suv crossed the lanes flipped twice and crossed the crash protectors and straight down the to the ditch (20 feet). Both guys came out with few broken bones (legs and hand). Once recovered from Hospital, he bought the same 500 but with changed color scheme. I drove that XUV for 5 days and i can tell you there is just no better package then Mahindra XUV 500. What you'll like:
    • A truly premium crossover. Nice build, quality & refinement levels
    • Great looking! Smart design has none of the usual Mahindra quirkiness
    • Cabin has enough space for 5. Quality-wise, the interior is more like a Hyundai
    • Fantastic engines. The petrol & diesel, both, offer fast performance & good driveability
    • A compliant ride with neutral road manners
    • 5-star NCAP rating & kit. 7 airbags, ESP, ABS, all-wheel disc brakes, TPMS, seatbelt reminders for all & more
    • Loaded to the gills with equipment (front parking sensors, sunroof, cruise control, auto headlamps & wipers etc)
    What you won't:
    • 257-liter boot is the smallest in the segment. There are cheaper hatchbacks which have a larger boot
    • Concerns over niggles in a freshly baked Mahindra.
    • Lack of a proper middle variant. W6 trim is simply too bare-bones, while W8 is expensive!
    • No automatic option in a market that is moving toward ATs
    • Mahindra's after-sales service quality is a hit or miss. Remains a gamble
    • Some important features missing (dead pedal, parcel tray, rear air-con, steering reach adjustment etc)

Great review - well done to the owner of this channel for the honest and professional presentation, however, two questions I'd like to pose regarding this Mahindra SUV - XUV300 W8 DIESEL version*
    1. Is the 5 star global NCAP safety rating really for SOUTH AFRICA / AFRICA or does it truly only apply to the Mahindra vehicles produced for the Indian market - something tells me that the South African version of this vehicle DOES NOT HAVE THESE FEATURES - knowing the South African car market, being as overpriced and underfeatured as it is, this wouldn't surprise me in the least if we as South African consumers were being dooped into believing that we are getting ACTIVE SAFETY Features in this vehicle, yet perhaps we are not after all - what does anyone else think about this - can anyone clarify why so many people are saying this South African Mahindra SUV XUV300 does NOT have these safety features as advertised after all - I really would like a definitive answer in order for my own peace of mind too!
    2. Is there anyone who can comment on what the after sales service and warranty coverage of Mahindra (the company's South African dealerships) is like in general? From what I've read ON HelloPeter, there seem to be many negative reviews? Can anyone else comment on if this is their experience too?
    * disclaimer - I am not a troll, nor do I wish to demean or create negative feelings about Mahindra as a brand - I realize their are MANY people who enjoy this brand of vehicle - I am simply trying to seek clarity about this vehicle, both for myself and other possible future prospective buyers - thank you! 😊

Because its based on Korean car Ssangyong tivoli. Korean cars usually have good looks. Mahindra just rebadged it, did some minor cosmetic changes, removed lots of features including good looking interior and gave an underpowered engine compared to the tivoli. We Indians always get inferior products from all car makers thats why we got easily impressed by the xuv300.

This Mahindra is a good car to buy no doubt. Other than the dated, easily staining interiors and low bootspace it's an out and out winner with the key being it's class leading performance, both in petrol and diesel.

A few days ago I saw a driver that I had with Uber several months ago driving erratically, brake checking people, flipping people off, trying to race a snow plow to a merge with a wall - the driver hit his brakes because he couldn’t make it and almost caused a pileup - and I reported him to Uber and Lyft. Lyft was easy to report to, I called them. Reporting to Uber was hella hard. I had to redownload the app because they don’t have a support number, I had to google how to find the report button since I wasn’t a passenger in the car with them, I had to file a request to speak to someone, and I didn’t get a message back for 3 days. I requested to speak to someone over the phone as I was busy, and then they messaged back a while later saying “we cannot call”. I don’t like Uber much, I feel their quality has gone downhill and the scandals are too much, but even this was just shocking. Reporting a dangerous driver on the road should not be so complicated as to be a 3 day process.

I wish to know Juliet or anyone else. If this car were to be damaged here in South Africa would Mahindra have body parts inside the country or would they have to import from India or maybe another country? I am wondering how cheap would it be to fix this car if it had a problem.

Great Review Juliet, I absolutely think that this would be an almost direct rival to the Suzuki Vitara, with regards to pricing, if the Mahindra Xuv300 came in auto it would be priced the same as the 1.6 vitara glx auto, I would still buy the vitara only because of the resale value as well as the dealership network

@@LukeIyer98 Yes ! Here in India also Suzuki sales in higher number because of its resale value . Mahindra has 4 varients of XUV 3oo Petrol (Manual) , Diesel(Manual) , Petrol(Automatic) , Diesel (Automatic) .

@@ayushmankar4100 we only get the petrol and diesel in manual, if the brand brought the auto here and did better marketing, people would buy them, it's got a very bad sales record in South Africa
