I'm going there later this year and I am so excited! I've been on cruises before but never to a carnival owned island. I cannot tell you how excited I am 😀
HI Matt the Rat, thanks for watching. There's a lot of debate about that. My personal opinion is that it should be pronounced as "key" with the exception of CocoCay since the "Cay" is actually part of their branding name.
Hi Blake, thanks for watching. Sure you can debate all you want. My opinion comes from the use of the words "key" or "cay" in reference to small islands, where it has been accepted to use pronunciation as "key" throughout history. Google it, quite interesting. If you cruise enough you'll hear it pronounced many different ways, but most, if not all crew members use the pronunciation as "key", again with the exception of CocoCay.
H John, thanks for watching. Yes, Carnival Corporation owns HAL, Princess their respective private destinations and several other cruise brands as well.
Where do folks keep their valuables (cash, credit card, ship pass card) while swimming / snorkeling on the beach? Thank you for this video - well done!
Hi apple7233, thanks for watching. Not really an issue of people touching others stuff on the beach. I would recommend to not bring anything of too much value. In fact, I usually leave my more expensive camera equipment back on the ship if I know I'll be away from it for a while.
@TalkingCruise thanks for making an easily found video on a place we'll be visiting soon. Wishing it was tomorrow, but I can pretend to be patient. Lol
Where on the ship and the island can I refill my water bottle? I noticed on my first cruise last month that the Lido had signs not to fill your personal bottles there however, I really don't want to use my bathroom sink. Great videos!
Hi Just Around the Bend, thanks for watching. I don't recall seeing dedicated water refilling machines like on other ships, but you can use a glass on lido to fill up your bottle.
I personally will not give Holland America Cruise Line another chance but the island looks nice. The t shirt vendors should silk screen right there in front of the visitors.
Hi Misty, thanks for watching. The tram is really for those taking excursions across the island and to and from the outdoor dining pavilion. You can hitch a ride if not too busy.
Hi Eric, thanks for watching. Call it what you want, but trust me that the proper naming is "key" for all of these private island destinations except Royal Caribbean's CocoCay, since the Cay is not a separate part of their name.
So passengers have to pay for the food? And the drink package doesn’t apply there? Well that’s a good reason why the island looks empty. Can’t even understand why people would walk any further away than the entrance because it all looks the same. Everything is extra. What a rip-off.
Hi Andrea, thanks for watching. Perhaps I wasn't clear in the video, guests only pay for food at the Lobster Shack, the buffet bbq is included. The drink package not being usable on the island is simply a cash grab and I don't agree with it.
So do you not get off at other ports that you have to pay separately? The island is drop dead gorgeous. It's probably one of my top three favorite ports. The island looks empty because this was shot during a really low passenger count time in cruising thanks to omicron and the increase in masking policies during that time. A ton of people on our January cruise cancelled. Also looks fairly early in the day. Sheesh. I do believe you're the first person I've ever seen that doesn't love this place. Maybe don't knock it till you've actually been there.
Have you ever enjoyed a day at Half Moon Cay? Let us know in the comments.
Love it! 🛳☀️🌴🌊
Loved it! We rented a cabana and it was worth the money. Especially if you have little ones and want to spend the whole day there
My favorite private island.
Hi lanimorgan2379, thanks for watching.

Hi Christie, thanks for watching. I hope you have a wonderful time. Half Moon Cay is beautiful.
Visited today! 08.29.2022. I loved the soft sand and water hues most 😍.
Hi D.E.E. DEE Eason, thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed a nice day at Half Moon Cay!
Looks amazing and I hope everybody have bless day
You too Fatimah!
Free cruise??? I'm in! 😂😂😂😂
Hi ciskoangrisani362, thanks for watching. No free cruise.
I always thought it was pronounced like Kay not key. Learn something new every day.
HI Matt the Rat, thanks for watching. There's a lot of debate about that. My personal opinion is that it should be pronounced as "key" with the exception of CocoCay since the "Cay" is actually part of their branding name.
@@TalkingCruise is this a debatable opinion? Why do you think its key?

@@TalkingCruise fair enough. Thanks for answering
Another great video of HA private island 👍
Thanks Eric, some similarities between Half Moon Cay and Ocean Cay, but Half Moon Cay is even more "natural" looking.
Great content btw.
Thanks ciskoangrisani362, I appreciate that!
actually carnival own Holland and they do own Half Moon Cay
H John, thanks for watching. Yes, Carnival Corporation owns HAL, Princess their respective private destinations and several other cruise brands as well.
Thanks for posting. It looks very relaxing.
Hi dwill123, thanks for watching. Half Moon Cay is one of the more serene and relaxing private destinations.
Great job Chris
Thanks Dan, without all of the hoopla seen on on other private destinations, it's a wonderful spot for just relaxing for the day.
Love that place!
Hi blessednettie69, thanks for watching.
Beautiful
Hi Mercedes, Half Moon Cay is beautiful and a nice place for some good relaxation.
@@TalkingCruise I haven't good yet thank you
The food that you had at the end of the video that’s also complementary from the ship ?
Hi albertcastro409, thanks for watching. Yes, the bbq lunch is included.
Technically Carnival Corp owns Half Moon Cay and Princess Cay . . .. you've done a nice video tour!
Hi Gail, thanks for watching. Glad you liked the video.

Thank you! What's the pricing on the massages?
Hi elisharoberts1029, thanks for watching. Sorry, don't remember pricing on island massages.
@TalkingCruise thanks for making an easily found video on a place we'll be visiting soon. Wishing it was tomorrow, but I can pretend to be patient. Lol
Is the complimentary BBQ also offered to Carnival Cruise passengers?
Hi Chrystal, thanks for watching. Yes, guests on Carnival ships also get complimentary island bbq.

Heading there in Feb 2023. How often do the tenders go back and forth to ship?
Hi Sandra, thanks for watching. Tenders are frequent all day long, not more than a 10-15 minute wait in either direction.
I wish carnival offered the HMC drink package 😞
Hi Brittany, thanks for watching. I believe that package is exclusive for HAL ships that visit Half moon Cay.
I personally will not give Holland America Cruise Line another chance but the island looks nice. The t shirt vendors should silk screen right there in front of the visitors.
Hi Thomas, thanks for watching. I liked the more rustic island vibe.
What is the temperature there in March
Hi Bonita, thanks for watching. You can expect high temps in the low 80s and lows around mid to high 60s.
Is it a cash , card, or cruise card that you can pay for food, drink, beverage package ???
Hi Dawn, thanks for watching. Everything will be charged to your room account. Only the vendor market accepts cash, plus tips for your bartenders. 😀
@@TalkingCruise thank you. Loved your video
What is your filming gear 🎥
Hi Tech Central, thanks for watching. I use several cameras and rigs including sony a7siii, sony nx80, GoPro and iPhone 13 pro max.
Tram service extra cost?
Hi Misty, thanks for watching. The tram is really for those taking excursions across the island and to and from the outdoor dining pavilion. You can hitch a ride if not too busy.
