    Interesting things in the video:
    03:45 Navigation-related intervention
(I wanted it to go on surface streets, not the highway)
    13:08 FSD System Error intervention
    19:09 Interesting unprotected left
20:20 Massachusetts State House and guys standing in the street
23:25 Waiting for peds in a crosswalk (plus a moped!)

Just pointing out, from the first 12 minutes of the video: Jordan is explaining how the car is AI etc. Meanwhile that Truck in front of him cut off another driver, almost causing an accident, then chose the wrong lane, ignored stop signs and then took an illegal right turn. The real world is complicated AND humans are terrible drivers. Let that sink in.

Fairly light traffic for Boston not the typical weekday traffic. My wife's model Y on full self driving often has trouble with the JFK underpass on Storrow drive by Harvard stadium; your car breezed right through. A friend of mine said he had the same problem but with latest upgrade he makes it through 6 out of 7 times without an intervention. The days he doesn't make it through he thinks it might have something to do with weather and atmospheric conditions on the cameras. Thanks for your video.

I'm from the UK but lived in California years ago and drove across the US to Boston where I recall spending a Friday afternoon driving around Boston looking for accommodation; it was such a contrast to the rest of the US. I've never driven in New York but Boston from what I recall was far closer to driving around, say, London. Clearly End to End FSD is working fantastically outside of California and this is a good indicator as to how this will translate to UK driving, the fact that we drive on the other side should not affect FSD as it will be using RHD data.

Ford is supposedly working on a partnership with Tesla to license FSD. Also, there will be a couple companies that are on Tesla's tail (like Wayve), but Tesla will lead the charge based on their tech stack in Robotics and aggressive strategy for large scale compute. Jordan...WOW! When I saw a two hour video on FSD, I assumed that I would be watching at 2x and FF rapidly. Not the case. You have produced a compelling and engrossing dissertation on Tesla, and so much more. As a Boston driver, it was amazing to watch the vehicle navigate, almost flawlessly, the ridiculous, crowded, cow-path based roads of the Hub of the Universe! Beyond that, your discussion of how Musk and Tesla have developed FSD was illuminating. When Tesla ditched the Lidar and Radar, I assumed that they had given up! It never occurred to me that humans have been doing this with just two eyes! Your detailed analysis and discussion of the technology AND reasoning is compelling. Well done. I am now a subscriber! And now, for a political coda: I really wish that Elon would shut the F up! He is one of the most amazing technologists in history. His visionary and positive impacts on humanity are incontrovertible...Space Flight, Solar, Tunneling, Electric vehicles, FSD, etc, etc, etc. I hate to see his "brands" tarnished by his mouth (and money), but that is what is happening, and any impediment to his techno-progress is both unnecessary and unfortunate. Yes, I know that he is the richest man on the planet and that Citizen's United decision allows him to express himself through money, but that does not mean that he has to...that is a personal choice.

Some of my disengagements were caused by not feeling safe enough when a hazard appeared. Maybe FSD would properly avoid a crash, but it seemed too risky to take the chance. There was more stress using FSD than driving without it. Possibly our comfort factor expands over time when we trust it more. Is anyone else stressed-out using FSD?

Right now it makes better decisions than a human most times so it’s like having two good drivers in the car at once. Doing any driving in Boston is a challenge. I just wonder how well it would do in heavy traffic with rude Mass drivers who try hard not to let you merge into a lane, say, in real life, you tend to almost force your way in. Wonder how AI deals with stuff like that.

I was rear ended last week Saturday October 12,2024 and I was on FSD the car behind me hit me and did not pull over to give me any information. But right before the car 🚘hit me from behind in a parking lot waiting to make a right turn on the frontage road of the freeway FSD told me to take control immediately.

I've been using FSD for the last two years and I can point to many instances in which it works but I'm also very aware the limits and failures. The fundamental problem is coexisting with human. FSD has no awareness of people giving directions or their expectations of other cars. It gets completely befuddled by signs whether a simple no turn on red and "turn after a stop on red" or, worse "no turn on red between 6AM and 8PM". A car flashing its lights is meaningless. My who doesn't even use FSD gets slammed by phantom breaking -- even with the latest build. And emergency vehicles ...
Try driving in downtown Boston on a snowy day when the car thinks you're underground.
FSD has improved and I do use but driving isn't getting it right 90% or even 99% but 100% with situational awareness. But it's important to get past the novelty excitement and understand the limits in the real world and why trying to solve FSD In isolation rather than thinking of transportation as a system is simplistic.
FSD is amazing but so is so much other technology

So the sun shining off the stop light can make it think the light is green? That can't be good.

Does it make effort going around potholes? It’s important driving in Boston.
