Great value, i was lucky to find my Fern for 350eur in Germany almost like new and im very happy for that. Because companies like Steelcase, Haworth or Herman Miller overpriced their seats to the maximum because they know selling is continuing with any price. Its better to look after refubrished or second hand in good shape 👍

While building my home office I was going to buy a Herman Miller chair just like I had in my corporate office but came across this review. I won't lie I was very hesitant about buying a used chair but decided to pull the trigger and I'm so happy I did! This chair is super comfortable, the ergonomic are amazing to be able to customize it perfectly to your height and build. If you're considering this chair I can't recommend it enough. For size reference I am 5'5" and 140Ibs.

My SO ordered the lamia and received the Leap v2 instead. I was curious at how well the seat would feel. It is a fairly comfortable chair BUT it's not a high backed chair. At 6"3 I'm way too use to the upper back/lower shoulder support of a high backed chair and unfortunately this chair being so small it is a deal breaker for me. My SO at 5"9 says this chair is perfect and the lamia with the more cushy seat will be even better.

what is the best ergonomic chair with a footrest? I already know the general consensus for footrest chairs but I like to recline with my feetup to watch shows on my computer and still able to do work occasionally. I currently use a gaming chair with a footrest which is why any ergonomic chair would be an upgrade. Im also not that fancy and budget is around 500-700.
    Thanks.

As of yesterday I now have a Leap, an Embody and now a Humanscale Freedom. The Freedom is nice looking and very comfortable but the lowest build quality of the three. The Embody is still a good and okay chair depending on the day but noticeably better build quality than the Freedom. My Leap at the end of the day is still solid and build quality like a tank and the fabric just feels really good. I just don't like the Amia, every time I sit in one I never want one. My brother has a Leap and doesn't care for the Embody and didn't care for my Freedom or Fern either. I missed out on getting a rare Leap Worklounge this weekend, still bummed about that. I still don't miss my Fern. Steelcase arms are just the best, the Leap arms are S tier but the Gesture arms are S+ tier. I want a Leap with a Freedom headrest and Gesture arms and Embody recline. Man that would be an incredible chair. 🙏

Hey, I was looking to find the best chair under 500$ (best value but new). I brought it down to calamy atlas and eurotech vera. But calamy being half the price as vera, im leaning towards that.
I'm 5ft 10 and sit 8+ hrs on the chair in a day. I am currently getting lowerback pain above my butt.
Which one do you guys suggest out of both? (Also, i see that in the cheetsheet, the calamy kirin is ranked higher than atlas. But here in the best under 300 video, atlas is said to be best and said to compete for best under 500, can you clarify?
Btw, thanks for the consistent videos. Helped me a lot.

Are the Grade A cylinder and armpads covered in the warranty, Are there shipping fees involved in warranty replacements?

    • @hcdata4289
      @hcdata4289 4 месяца назад +2

I have bought two chairs from BTOD. Lamia and Ameap. My recommendation is go with the Grade A (used). They do put new arm pads on, but they are much stiffer than the original. BTOD kindly sent me an original set of arm pads and I swapped them over. I only realized this issue after buying the Lamia and then getting an Ameap about a month later. I have nothing but positives to say about BTOD both from a sales, shipping, and support standpoint. I switch back and forth between the Ameap and Lamia every few days - I have found this prevents me from forming bad habits. This was an issue I had with my Herman Miller Mirra.

@@saidchammas I am by no means experienced in computer chairs as the folks here at BTOD and have had a number of budget (under $200) chairs. I am still dealing with upper midback pain as I work from home and sit/stand throughout the day. My experiences thus far with the Atlas is good so far but unable to determine how I truly like it since it has only been 5 days.
This refurbished Ameap will be considered as I am able to return the Atlas if need be. I know it surpasses the Atlas chair cost however, I am optimistic as Steelcase is highly regarded and the history and R&D far surpasses a Chinese company - Colamy.

@@btodtv Greg I am not made of money, man! I'm sitting on a Sihoo M57 right now, surely a Series 2 is a decent upgrade from that? The chair in this video was created to be an affordable option so that people don't have to get a Series 1, Series 2, or a brand new Amia for $1,000. We also have a ton of content on lower priced chairs so the suggestion that we don't cater to people with a lower budget seems off base to me. -Ryan

@@btodtvIt’s more that your opinions come from the place of “I’ve sat on chairs for a living for years”. You don’t really make those videos from the perspective of a new chair buyer. You don’t know that process, the experience of finding something and perhaps the mistakes people make. You can call it off base all you like; I’m a viewer, and I’m telling YOU that you’re off base. I’m not interested about the refurbished chairs you sell in the US.
It’s the same as a professor trying to explain something to a student. The professor doesn’t know what it’s like to be new to that world, and what it’s like to learn, as it was so long ago. You’d do well to actually reach out to viewers and customers and learn more about the user journey. How did they find you? Why did they find you? What products have they tried? How can we create content that makes that process easier? Rather than clickbait videos like this or tier list garbage.
Free advice for you. But I won’t be around to see whether you take it seriously or not. Hubris brings everyone down eventually!

Of course our opinions come off as that. Thats how any expert in any field is going to speak. You are upset with us because your price range doesn't allow for a chair that meets your standards. Instead of addressing the actual problem, you attack us. We've made an extensive amount of content on low priced chairs and have done all of those things you suggest. You simply don't want to do the research or testing to find the diamond in the rough you are searching for and you want us to find you a chair that almost certainly doesn't exist. -Ryan
