Thanks. A few things I've picked up. The +/- on the right side of the screen will adjust forward range without having to go to the menu. You can also swipe down from top of the screen to adjust gain without having to go into the menu. Last thing I did was auto hide the bottom menu to create more screen space. Swipe up to access it.
Excellent video! I just got a live scope and have been pretty much lost the first couple of outings with it. I think this will be a game changer for me! Very helpful! Thanks, Matt!
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Great video. I am running Echo Map 93sv on the dash and trolling motor - not linked and that's my personal preference. You really pointed out what I think are the key factors in adjusting the livescope. I think I will purchase it now. I'm 72 and understanding all the technology and applying it is a chore sometimes but I think I can do it. Thanks.
This really help me out man I was having a lot of problems with my panoptix but this video was a ticket thanks a lot and I bought my home from Fishing Specialties because of your other videos thanks a lot
Thanks for the video, very helpful. Tonight was my first night out on the water with LiveScope & my new set up. So definitely looking for as much information as I can get. Your video answered a lot of questions.
Could you tell us about your livescope holders on either side of your boat and in detail about how they stow and deploy. Ours is on the trolling motor and is just not working as well for us especially in a breeze as strong as you were in. Thanks!

Thank you for all your helpful information. I have fished using an old Jon boat for 40 years. I recently was able to buy a new boat and I have the garmin live scope. Probably a stupid question but, since the live scope is mounted on my trolling motor, how do I know where the image actually is? Is it shooting a beam directly down? Or, does it depend on where the trolling motor is pointed? Or is the image looking forward? I know these are crazy questions but, I’m old and this technology is all new to me. Thank You.
@@WiredforCrappie thank you. I didn’t know that you could rotate the transducer. Once I learned that, it would say on the screen which was it was pointed. Thank you for your reply.
Man you just change my world I’ve been so flustered with my until. But now thank you, thank you, thank you. You have sent me on the road to success thank you so much for this video👍🏾😀
Thanks for your response. I look on the web site that you sent me but i count not find the mounts for the sides of your boat. They look like grab rails. Also when i went to the website all of the poles for the transducers say "NOT FOR LIVESCOPE". Can you help me with this. I really like your set up. Thanks Al
It is fishing specialties, the mounts are there rail mounting system. Keeps the deck clean and picks the pile up closet to your hand. I have a discount code for saving 10%. The code is wired.
So my question is this. I have the Echomap UHD 93SV but haven't gotten the panoptix yet. Hopefully the wife will get it for my birthday next month. With that said, I'm using the transducer that came with the UHD 93V. What are some things I can do with the settings to make it useful until I get the panoptics?
Tell us a bit about the pole mount you are using. I’m planning to get Livescope but I havent figured the mounting yet. Ultimately I want a be able to rotate 360 using a eletronic remot as well as deploying remote. (Basically what you can do with a trollingmotor today). I found a local company (Z-bait) and it looks like they have a remote to deploy the transducer and fold it out of the water - but rotation is still manual.
There are not many options for live scope. You can mount on troller if it is a scissor mount. I have a motor guide xi5 , unable to mount on troller because of how it retracts. I am using a 1 1/4 inch aluminum pole on a concoction of Scotty mount and claw. It is all manual and not very stable. Am currently designing an aluminum plate that will mount on my track with tube welded on top to slide in. There is an outfit from Australia has a decent design, but expensive
This is a very instructional video, thank you very much. I am a new livescope owner and this put several questions to rest. I am curious about your mount for the livescope transducer. Do you have some information to share about that?
Great footage! I have a livescope ice bundle. Can I adjust the depth and the range separately in a down mode? I tried but failed, every time I change the range, the depth will be changing too. Am I wrong or just the way this is designed, thank you.
I am from Quebec Canada. The species we fish is the speckled trout, the characteristic of this one is that it is held in less than 30 feet. The main technique to catch it is by trolling with a spoon followed by a hook with a worm. Of course it is quite rare with my Humminbird Mega Live G2N Si to distinguish these specimens even with the traditional sounder because as soon as one approaches them the shadow of the boat makes them flee immediately. In these circumstances if I acquire a Garmin GPSMAP 1222 with Panoptix Livescope System Touchscreen Chartplotter an investment of 4310 $ Canadian that can give me a certain advantage in the capture of this trout

Do all braid lines leave a trail like that? I think I like that. Some times its hard for me to find my jig on the screen. Good video, thanks for getting back to a lesson!
What’s up Larry! Long time no talk. Missed ya buddy. Yes all braid will leave a trail as long as the cone hits it. I like the line, but it does have some disadvantages. Still playing with it.
The reason braid can be seen is because there are air bubbles in the strands of fiber when first used. After staying in one place using the same rod with that line, you'll see a degradation of line visibility as water replaces the air bubbles within the braid. When moving to another spot, with line out of water, the braid begins to dry out so air bubbles reappear and the line can be seen more easily at your next stop. Then the cycle begins anew.
Great video. On my unit, when I approach a brush pile, it is just a blur at 30 ft. out and does not get very clear until it gets within 20 ft. or so. Do not know why, have seen a lot of videos with clear pics out to 40 ft. or more. Any ideas? I have tried different settings yours included.

Many thanks for the GREAT videos. I really enjoy them. I don't currently own a Garmin Live Scope but am looking at a lot of videos trying to get a better understanding of how they work. (2) It appears that the live scope screens are not that easy to see in the sunlight due to the glare factor. At the age of 74 my eyesight is not the best and I need all the help I can get viewing the screen. Why don't you guys fabricate some type of sun shade/hood over the unit to give it a little bit better visibility? (3) I notice that a (few) of the guys using live scope are using pedestals to raise the head units off the floor of the boat via a telescoping pole for closer viewing of the screen. What are the pros and cons of either keeping the head unit low near the floor instead of raising it up on a pedestal? Any input you could supply of these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John
How do you get rid of the on screen interface for livescope that shows a pause ⏸ button, ➕ and ➖ for depth, range and gain. Underneath all of that is Back, Nav info, Home, Mark, Menu which that's all I want to see.
