At first glance, that seems plausible. But does the story even offer enough content for more than one season? It's not like "orange is the new black" where you can basically drag out the original story endlessly.
She ratted out someone to get an early release for a three year bid of what looks like a very confortable prison accommodations. Why? Why would she do that? She should have been around long enough that doing something so stupid for little to no gain would only bring her to a violent early grave.
She was lucky that her unalive was relatively quick and painless compared to what they usually do to people like her.
Its really sad that her son had to lose both of his parents. Wherever he is, I hope the people that are raising him are able to break the cycle with his parents and prevent him from seeking to repeat their mistakes.

Don't take autonomy away from the parents. It is first and foremost their fault for choosing drugs over their children. It's an unfortunate situation, but you die how you live. Being involved in such things and ratting out other people in the game, when you are so well known, is never a good idea. Imagine, snitching in America can go very wrong for someone, but doing it in a country where narco violence is so rampant... it's a death sentence! Thankfully, no harm came to her son, because yeah, that's a thing too... not only do you put yourself at risk of retaliation, you put your whole family at risk.

I think we are all just so comfortable in our existence that it’s hard to image cultures like this existing in general.
