- This video delves into the details of the Diana Ross & The Supremes hit song "Someday We'll Be Together". The song was the last #1 hit on both the R&B and Pop charts to end the 1960s, and also the first #1 song on both the R&B and Pop charts to begin the 1970s. The video also discusses the hidden figure that performed on the song that most people aren't aware of. As a bonus, we discuss who Berry Gordy initially had in mind to replace Diana Ross when she left the group.
Wow! Good stuff! 👍
Thank you! 😀
The backing by someday we'll be together was Motown's house backing group the Andantes but suprisly former marvelette Wanda young was part of that.
Diana Ross and the Endantes on background vocals; not The Supremes Mary & Cindy on Someday We'll Be Together
Didn't they stop singing on the the songs in 67-68
Yes...so cynical.
Someday We'll Be Together was offered to Jr.Walker but he turned it down.
Probably for the best.
@@direfranchement I couldn't imagine him singing that song anyway just like "What Does It Takes To Win Your Love" but the song did go number one on the r&b charts.
