Mrs. Franklin was born to sing, it was undoubtedly what the Lord had planned for her life, and I am grateful I had the opportunity to listen to her sing and play, it is a generational thing. Her interpretations of a lyrics and music were stellar, unique and inspiring. In my house, see is and will be missed until the day I am only a memory to the one's I love. Thank you Queen of a multitude of genres in music, you are appreciated and missed.
Ms Franklin was an icon when I was in Vietnam in 1968-69, Her songs lifted the brother's spirits, we were in a war that had no rhyme nor reason. They were trying to do genocide on us Black men because all of the turbulence across the nation in the 60s when we were being drafted in a higher ratio. It was great to hear Ms Franklin's voice on our transistor radios. Sure miss her.
That was a great analysis and u r exactly right she knew all the intricacies of the art of how to navigate the chords and what chord would b related more to the chord that she's moving from unto the next chord moving forward to while still not disturbing the melody. Aretha most definitely knew formulas that would assist her n her playing skills. While her vocals unfortunately didn't stand the test of time as well as her piano playing did. From yrs of smoking. Although aretha had stopped smoking n 1992 26yrs b4 her death. Unfortunately her yrs of smoking since her early teen yrs had took habit on her beautiful voice along inconjuction with medications she was on after being diagnosed with pancretic cancer. As u.can.hear whenever aretha goes up n notes.with.her voice. Her voice thins out and resigns n2 a falsetto. unlike n her hey day when she could go up there n her full nature voice. Listen to bridge over trouble water and u will hear what i mean how when her range could go higher and she still b singing n her nature. Or go listen to her sing ain't no way from back n the days and how she go up n full nature range 2the bridge of that song. N her later yrs her vocals couldn't nolonger accomodate that song n.the same.matter It had done b4 1992. Aretha had to resign to her falsetto cause she could nolonger sing that high n her natural range. Patti Labelle is having the same vocal issue now as well. Them vocal folds starts to deteriorate as one get older. It's a normal progression. But I love myself some aretha. It will always b aretha 4me. I digress.
You would be surprised how many people don't love Aretha. But they are the ones with the problem. I am a fan of LadySoul and would get upset and sometimes angry with others who don't share my love for her music. With age I've learned to let people have their own opinions. Forever the Queen.
My only regret that I never got a chance to see her performance live. I can only imagine the feeling of being there and watching her singing. Just beautiful and greatness. always will love you my Queen of Soul.
My parents saw her in Vegas before she made it really big (mid to early 60s.) My mother became an instant fan, and so I grew up with Aretha my entire life. Weird for a little Polish kid from NE Mpls at the time. I am so happy for this...
I saw her in Durham NC. I was going thru a bad situation and called ticket Master to cancel my ticket, when I got into performing art center, I felt her soulful spirit. I left delivered and burden free. She was very nice and she talked to many of us.
Miss Aretha -Is there anyone better than the Queen of Soul singing and accompanying herself on piano. Most people don’t know what an accomplished player she was. She went to Juliard every year to keep/ improve her playing.
@ Martin G yes, yes, yes indeed...and that's what a real gentleman does...he respected & treated her like the beautiful classy lady she was...The Queen of Soul. This was no nice, she never disappointed.
@@achosenvessel6563 THAT AIN'T NO LIE!!! And as I think about it, with all the heartaches and adversities that she faced, she was just a STRONG woman her entire life!
One of my favorite performances of Aretha's in the 2010's eras of her voice. A beautiful reading. I hope she gets to enjoy her retirement. She has brought me joy every time she opened her mouth to sing. Just a beautiful talent.
I just love this song! I don't know how I've never heard it before. I find myself sitting here after hearing of her passing this morning, playing her music and watching her various performances. What talent she had. She will be so missed. We love you Aretha, Queen of Soul...
This song make me think about Psalms 90:9 & 10 wish she could have been around for another 10 years but like she said been in the music industry for over 50 years paid her dues too soon much love and respect for The Queen of Soul👑👸!!
Majestic and understated. Only Queen Aretha can take a chestnut from the sixties and make it current and relevant to today's music scene. Well done, Aretha! Your voice gets richer with each year.
Mrs. Aretha Franklin will be truly missed; praying for her family and friends... May the God of comfort, strength, healing and LOVE in time mend their broken hearts ♥️... 💐🙌🏾❤️🙏🏾
Wonderful song by Harvey Schmidt (music) and Tom Jones (lyrics). Nice performance by Aretha Franklin and all the other musicians. Thank you for posting this video, Buzz Stephens. And last but not least: Rest in peace Mr. Schmidt (1929-2018)
Is about time that our generation have to learn to sing and bring joy to our hearts now that the queen of soul has left us. We want to hear good songs, not showing their artificial body to sell their songs,Beauty is what comes inside of you not outside. With Aretha she has the natural beauty both inside and outside that make her greatest off all time. RIP 🛏Queen of Queen’s
I miss you so much Queen. I can imagine you and your family reunited in the great somewhere. I'm sure you rollerskating and having a ball with your mom and dad.
My idol my queen Up there with Jesus I cry forgetting I'll see you when I get up there to the glory land every note I song is in honor of you I love you your voice is the definition to POWER LOVE YOURS TRUELY SEAN MISTRO MARTIN
My, my...this song sung by the late "Queen" just warmth my heart/soul. That, I play it so often with many more of her songs. Thank You "Queen"...😥😇🥰👏👏💖🌟💖🌟💖💯
Sei la migliore non morirai mai....canterà tra gli angeli e il Signore che ti ha amato dandoti un talento unico l mondo....I LOVE YOU ARITHA ADORABILE🥰🥰❣❣❣❣
Not the ultimate in technique, good but not perfect touch, but there's something in her piano playing, call it SOUL. And then she starts singing! Aretha Franklin's rock-solid musicianship and gospel choir background are the booster rockets that lift her beyond all others to greatest American singer, ever. RIP #QueenofSoul
Well it wasn't her 50th year in the business. She released her first secular album on Columbia in 1961...so more like her 54th year officially "in the business". Her first album ever was recorded at age 14 in 1956.
I wonder how much her weight gain contributed to her cancer? I think I read somewhere that she was diabetic. That weight gain is no joke. She belongs in the rare singer category, like Sinatra, you HAVE TO LISTEN. You don't hear glasses clinking or people talking. It's still and quiet when she sings.

Amazing Woman ❤❤
We agree✔️💟✝️🕎
The confidence she exudes when she sings and plays is awe-inspiring...there will never be another ARETHA !!!
Not ever.....not on her level.
Baby Aretha knows she can run those keys across the piano...! I love , love ,love it when she plays and sings!
Nashanta Stanley amen
First 10 seconds of "Until You Come Baby to Me," is 110% her piano playing. ❤🎹
She was self taught on the piano. Beautiful. R.I.P Queen
There was never a better Aretha than Aretha at the piano.
I always wanted Aretha to do a solo piano album. She was a master of the keys!

Thanks for sharing this touching experience and thank you for your service brotha. Aretha is divine eternally.
Her techniques in her passing chords are some of the best. I can tell her comfort/confident zone is playing a piano onstage, like MJ Dancing on stage.

Smokey Robinson said she was playing the piano this well at age 6. Aretha remains one of my favorite pianists.
Aretha and a piano. Simply amazing. Tears roll.down....
I saw the Musicians with tears in their eyes.
Phenomenal Vocals and Sounds!
There will never be another Aretha Franklin......one and only.
ABSOLUTELY!
Who wants another? I don’t understand.
Beautiful...Who doesn't love Aretha?

Aretha's artistry is so diverse and she still knows how to deliver with finesse!

The gentleman who picks up her coat at the end demonstrates an almost forgotten skill. I salute him!

Brought Tears To My Eyes To This Old Musician.
Reminds me to remember I do have a few things to be grateful for, such as hearing someone gifted with a talent and the ability to know how to use it..
The strength she shows while battling a deadly disease.
