For those wondering about dump status - it's pending. Andrew's intention is to dump and release it. That said, this particular RTV-H unit has provided a few additional challenges that he hasn't encountered before. So it'll be worked on over the next month or so. Please follow his Twitter for updates as well! :)
Noice...
That's so lovely to hear! I can't wait for an audio rip of placeholder Goofy, it'll be incredible.
Andrew?! the piece of SHIT who NEVER give us fucking Dawn Of Man?! This cheapskate fellow is giving us ridiculous late builds of games already been RELEASED! What the hell! Fuck Andrew, I'm not downloading bullshit late builds from him. Give us Dawn Of Man Or Dollhouse(Sims prototype) already! Geez.
Phil Ramsey thanks for the troll!! 😂😂😂😂👍
@@philnone1004 mhm. riiiiight.
I like how you can hear Goofy's place holder seem reallly into that goofy accent at first, but then slowly give up as the lines go on
If they ever have to replace Goofy's current V.A (like they had to do for Minnie in 2019 due to Russi Taylor's passing. R.I.P Russi), this guy could be a good enough replacement.
He deserves a Emmy!!
Imagine being Goofy voice guy, thinking that your most embarrassing moment was a safe secret that would never be seen again. The one Saturday, you log on to RUclips, and this video appears...
at least it's better than the placeholder voice clips in LittleBigPlanet 3 which were like 90% Microsoft Sam reading out the lines
The guys I talked to have told me that they honestly find it funny that it came out
If they ever have to replace Goofy's current V.A (like they had to do for Minnie in 2019 due to Russi Taylor's passing. R.I.P Russi), this guy could be a good enough replacement.
i like how in the storyboard cutscene, the temp VA for goofy was doing a meh job atmost but the second it landed in-game it just fell apart so fast like he just gave up instantly
Holy shit, this is amazing! If you guys could find the original epic Mickey 1 builds, that would be incredible! The beta was VERY different with the hero/scrapper mechanics, the cut areas, bettleworx enemies, etc.
One of the maps seen here may have actually been from the first game, the map used to spawn blotlings is actually part of the Gremlin Village from Epic Mickey 1 and could have been a test map they just re-used for the sequel.
omg yes the scrapper Mickey mechanics were interesting
"Boundary Break eat your heart out." Shots fired on Shesez ! lol
I love Boundary Break!
Hard4Games you guys should collab on some beta stuff!

Bootleg Goofy sounds... surprisingly ok, I was expecting far worse... and then it got worse! Okay, I'm amazed
I don't they were the same voice actor.
@@dhgmrz17 they said that few people did the lines of Goofy during the development
The cutscene Goofy voice left me very underwhelmed, after all the buildup... but then came "Shy, Effeminate Cletus" Goofy
What an amazing discovery and treasure for us Epic Mickey fans! I really hope the dumping goes well and doesn't get problematic, because we would LOVE to datamine it! With all the prototypes, there sure is more to uncover.
The SFX for entering the TV was actually embed into the music for that IGC (In Game Cutscene)
I remember being intrigued by the concept art for Epic Mickey, but I never picked it up because I was disappointed when I heard the darker themes were toned back.
The game was never supposed to be that dark, the concept art for the dark epic mickey art is leaked and not supposed to be seen
It was only to see how far they could go
SlayCapCC That’s too bad then because it got a lot of people’s hopes up.
@@powergannon At the same time though the leaked concept art definitely helped to drum up interest for the game, otherwise I doubt even half the people who gave it a shot would have paid Epic Mickey any mind at all.
7:57 The extra voices are still in the files of the retail game, just of course not used
hi slayclap
To be honest, I thought that the stand-in for Prescott sounded funnier than the stand-in for Goofy. At least Goofy’s stand-in actually tried (though, it’s possible Prescott’s voice was undecided at the time).
Poor Goofy intern lol I love how it seemed like almost 3 different people were trying his voice haha I wonder if it was like an “underperforming challenge”. Get me better numbers this week Bob, or you’ll be voicing Goofy! Haha
What I noticed about Disc 3 is that it does already have (most of) the Mickey and Oswald lines done by Bret Iwan and Frank Welker, which means that they were brought in very early in the developping process.
Hey Epic Mickey modder here...
Someone found a way to change levels using the cmdline.txt file in bank 6
I'll go over what cmdline is cause I know a lot of people are going to be confused
cmdline.txt is the basic launch settings for Epic Mickey. Uses the same value format ConfigFiles.ini (though they have to be defined with -Set), but unlike it, it defines the first level that the game loads at the beginning of the file. This file is very useful for loading levels at boot.
Here is how cmdline.txt looks like:
Levels/Main_Menu.level -csg -binary -Set UseHostComm=false -Set UseHostCommScreenshots=false -Set PlayerDisplayLocation=false -wiiprofilermem 0 -nexusip 0.0.0.0 -Set PauseMenuEnabled=true -Set StartInMainMenu=false -Set WiiWristStrapShow=true -Set DisableAudio=false -Set RenderUseBatching=true -Set DisplayBuildVersionHUD=false -Set DisplayDebugTextHUD=false -Set ColorMipmapLevels=false -Set EnableRenderProfiling=false -Set UseDebugLineBatcher=false -Set DisableIGC=false -Set HUDDisplaySafeFrame=false -Set bShowHUD=true -Set PlayerEnableAllAbilities=false -Set SphericalHarmonicLightingDebug=false -Set WiiRemoteSleepTime=5 -Set DisplayDebugParticleText=false -Set UseSmallerDebugText=false -Set OutOfMemoryBoxOfDoom=false -Set DisplayAIMemoryInfo=false -Set MaximizeJigsawAIMemory=false -Set ApprenticeSkip=false -Set ShowDevLevelLoad=false -Set AudioAllowSpillover=false -Set GodModeOnPlayer=false
Now hopefully you understand what cmdline.txt is, I will go over how to change the level.
So there is a folder called packfiles, packfiles hold assets for the level (usually stored in a .nif or a .nif_wii file) and when cmdline calls for the specific packfile it will boot a level set in a .gsa config file.
Now how to change the level to a packfile is very easy, all you have to do it change the first part in cmdline.txt
(Levels/Main_Menu.level to Levels/Packfile goes here.level)
Once you have that set you will have to use a tool to replace the file to the modified file.
Hope I did a good job at explaining it.
The mickey mouse star head shows up when you paint all the rocks and everything around you as you walk to the last mirror.
This series needs more love
I didnt watch Epic Mickey for months and this happens how my favorite game goes by with beta prototypes pretty good
Who'da thunk Junction Point had "Goofy at home."
You can definitely tell which lines had more effort put into them.
The old health bar from the first game looked better, just saying.
Agreed
All of the UI looked better in the first...
@@sandwich_bubbles47 facts
This is so fascinating!! Epic Mickey 2 is one of my favorite childhood games so this is amazing to me!
Aw man this is definitely one of the most interesting beta videos I've seen yet. I loved the first section's differences in the voice effects.
14:07 It's cool seeing that Mickey's Speedway USA Cartridge to the right of the exit projector. I'm guessing that was removed before retail in order to avoid problems with Rareware/Microsoft
12:53 wasn't mentioned but its noticeable anyway, but all the background stuff are still on place, not moving at all or anything unlike retail everything is moving and rotating
That reference to "Kronenberg Oswald" reminded me of the leaked concept art for the first Epic Mickey, that looked like if H.R Geiger was asked to come up with concepts for a Disney game or movie.
Nice, looking forwards to playing this when they release.
Oh man those early stage sketches were super cool to see!
I'm sure someone else mentioned this but at 15:44 I find it very interesting that they reused one of the beginning areas from the first game as the test room. In a way it makes sense. In a way, it is a good general place to test NPCs but in a way, it's untextured and very (no pun intended) wasteland-type feel makes this feel like a cursed Epic Mickey at 3AM
Love the content, always have! Hope you guys are staying safe.
This game was my first coop platformer! This game was a part of my early life, so it’s nice to see some new developments from this forgotten series! #EpicMickeyisAwesome
Thank you so much for putting this together!
Please make a part 2 I love Epic Mickey so much and I'm so happy someone brought it up again.
16:11 Mickey: WOAAAAA
That brings back memories 😢
16:20 for all the Prescott thirsties (including me)
Even in the sketches he looks like a cutie pie, lol.
I never played the first Epic Mickey and only got a handful of hours into the 2nd one. But I always find these beta builds to be so interesting
Disc 3 of Epic Mickey is still more complete than the final retail version of Cyberpunk 2077.
I can tell you where that star outline of Mickey's head is used. In the area you get the brush you have to paint the star and comet shapes along the path to get it to show up
Time to make a epic Mickey iceberg list (seriously though I find it pretty interesting how A.B.E mentions the storm blot (concept of the blot)even though every single character just refers the final boss of the first game as “the blot” and it’s also pretty werid how he doesn’t refer to it as the blot since he guides you through every single diorama including the blot one
That's because apparently after the original concept for the Blot was scrapped, they gave the Blot we now know the nickname of the original version "Storm Blot" so A.B.E is actually just talking about the Blot from the end of EM1.
The star mickey can be seen in the first level after painting in all comets in the paint tutorial section and after thinning out the observatory window during the thinner section of the tutorial
Thanks Tony! I never played Epic Mickey 2 either (only the first one), but this was still a really interesting and fun look behind the scenes of the game =D At first I thought Goofy was a pretty good impression for someone who isn't a voice actor, but I wasn't prepared for that downward spiral XD
Notice how in Some of the discs that Mickey still has the blot dripping from him like how it was in epic Mickey one, they lost likely either scrapped it or just forgot to add it in the final version.
The director of the game said it was a memory issue due to EM2 using up more memory than EM1 did because of Oswald being an AI character/second player
5:08 Huh. This version of Gus kinda sounds more like he did in the first game.
*herrhoohereo* sounds

Es realmente interesante ver cómo fue el desarrollo de un vídeojuego se nota el esfuerzo que le metieron, buen video 👍🏽
the star mickey mouse is when you color in all the comets and stars when you enter the mirror.
At 6:30 Oh hey, it's a Lucky Emblem!
Also, Yen Sid is in this, so obvious question, how does this tie in to Kingdom Hearts?
@@rand21althor it doesn't, Epic Mickey is its own continuity.
@@rand21althor it only ties in through the fact that his name backwards is Disney.
@thorwilhelms9635 it was a joke.
Hey there! Sorry I know this was made 3 years ago but I was wondering if I could ask you a question regarding the first game? My question regards Prescott, it seem in the Beta they were planning on keeping Prescott in his original Blue outfit, do you happen to know why they changed it to purple? Seems a lot of his concept art had him wearing Blue. Also to add onto this question, do you think in the Epic Mickey Rebrush they’ll add to Prescotts character and make him purple to match his outfit in the second game?
Hi! Unfortunately I'm not super aware of why decisions were made or the history of the production, beyond what was discovered here/available online. Regarding the remake, who knows! Sometimes they like to retrofit color schemes and designs to later games. I guess we shall see. 😊
@@hard4games Thank you so much for the reply, and yes who knows. I had thought it was a mistake and that they completely remade an entire new character of Prescott for the second game and forgot they already made a version of him in the first. But after seeing that the Beta files actually had them using Prescotts original icon and design, as well as had his model blue in the beta, made me understand that they were still aware of Prescotts previous look and were continuing his story. Thank you again for the reply!
Gus was Yensid this whole time. This is the ultimate plot twist
Would love to see a collab with Shesez!
That'd be a ton of fun!
Fun fact: here in Germany it was calles Micky Epic. No idea why. (Micky is how we write Mickey's name, by the way)
Wow that's more betas than copies of the retail version that were bought!
They said Markus instead of jamface
Wow the world is a better place now that this is FOUND!! 🙄🙄
5:07 Mickey! You need to help us? ? sending you to a place? get the Brush?
those assets were textured but seem to have placeholder lighting data
"Boundary Break eat your heart out" 😂
now we need to find any epic Mickey 3 betas!if there even is ANY builds out there!
I need the music of this! I'd love to upload them!
The star Mickey is found after painting in all the meteors and stars after getting the brush
woooow Gus' message in the beginning of the game makes everything waaaaaay more scary holy shnickeys
Debug Mode Is Something I Wanted In The Final Version.
I love you guys, try to avoid dying and enjoy the rest of your day everyone! 💗
Epic
Sooooo I manage to find the 2 voice actors who did Goofy's place holder lines by complete accident lol
Who
its been years since ive played epic mickey 2, but im pretty sure that starry mickey head IS used in the first level but is slightly obscured
incredible find
SATURDAY!
One thing I must say about the concepts for epic mickey R.I.P storm blot the concept at almost came back in the third instalment at was cancelled
Also in all the early builds mickey has a very light shade of peach on the face and gloves mean while the actual games have white face and gloves
That's not true, ABE was talking about the real Blot from EM1 because the real Blot's nickname is the Storm Blot. The thing about the Oswald Blot being called the Storm Blot is a misunderstanding.
I loved this game
That placeholder voice acting sounds like some sh*tty fan dub
great game love it on my vita
The Epic mickey series had so much potential. The first game was ok, and could have just used some polish in some areas. Instead they decided to add a wonky team mechanic in the sequel instead of fine tuning everything from the first game.
I do kinda still wish a 3rd epic Mickey would happen, but I feel like they’d just mess it up again.
(Yes I know they also made a handheld game that was reviewed well enough and some considered it the em3, but I feel they should have another 3d game )
Epic Mickey 3 was going to be a rhythm game.

Epic Mickey stars is in the level
The moment i saw this, i was like.
*U WOT M8*
At 2:03 the calendar says may 30th and thats my birthday
I actually couldn't get the real release game to work right. It was a pretty big bummer.
I wonder why the Seer blotling was never used in the second game.
The stary mickey shows up if u paint the asteroids and the stars in the first level
I really want to play epic mickey 2 on windows 10 but its so annoying and nothing is working for me. Its heartbreaking because this game is my absolute childhood and its sad to see that its dying and getting left to rot.
Are they dumped? Because Mickey 2 is my fav game and i always wanted to play beta.

@@SlayCapCC Thanks! But i have a question. Is there an dev kit emulator or it just work on dolphin?
Jasiek22 Wii dev kit dumps should work on dolphin.
@@andrewe4075 could this ISO dump work on a real Wii?
Dash120z I’m not sure. I’m mailing the kit Monday to a friend in France who will extract the roms properly. So hopefully within a month everyone can try out all the builds :). I’d be curious to know if someone can emulate them on a retail console :)
The retail has some bugs it self I was in blot ally and got launched by a enemie into a building you should not be able to go on and was stuck then fell out the map and had to restart don’t know if it is only on the ps3 release of it it’s just a glitch on all versions
do you dump these .iso's and roms you find? if so do you make them public? if not, WHY?
ive been watching for a few years now and i must tip my hat to you, and your informative, entertaining content.
good work sir.
The goal is always yes 👍. This one is in progress
Any ideas as to why Junction Point went with Gamebryo as the engine for both games? Was it really the best choice?
Disc 1 mickey is more taller and slimmer than retail

have that with some beta game on it
Sorry if it says on video, but no patience, does it have debug symbols, guessing yes? :-) (or source code, but I suppose that would be in description)

@@SlayCapCC No, the issue is that dumping is kind of important. Not so sure about Wii but other consoles, not dumping but playing the content can overwrite potentially recoverable data.
why did they bother having four LEDs for disc numbers if you couldn't go up to 15? Why not start counting at 0?
For me is funny my copy of epic mickey 2 glitches are non existed the crash never happened all sound effects are in the game for some reason but you can tell epic mickey 2 was rushed
