Hello everyone. I am delighted to let you all know about this episode of The Empowering Neurologist. We discuss fundamentally important new book, The Autoimmune Cure, by one of my dearest friends on the planet, New York Times bestselling author, Dr. Sara Gottfried.
In this interview, Dr. Gottfried enlightens us as to what is really underlying the vast array of autoimmune conditions. Yes, we do get into the weeds, but the information she provides is not just fascinating, but fully empowering as well. Prepare to be enlightened as she sheds light on how trauma can intricately rewire our bodies, ultimately becoming the catalyst for autoimmune diseases. With a prevalence that's skyrocketing globally, autoimmune conditions affect millions, yet the root cause often remains elusive.
Conventional medicine's approach often falls short in effectively diagnosing and treating autoimmune disorders. Many individuals grapple with baffling symptoms ranging from fatigue to brain fog, from aches and pains to anxiety, unaware that their immune system is the culprit behind their distress. Drawing from her wealth of experience in precision medicine, Dr. Gottfried has uncovered a compelling correlation between autoimmune disease and a history of trauma, a revelation that's shaping the future of autoimmune care.
But here's the exciting and empowering part-there's hope. Dr. Gottfried's revolutionary program outlined in he Autoimmune Cure offers a beacon of hope for those navigating the treacherous waters of autoimmune ailments. By addressing the root cause head-on and providing a comprehensive roadmap to reset the immune system, this program empowers individuals to reclaim their health and vitality.
During our podcast episode, Dr. Gottfried unpacks the key pillars of her transformative program, including:
    • Diet: Unveiling the power of nutrition in healing autoimmune conditions.

This ticked so many boxes for me. I showed signs of MS soon after a divorce, employment termination and moving house with two small kids in a 6 month period. At this time my diet was a disaster, fast gaining weight and so stressed. Diagnoses of MS finally came about 12 years later. I can totally relate to all subjects discussed today. Doing much better now with MS meds, keto diet and IF.

My body has stolen my dreams and I hate it because of it .I have tried six ways to Sunday to fix this ,my mother has it too and her dreams were ruined and she has tried to help herself and me thousands of dollars .At this point I cannot afford a full work up w a functional dr who doesn’t take insurance .How do you help yourself when it’s too much to even stand up ? I think of Whitney Dafoe of California who is bedridden and cannot even talk .Im not that bad but bad enough to be married to my bed .All my life ,decades

How CAN we uptake our nitrous oxide to get to the cell... to heal at the cellular level when we have a autoimmune illness?? Take nitrous oxide tablets? OR what is something we can do to heal physically at the cellular level.... I know dis"ease" is multifaceted and that in order to truly heal we need a 3 dimensional approach of body, mind & spirit. Naysayers...don't get sidetracked by your negativity that you miss the pearls of wisdom.....negativity contributes to dis"ease". LOVE Dr. Gottfried's eyeglasses...would love to know brand to buy :-), beautiful eyes, skin & smile. Dr. Perlmutter..always a joy and easy to listen to, professional, kind, compassionate, humble, encouraging, builds people up. Very glad I listened.

Retired Air Force Medical Service Corps Officer here - May I suggest to Dr Gottfried to perhaps better summarize main points for interviews. Dr Perlmutter has consistently shown this clear focus in his podcasts. Thanks

excellent discussion from both wise MD's who are continually learning new ways to look at autoimmune disease. I love that it always comes down to lifestyle and diet as the ground work and look at ways to support the body medically, physically and spiritually.

Thank you Dr. Perlmutter for dressing modestly. I don't care how smart or knowledgeable someone is, especially when they're female, actually it only seems to be practiced by females, it's just so disappointing when they don't dress professionally. I know immodest dress is accepted in our culture, but that doesn't make it right. Glad y'all enjoyed your online date.

WTF? Do you realize how shallow you come off? Don't you have any interest in their research, merely the way they dress?
