Why is the top and bottom half opaque?

That is called ground glass. I understand it is there in order to grab the cube with thumb and finger so you don't stain the transparent faces.

@@tinkerbit yeah, that's a good design choice. Mine are full cubes but smooth on all sides so things can get a little smudgy 😆

mopatin Gracias, yo cuando mire los baratos tardaban y los rápidos costaban, y en Amazon ya no quedaban.
En esa página he comprado prismas con anterioridad y tengo buenas experiencias, miraré a ver si encuentro un prisma tricroico solo, los 5 juntos son demasiados​ para mi.
