You are Amazing...so darn helpful! is that you in the video because I swear I thought you were asain...the gentleness in your speach got me!....thank you so much for all your helpful advice!
Well done Sophie. Your videos are not just great but also an inspiration to me. Unfortunately i have no idea where i can buy these face paint supplies in Nigeria🇳🇬?
Thank you so much for your kind words. I fully understand your struggle because good face painting supplies are unfortunately not available in absolutely every country on the planet... What I would recommend is to contact some of the online shops that I listed under the video, for example the ones in the UK and in the USA and ask them if they would ship the supplies to your country and how much they would charge for it. I am sorry that I cannot give you some better advise. Good luck to you and take care! 🌈
I just almost binge watching your channel and I enjoyed it. I usually paint my face my friends and older cousins. Recently, I started painting faces of the children of the family. These tips comes in handy. Sometimes I feel that it is difficult to control the drawing on children face, especially if they move a lot. Can you tell me the most important advice in dealing with children? And sorry English is not my native language
No problem, your English is great. My advice in dealing with children - especially young ones - is to 1) paint fast (this comes with practice) because younger children don't have a lot of patience and 2) keep the design simple without any tiny details (you can make up for that by adding lots of glitter at the end). Also, try to get a high chair for them to sit at your level and - important! - one that enables their head to lay towards the back. If your chair is too low, you can add a cushion insert that goes all the way up to their head level. This helps a lot in stabilizing the head and get more stability to paint steady lines. Hope this helps! ☺️
Hello Sophie , I don’t know where I can reach you, so I’m writing you here. I’m Ksenia and I want to thank you so much that you have recommended me and my classes for French students. Thank you very very much ❣️🌸🌺💓
You are so welcome Ksenia, I have admired your work for years and I am in awe of your creations. I am quite sure that your face painting course is exceptional and I would have been so grateful to find it when I first started. We need to support one another in this little business 😉 All the best to you! 🧡
I should thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. I live in Germany (Bavaria) but I have also lived many years in the US and the UK. Originally I am French.
Thank you so much for this informative video! What brushes and sponges are an absolute necessity when starting out? I want to make sure I have everything I need! X
You are very welcome, I would say that a round brush #3 or #4 is the most useful and versatile brush you should get. Then, I would go for a filbert brush (to cover larger areas) and a 1/4 inch flat brush if you wish to use small split cakes. I would recommend to go for quality brushes and to get 3 or 4 of the round brush in order to have one for white, one for black, and one for all other colors + one as an extra. In terms of sponges, I would go with the regular yellow ones, 5 round sponges cut in halves should be enough for a start. Hope this helps and good luck to you! In case you are interested, I made another video about the basic kit for beginners. It is not recent but the content is still relevant.
Hi Diana, this is very difficult to answer because it depends on so many variables, for example how cheap and easily accessible are quality supplies where you live, how big - or small - a kit do you plan to start with. Also, you will need to think about a website, business cards, logo... (are you designing it yourself or hiring someone) + hosting. All these costs can vary dramatically not only depending on where you live but on what kind of investment you are wiling to make. If you want to be "serious"about this, I would in any case recommend to go for a kit and a website that look professional. That could get you bigger jobs at company events, which pay a lot more than birthday parties. The revenue aspect is not the most important factor here but still, if you are going to make a business out of it, you might as well enjoy getting well paid gigs. I currently have a video in the works about starting a face painting business. I hope to be able to post it within the next couple of months. Hope this helped a little bit in the meantime. Best of luck to you! 🤗
Snazaroo is not a brand that I use a lot, that's why. I only use their standard red for spiderman faces because it is easy to apply and to wash off. Otherwise I find the consistency a bit too hard (they crack easily when dry) and not pigmented enough. Some pearl colours are lovely but I prefer other brands. That's a matter of personal preference I guess.
Liebe Sophie. Vielen Dank für deine Arbeit, deine Tipps haben meinen Einstieg ziemlich professionell aussehen lassen :-)! Was hälst du eigentlich von Snazaroo Farben?
You can try but you might find that the bristles of a regular painting brush are often too soft, and also more expensive than face painting brushes. But worth the try if that's what you already have at home.

Hi Sophie l was wondering where can l get face paint in india bcuz it's very expensive online ( in dollars) so even if it's cheap to others it's really expensive ... Please try to provide me a link or smth love from lndia ❤️❤️
It depends what you are going for. If it's to paint a clown, then go for a thick and covering consistency (wax based) such as the white from Diamond FX for example. If however you are looking for a ghostly almost transparent white, choose a thiner consistency (glycerin based). Hope this helped answer your question.
