@@MagaliVaz well the natives speak Kokani, English, Portuguese is not used daily convo but is taught in some schools.
Hindi , Marathi are spoken by outsiders who are not Goan.
Did I say spoken by Goans? No. I said spoken in the state. Indians are free to move and settle anywhere in India or even migrate abroad, just as Goans are settling in UK and elsewhere. So yes, the phrasing in my video is correct, it is one of the major languages spoken here but surely not the only language other than English 🤣 take your ethnocratic beliefs elsewhere, thanks!
@@MagaliVaz wow you have no respect for your roots. Goan culture is at its extinction because all outsiders are settling here , running businesses.
That's the reason why Goans are migrating to other countries.
@@beebop3519 I have immense respect for my roots, which doesn't have to be proven to someone without their name or face on their profile. If you have pride in your roots, why not fully stand behind your words? Bhitru 🤣
I have faith that our culture will prevail, it's not so fragile that a few people coming in will cause it's extinction. If you don't like outsiders setting up businesses here, simply don't patronise them.
So i speak antruji

It's "Abhar"
that's hindi though.
@@MagaliVaz na go..Abhari is originally a "prakrut" word..used in our local languages such as marathi , kannada, centuries before even Hindi was evolved .. Yes it's Hindi ..but "prakrut" language which have this word origanated from Sanskrit are way older than Hindi..!
N as it's marathi ..it could be used in konkani..8 could be wrong...but marathi and konkani are like sisters...they have similarities...
Yeah you're not wrong, they're quite similar and there's a lot of overlap but I do not know of abhar being used in any dialect of konkani, anyone reading this can surely jump in and tell me if I'm right or wrong (cos admittedly my own knowledge is limited).
@@MagaliVaz iny view...no one can be 100% correct or wrong about things such as culture, language etc.
The linguistic variations are subtle over adjacent regions but very distinct in farthest regions..
For a maharashtrian who lived across Goa, maharashtra, Gujarat the subtle changes are visible n hence I see these languages like sisters...very similar yet have own distinct features...
It's also very interesting to observe Portuguese influence on Konkani and the language becomes even more charismatic..!!

Have you ever heard of Serbs?
Like from the Balkans?
@@MagaliVaz Yes,i heard alot of rumors that elderly people from Goa can understand basic Serbian.
@@igor7195 no idea, definitely not in my side of Goa. Have seen shops and locals sometimes learn Russian as I guess they're the biggest amount of non Indian tourists that come to Goa.
There is a village near Old Goa called Gandaulim which was colonized by the Croatians. 🇭🇷
