I've never attempted to do upholstery. Certainly better than it was and I always like the look of hardware showing.
However, I'd be inclined to run a bunch more screws in the gaps around the periphery of the pleather (plastic leather) so it has more "pinch" onto the fabric and won't try to tear out from underneath as you're scooching around.
Just a thought.

That's a good idea. I was hoping the boarder would be rigid enough to pinch the fabric, but it's not unfortunately.
