Been snowboarding for 3 years now. Learned almost everything from this channel. Thanks guys! PS: I still wear wrist guards. I work with my hands and a broken wrist would ruin me. Nothing wrong with wanting some extra protection even when you're experienced :)
hahahaha, i started snowboarding last season and this season went for 1 week snowboarding. But yeah the second day broke my wrist… i think i need these wrist guards too
I'm not a snowboarder but recently gotten hooked on snowboarding vids for some reason. I like your tips just a couple of things I noticed, I'd say the main reason you don't cover your face with the balaclava is due to the fact that you do not want moist of wet cotton touching your skin in winter conditions, there is a much higher chance of frostbite. And I'd also add that if you want to tighten the boots that you loosen them between runs to get propper bloodflow back. Love from Norway!
Nice video Kevin. I personally prefer to have the goggle straps over the helmet. I think this is the best option for beginners as they will fall often and will get snow on their goggles. It makes it much easier to take off the goggles to clean the lens if the straps are on the outside so they don't have to take off their helmet as well.
other tips, don't rest your googles on your helmet or forehead, figure out your binding stance before you get to the mountain, dress in layers vs big heavy gear
SnowboardProCamp also, if your gloves are on the short side, put your jacket inside the glove, and if your helmet has a goggle strap slot use that instead of putting the strap on the inside
TheLZempir3 both resting places tends to trap air which may lead to fogging, or may dampen the spongey areas that touch your face. im my experiences ive found it best to completely remove your goggles from your head. but with everything, your mileage may vary on the mountain :-)
i tend to drink a lot while snowboarding...last year i lost 3 pairs of goggles. I'm never taking them off my head again! Shout out to Spy goggles for never fogging on me.
one you forgot to mention in safety gear is a back protector. I often wear one of those when im not boarding with a backpack on. Not because it will help me if i fall. Its fairly unlikely to help being just on my back. But mostly against other people that dont know what they are doing. Ive on several occasions had people crash into my back just sitting on the mountain (yes i do check very well where i sit. I always choose a responsible place to do so). But some people think its funny to turn as close to snowboarders as possible, use you as racing pole or try to spray you with snow. If the fuck up, they crash into you. Definitely saved me some back pain.
Legir John me and my brother were snowboard just bellow our cottage and he fell no his left arm and then hit his right arm on the snow and hurt his right wrist but its because there wasn’t a lot of snow so he basically hit concret
I weigh 125 pounds have been riding snowboards by whole life. I use a 159 board and it works fine for me. I can glide through powder but also hit the park when I need to.
I’ve always experienced foot pain to the point that I would have my boots really loose to avoid pain and I just had to learn to snowboard with loose shoes but the lower part loose and the upper part tight was never an option in my mind. Gonna try that next time I’m at the slope. Thanks for the tips bro
Hey Kevin, do you any ways to stop your head from itching? I have itching problems with any kind of hats or beanies. However, when my hair is on the shorter side, the itch goes away, but when it's longer, it starts itching again? Any tricks?
I have overall snow pants so no snow ever goes up my jacket when I yard sale while skiing, but this year I'm doing snowboarding and I'm pumped, but it's only October
If you put the goggle strap under your helmet, where do you put them when you wanna take them off your face, leave them round your neck? If so wont that mean that you need to readjust the strap every time as it will move from the back of your head.
TheSpainy to me, its really fucking impractical, i wear the goggles on the outside + most helmets and goggles are curved the same way. so mostly, there isn't even a gap
I'm a beginner and have only snowboarded three times. I'm thinking about buying a snowboard, and I was wondering if you think it's a good investment. I usually go up to the mountains three or four times a year (I used to ski, but then found I loved snowboarding!) and plan to this year.
Currently I’m riding a 140 board on a dry slip however my weight suggests a board of 160 length. I couldn’t control a 145/150 board nevermind a 160. Would it make a difference up in the mountains on real snow. Thanks for the tips love your videos
Hey Kevin, I as just wondering what kind of pants you recommend/ wear when you snowboard? Also, I'm just curious, and this is strictly based off of opinion, but what brand of snowboard do you prefer? Are there any boards that have truly stood out to you? Thanks
I like mitts too. Do you have any tips about how to hold hands to avoid falling on thumbs or fingers. My sisters boyfriend is in patrol and noted that’s one of the main injuries
Hey Kevin, I am going snow boarding for the first time soon, but I'm not sure what side I will ride on and what foot to put first. Also, will it be fine to wear ski socks when wearing snowboard boots? I normally ski but my parents are finally letting me try snowboarding! Thanks x
Hi Kevin, your channel is fantastic. I am 43 (115KG weight) and from Bulgaria. Being a snowborder for a second year I enjoy the sport much more and getting better and better. I bought my personal equipment. The bindings are Head PX woman (XL size), price range 220 EUR (200 USD). The seller said that will not be a problem. I know it is funny, but the materials and the assembly looked very solid. I have watched many videos on what to buy, and at the end i bought bindings for a woman, but looking cool and solid. Is there any technical problem according to you?
Hey kevin, I was looking into buying the burton wheelie gig bag and my board's a 154. I heard i should size up a lot more like a 166 bag so that i can fit more stuff, what's your opinion on this?
Its really good explained - covering some "stupid" things that you can or imagine only as a newcomer. And this is why its worth for me ^^ Somebody telling all his "not forgotten" failures. Top!
Is there any help to that after few runs down the ski resort my boots's inside part goes always automatically to the side and is loose and not supportive, even tho I tighten it really snug???
I really enjoy your videos mate! I'm heading over to Big White for a month for the first time around start of Jan, been really studying your videos so I have somewhat of a head start!
Ben Varley its pretty similar but its more like longboarding, ur feet are far apart and its super smooth. Turning isnt really leaning like skateboarding u have to lift ur toe or heal to turn
Really recommend wrist guards. The first time I was snowboarding I fractured my wrist trying to catch myself when I fell backward. **also don't catch yourself when you fall
hi there, I'm from Europe, I live in Holland but there aren't any mauntains so we travell once a week in the year to Austria and almost everyone uses a helmet with some sort of strap on the back to put their goggles on so their don't fall off. so the goggles aren't under the helmet but on top
I've heard that snowboard size is also based on length from bottom to your chin or shoulder. Can u buy a board based on that or does it need to be by weight?
@SnowboardProCamp I'm 5''4, 80 lbs. I'm really under weight and I already got a board and I did the measurments and my board is about 10 inches to long. will that cause me any trouble snowboarding?
Determining the size of your board generally depends on your height, not weight. Your board should come roughly to the bottom of your chin when standing up straight
Another tip is to get a phone warmer pouch. One of my phones went from 100 to 0 in a few hours due to the cold. Now I have a warm phone pouch, that also keeps my phone dry if I happen to get snow in my pocketd
hey kevin, i love your videos! you're the reason i got good at snowboarding. but hey i was wondering could you make a advance snowboard gear tips and hacks?
good tips, i probably not following just a few of them - google under the mask.. not easy to put if off in this case. and using really thin balaclava with no cotton, just to stop the wind and helmet itself is warm enough for me
Btw you're doing the best "tutorials" for snowboarders. But i have to say that, i disagree with the glasses n helmet - smith's doing helmets and glasses and they fit together perfect without any air bubbles. And the helmets have protection for concussion too. Thank you for what you're doing...
I have a question my helmet has a strap in the back that holds my goggles in that case would I strap mine in and ride with them on the outside of my helmet or should I ignore it and put them underneath!
Mittens are best. Get some thin inner gloves that you can use with your phone to wear under the mittens. That way, you can do things with your fingers and not have your fingers get cold and the mittens will keep your fingers on colder days.
Never hurts to throw a map of the runs in your pocket too. Especially if you're new to a particular mountain. :)
Aaron Gokani awesome tip, thnx

Tips for the first day back snowboarding after a long break/off season?
+Toothy great idea! It can feel awkward being on a board again after a long break.
It might help people to talk about the "white ribbon of death" for those riding preseason.
He mentions it in one video i believe, ride the bunny hill a little bit to get used to the board again. and hit the knuckle instead of the ramp.
agree with the wrist guard. I lost my nerve on my wrist for a week when I first snowboard.
Legir John me and my brother were snowboard just bellow our cottage and he fell no his left arm and then hit his right arm on the snow and hurt his right wrist but its because there wasn’t a lot of snow so he basically hit concret
Such a good tip! Used them for my first weekends luckily because I hit hard! Saved my wrists
howa shido? I tried to stop on a icey area, and ended up going uphill a little and fell back, it didn’t feel to good for my right wrist

I noticed in your videos you never have a pack or camel back, what do you do for water while you're riding?
