Woah woah woah…removing salivary glands completely would cause rapid tooth decay and digestive problems because you need saliva to protect your teeth and it’s enzymes to break down food before it hits the stomach. Our saliva has very important roles in our health! All of these doctors and surgeons involved should lose their licenses and maybe go to prison.

My mother is a narcissist, she dominated me till the age of 25, it was then I figured out that she toxic. No contact with her for years. Eventually she reached out to me, apologizing and asking for a relationship with me. I caved ams forgave her. I wanted my mother in my life. It wasn’t long before she showed her true colors, again. Long story short, I love my mother, but I don’t like her or her behavior towards me and others. Years ago someone said to me, “you are acting just like your mother” I replied, “that’s bc I am her daughter” It was then I realized a part of her lived inside of me 🤢 Therapy was helpful to overcome the trauma. My point is, GYPSY IS THE PRODUCT OF HER mother. She will need therapy for the rest of life.

Same here, my mother pretty much did the same to me except still into my 30s. I am now 32 and still live with her. ever since i became her carer 10 years ago she became more nasty and selfish and said everything is about her now and oh it was. I started this in my early 20s when i should be starting to have a life of my own so i transitioned from dependant to continue being dependant on her. She didn't allow me to do anything i wanted to or anything on my own and became really nasty if i didn't be this perfect carer doing everything she wanted and keeping the house pristine clean and all that. I really didn't wanna do it all but i felt obliged and feared if i objected and told her i wanted to stop or didn't want to in the first place i would be considered a horrible child/person so i kept doing it. its just in the recent 3 years that I was told the truth and that i should leave, so now I am doing what i can do move out. problem is i have very little money as I 've never had a job. she discouraged it

She also didn’t LET all of these medical procedures happen to her. She wasn’t allowed to say a word to doctors unless Deedee rehearsed what was going to be said with her. You guys are making it seem like a LITERAL CHILD is manipulating all the people around her when that’s not the case. SHE WAS A CHILD! She didn’t LET any of this happen to her it was forced upon her. The way you guys narrated this is pushing a narrative that Gypsy is just as guilty as Deedee.. that’s sickening.

I’m the child of a covert narcissist. There’s years of Complicated PTSD involved in such relationships, and I don’t doubt Gypsy knew DeeDee would chase her down no matter what she tried to do, just to regain control over her. She was impossibly infantilized by her mother, and it was obvious from her love of dressing up in costumes that allowed her to feel like someone else. As long as DeeDee was alive, Gypsy would’ve been under her thumb and her mother had all she needed to prove Gypsy was medically and mentally challenged, even changing her birth date to keep her underage. It made DeeDee feel important and needed, and gave her attention she obviously craved from others, not to mention all the money and freebies that came along with Gypsy’s “diagnosis”. Until you have lived under such a person as DeeDee, it’s very hard to understand why a girl would do such a thing to gain her freedom, though it ironically landed her in prison.

Doctors caught on, mom just went to different doctors. The first diagnosis of sleep apnea is hard to recreate in a clinical setting, and if a mother is telling you her kid has stopped breathing at night you error on the side to treat the child. Mom says the feeding tube now so you schedule a test. The next doctor looks at the fact the child was tested and treated for sleep apnea, so they continued treatment and she has a scheduled test on paper and tells new Dr she does need the tube, and mom is there to have the Dr do it. For the sake of the kid the Dr does the surgery. This just keeps happening.

I feel sorry for the fact she felt that the death of Dee Dee would free her, she said she hadn’t felt as free as the first day she went to prison. I feel really bad, she may have manipulated people but she learned it from her mother. She had no help, she felt that her mom was the only person she had. People are quick to say, “she should have asked for help”. They also forget that her mother bad-talked her father to her like he didn’t want her, but he and his wife wanted to see her so badly and be in her life. Her mother manipulated her, made sure that Gypsy knew she was the only one she has. Gave her surgeries to where she would HAVE to depend on her. I hope she can reverse what she learned and break a starting generational trauma. Munchausen by proxy is so scary.

Many people find her situation hard to grasp. but unless you’ve lived and been raised by an extremely narcissistic parent like DeeDee, you’ll never understand where Gypsy’s mind was. You are terrified 24/7. There’s a consistent, heavy fear that if you dare to leave, dare to even THINK of gettting away that they’ll manipulate their way back into your life and double down on their abuse. After all, you’ve watched said parent manipulate professionals time and time again. Also, due to the severe emotional and physical abuse, she showed signs of arrested development. Meaning her mind was very childlike. A childlike mind feeling adult desires. Chances are her mind was that of a Disney character, he was her prince. She wanted to fulfill the fairytale but lacked insight to the weight of her actions. She deserved punishment but she’s served her time. Gypsy was a victim that made a desperate decision, hands down.
And of course Gypsy called DeeDee her best friend, she’s ALL she had. Adapt and overcome.

This is a victim of abuse, from a master manipulator. She knew her situation, eventually at least, so she adapted. In order to escape crazy you act crazier than them sometimes. Or in gypsys case she found someone else that was also dealing with a lot of issues to do the dirty work for her. Once she knew he wasn’t safe either, the SA, she knew she had to get rid of him somehow, that’s why she tried to blame him at first. It’s hard to shake the habits you have been trained to use and studied your entire life. My mother was abusive too, not to this level, but the way I would escape harsh punishment was by considering absolutely every possible outcome of my actions and take the path that would keep her happy. Gypsy got tired of having to live that way so she took matters a bit farther than she should’ve. But desperation sadly can lead to such things. Takes a manipulator to make one.

Just FYI its not "the DSM-V" its DSM-5. The V is roman numeral.

    • @dormantlime215
      @dormantlime215 2 месяца назад +1

It is still frequently spoken aloud with the V, even by clinicians, as it is in many circles simply understood that V means 5. It really does not matter that much, it's borderline akin to arguing over how to pronounce tomato. Humans have a tendency to say things as they are written- beyond that, for a pop culture reference, V for Vendetta is a prime example. The characters name is V because he was held in room V (5) in an experimental medical facility before escaping and setting out for revenge.
It is the DSM-V, still, because V is just another way of saying 5.

I guess I cannot speculate about their marriage. Anytime they’re interviewed, it is usually surrounding some very uncomfortable topics. I know personally when I have to talk about my wrongdoings I get tense, and my body language changes. I don’t know what their relationship is like without a camera on them, so I don’t feel like I can say one way or another if there is unhealthy manipulation from either of them. I feel like I’ve seen her hold her own hands during other interviews, it could be a coping mechanism or a subconscious habit to need a hand to hold and squeeze when being questioned about anything, especially questions she knows are uncomfortable to answer. Who knows? It’s certainly not me.

She's been to jail and paid for her crimes. Can we not just leave the poor girl alone now.
    Was she manipulative? Yes.
    Was she a victim? Yes.
People can be two things at once. Let's be honest with a mother like she had there's going to be a lot of learned behaviour she'll have to overcome. She'll probably be in therapy for the rest of her life. If I was her I'd be looking to determine if there are grounds to sue the medical people involved - there was obviously no proof to some of her mothers claims about her health and a lot of those surgeries should never have been done.

I have compassion for Gypsy for her childhood. But I do not excuse what she did. Her eyes are full of manipulation. Guaranteed she has an affair with Ken and leaves her husband. Gypsy would of been better off going quietly into the night after her release, personally i feel that would show more remorse and humbleness. She is just not genuine, she needs a therapy.

I'm not about to condem Gypsy for soothing herself the way she did cause I will never know what that kind of betrayal is like and I'm not going to pretend like I do. I feel bad that she'll always have a constant reminder due to people's loud opinions.
