In my opinion most of the criticisms on all the games were completely fair and just. And although my opinion on Marvels Spider-Man 2 are different, thinking the stealth was too easy in the first one and liking the mote streamlined and challenging approach. As for the combat, from what i can tell its just more entertaining to watch with more combos, moves and a good ability system, the parry not working seems to be an issue not many people have experienced and it may be a timing issue, you can ajust the parry time window in the settings if you need, and you can do a second dodge if you need by holding x i think, because timing windows can suck a bit lol. But that doesnt mean your experience or take is invalid. Does it disagree with how i see the gameplay and story a bit? Sure, but that doesnt mean your wrong. The video was well put together and wellmade. I hope you enjoyed your time playing and making this video, keep up the good work

I thought it was mid when I was a kid, cuz I played Ultimate Spider-Man. And that game is just much better. So why would I ever play 2? Remember playing 2 after it and being really disappointed
idk man. if you look at every single game and then hop into SM2, it is literally the greatest culmination of every single game and mechanic and character and traversal. i played it non stop and literally could not put the controller down. i felt my childhood kick in during every game session. game made me so emotional. i finished miles morales again about 2 hours ago and my opinion has not changed tbh. it is an EXCELLENT part 3 to the 3 game series we’ve gotten.

Here it is just bad alien which corrupts People. A lot of bad dialogues in the game. Characters speaking like a robots and not real People. Cyberpunk 2077 dialogues much better.

Web swinging in Spiderman 2 PS2 feel uncomfortable because it’s completely based on physics, with webs being physical objects with weight that come into the equation. If you turn around a building hanging from a web without releasing it, the web will wrap around the building and shorten in the process. 20 years later, with Marvel’s Spiderman 2 PS5, which is obviously a wayyy better game in possibly any aspect, to be fair tho unfortunately if you turn around a building hanging from a web without releasing it (which is more difficult because you can’t decide, you have to be slow for Spiderman to not release the web), the web will get through the building, literally inside of it. That’s because Spiderman 2 PS5 webs don’t have actual physical presence. Web swinging in PS5 is based on a mix between animation based swinging and physics based swinging, that’s why it plays so smoothly and looks so good as a swinging system, because it compromises a bit on player’s agency. While on the PS2 game, you had to be very precise, and everything was purely based on physics. That’s what made it difficult, but satisfying to master. In the PS2 game, you could go really fast and be very smooth if you put the effort on mastering the system. In the PS5 game, even with Steering Assistance turned all the way down to 0, you don’t have the same physics based swinging system. It’s a compromise to get better mobility for the casual player, otherwise if Imsomniac decided to put actual physics on the swinging, everyone would have complained at how “messy” the swinging would have been. In the PS2 game, it’s based on pendulum more so than it is on the PS5, so with the web being attached to buildings, you will more usually face them and hit on them more often, thus making the game and its swinging more difficult.

Marvel’s Spiderman PS4 is to me, story-wise, the best Spiderman game ever made, while gameplay wise the cake goes to Marvel’s Spiderman 2 PS5. I do agree on the gadgets tho, I don’t know why they removed those stealth based gadgets but it doesn’t make sense.

I respect your tier list, I finally found somebody who has my same opinion in most of the raimi and beanox games. But when you are saying Insomniac spiderman 1 is better than 2, you lost me, like this ending is good and when you look at it spiderman man 2 is like Across the Spider Verse which it needs a sequel to make it great. The stealth it is pretty disappointing but I generally am a out for blood and fighting guy instead of a chill hiding guy. The parriying is annoying you got it right but I kinda got used to it when the lizard boss fight happend so ye. But anyways spiderman 1 is over stuff with unecesary gadgets but 2 has all the gadgets in just 4 gadgets. Plus the combat has incredibly improved into more strategic and tactical forms. Overall Spiderman 2 is a 9.8 and Spiderman 1 is 9.7. But dont compare spiderman with batman, they are total different games.
It totally blew past my head that Spider-Man 2 is like ATSV in that way, especially since I think this sets up more than the first game did. But yeah very valid points, they're both goated games but it just boils down to preference on which one is better. Also the comparison to the Arkham games was for the concept of the sequel game surpassing the first to where the former is obsolete, and not about the games themselves. The first ever Spider-man game I ever played was Spider-man 2 from Tobey Maguire. For me, at the time, it was amazing. I found my old console and played it again and I just realized that at the time it was godly but now it looks shit because, yes, it was released in 2004, but what I'm trying to say is that it obviously looks horrible because it was released like over 20 years ago. You have to realize that Marvels Spider-Man 2 looks good now, but at some point you will look at it with the same perspective as the other games, HORRIBLE.

About marvel's spider man 2. In my opinion it is average game by today standards. I've liked the improvements for combat. Abilities, gadgets on hotkeys, good boss encounters, new enemy types are welcome. However it is still the easy and repetetive combat and when you in the latest parts of the game you feel tired. Also rage of the symbiote is super repetetive and in compare with bio blast is a chore. Maybe if there were more abilities and gadgets, we could create some builds like in ff16. There were a lot of unnecessary and easy minigames. The worst part for me was the plot. As i spidey fun and gamer i see a lot of problems: - bad dialogues for the most part - there are too many plotlines which are not important for the main plot. Game couldnt understand if it is the game about Harry and Peter, Miles and his university, MR negative problems, Mio Morales new boyfriend, mj work problem, about villians redemption or about balance - as a results Black costume arc was ruined. Character for no reason started to shout like a crazy, and every one blame peter. (but they knew, that there is a strange alien on his skin). Miles had a motivation from sm3 movie and had more reason to wear Black suit and to be angry. -kraven is Bane. I remember only his goons. And he remain simillar role as MR negative in the first game. - Harry transformation to venom was very strange and under developed. - dialogues during boss fights are super cringe(scream, lizard, peter) - also i see Miles is a Mary Sue in plot. It starts hidden. For example in sandman mission he helps peter 3 times, for no reason. And later scenarists shouts at you that miles is a better spider-man. Which is not good plot. - second main hero should be harry and we should play as an agent venom and later venom like in ultimate spider-man. It helps with gameplay variety and narrative about Peter and a Harry
Yeah anf MJ missions are bad: 1) not interesting to play as a human in a game about superhero. We could play as a scream, for example or wraith. 2) Enemies are really dumb in those sections. If i want to play good stealth or shooters, i will play in diferrent games. 3) in third act mj could destroy enemies much faster than a spider-man, which is a super strange
Most of your points are invalid, Marvel's Spider Man 2 is objectively the best Marvel game: - Dialogue are good, there aren't any dialogue bad or cringe at all - Story is great. First 2 acts were great. The only part that got the short end is Venom. Everything else is great. What makes this story is that it has themes like redemption and forgiveness - Black suit arc wasn't ruined. It was handled well. Peter didn't get mad for no reason. He wanted to become a better Spider Man and he doesn't want to lose anymore people close to him so he was too overprotective - Kraven being Mr Negative of this, I'll give you that - Harry is fleshed out but once he becomes Venom he loses focus so I'll give you that too - Miles didn't save Peter for no reason. He was falling and about get suffocated but Miles saved him. Nobody in the story said anything about Miles being the better Spider Man - Miles being the 2nd main hero is the point since it's a 2 Spider Men game but I suppose Agent Venom can join in so I'll somewhat give you that - I agree about the MJ segments you provided separately though. Marvel's Spider Man 2 is objectively the best Spider Man game. The story is objectively great, that's why it's nominated for best narrative. You're one of those people that lacks common sense by claiming everything happens for no reason. I am not sure. There are a lot of good parts in other spider games which are not present in marvel's spider man 2. And also plot/narrative is bad

In the PS2 game, it’s based on pendulum more so than it is on the PS5, so with the web being attached to buildings, you will more usually face them and hit on them more often, thus making the game and its swinging more difficult.

Marvel’s Spiderman PS4 is to me, story-wise, the best Spiderman game ever made, while gameplay wise the cake goes to Marvel’s Spiderman 2 PS5. I do agree on the gadgets tho, I don’t know why they removed those stealth based gadgets but it doesn’t make sense.

@@good13794 bozo i gave a CLEAR f3cking comparison of both Insomniacs story and the Raimi because of its BASIC foundation of its story for the Spider-Man media and for that there's way better Spider-Man games that tell its story by utilising the creative liberty for Spider-Man compared to Insomniac which mostly just rips off and make it worse because of its either mediocre or decent at best writing to horrid writing.
I respect your tier list, I finally found somebody who has my same opinion in most of the raimi and beanox games. But when you are saying Insomniac spiderman 1 is better than 2, you lost me, like this ending is good and when you look at it spiderman man 2 is like Across the Spider Verse which it needs a sequel to make it great. The stealth it is pretty disappointing but I generally am a out for blood and fighting guy instead of a chill hiding guy. The parriying is annoying you got it right but I kinda got used to it when the lizard boss fight happend so ye. But anyways spiderman 1 is over stuff with unecesary gadgets but 2 has all the gadgets in just 4 gadgets. Plus the combat has incredibly improved into more strategic and tactical forms. Overall Spiderman 2 is a 9.8 and Spiderman 1 is 9.7. But dont compare spiderman with batman, they are total different games.
It totally blew past my head that Spider-Man 2 is like ATSV in that way, especially since I think this sets up more than the first game did. But yeah very valid points, they're both goated games but it just boils down to preference on which one is better.
Also the comparison to the Arkham games was for the concept of the sequel game surpassing the first to where the former is obsolete, and not about the games themselves. Although I could see it being interpreted that way but that wasn't intentional lol

Marvel spider man 2 is worse than marvel spider man 1. As a total experience. They made combat more comfortable, but not enough variety. I was tired. Maybe because i played first game with all dlc and miles morales.
And in story drivven game story is mid in msm2. There were a lot of bad stuff from character development and narrative

- Marvel's Spider Man 2 is objectively better in almost every way possible. While the story is great, first one has a better story (the only thing that the first one got that's better). But better game overall is Marvel's Spider Man 2
- Combat has more variety then the first one especially the enemy varieties are improved
- character arc are great like Peter, Kraven, Miles and Mr Negative all got good character arcs

spiderman 2 is far from mid just admit you grew up in the wrong era. miles morales isnt goated. great would even be a stretch the story was horrible and short. nothing but the prowler was memorable. the amazing spiderman was great maybe even pretty good obviously you couldnt beat it on heroic. spiderman tie in game was below spiderman 2 no question at all. i think your opinion is garbage. the rest are good.

The first ever Spider-man game I ever played was Spider-man 2 from Tobey Maguire. For me, at the time, it was amazing. I found my old console and played it again and I just realized that at the time it was godly but now it looks shit because, yes, it was released in 2004, but what I'm trying to say is that it obviously looks horrible because it was released like over 20 years ago. You have to realize that Marvels Spider-Man 2 looks good now, but at some point you will look at it with the same perspective as the other games, HORRIBLE.

There's more wrong with spiderman 2 bc they shoved a lot of propaganda and god forbid the mj mission's where godawful peter and miles are doing 30 hit combos to beat someone and mj has a tazer and one shots enemies that's so stupid
About marvel's spider man 2. In my opinion it is average game by today standards. I've liked the improvements for combat. Abilities, gadgets on hotkeys, good boss encounters, new enemy types are welcome. However it is still the easy and repetetive combat and when you in the latest parts of the game you feel tired. Also rage of the symbiote is super repetetive and in compare with bio blast is a chore.
Maybe if there were more abilities and gadgets, we could create some builds like in ff16.
There were a lot of unnecessary and easy minigames.
The worst part for me was the plot. As i spidey fun and gamer i see a lot of problems:
- bad dialogues for the most part
- there are too many plotlines which are not important for the main plot. Game couldnt understand if it is the game about Harry and Peter, Miles and his university, MR negative problems, Mio Morales new boyfriend, mj work problem, about villians redemption or about balance
- as a results Black costume arc was ruined. Character for no reason started to shout like a crazy, and every one blame peter. (but they knew, that there is a strange alien on his skin). Miles had a motivation from sm3 movie and had more reason to wear Black suit and to be angry.
-kraven is Bane. I remember only his goons. And he remain simillar role as MR negative in the first game.
- Harry transformation to venom was very strange and under developed.
- dialogues during boss fights are super cringe(scream, lizard, peter)
- also i see Miles is a Mary Sue in plot. It starts hidden. For example in sandman mission he helps peter 3 times, for no reason. And later scenarists shouts at you that miles is a better spider-man. Which is not good plot.
- second main hero should be harry and we should play as an agent venom and later venom like in ultimate spider-man. It helps with gameplay variety and narrative about Peter and a Harry
Yeah anf MJ missions are bad:
1) not interesting to play as a human in a game about superhero. We could play as a scream, for example or wraith.
2) Enemies are really dumb in those sections. If i want to play good stealth or shooters, i will play in diferrent games.
3) in third act mj could destroy enemies much faster than a spider-man, which is a super strange
Most of your points are invalid, Marvel's Spider Man 2 is objectively the best Marvel game:
- Dialogue are good, there aren't any dialogue bad or cringe at all
- Story is great. First 2 acts were great. The only part that got the short end is Venom. Everything else is great. What makes this story is that it has themes like redemption and forgiveness
- Black suit arc wasn't ruined. It was handled well. Peter didn't get mad for no reason. He wanted to become a better Spider Man and he doesn't want to lose anymore people close to him so he was too overprotective
- Kraven being Mr Negative of this, I'll give you that
- Harry is fleshed out but once he becomes Venom he loses focus so I'll give you that too
- Miles didn't save Peter for no reason. He was falling and about get suffocated but Miles saved him. Nobody in the story said anything about Miles being the better Spider Man
- Miles being the 2nd main hero is the point since it's a 2 Spider Men game but I suppose Agent Venom can join in so I'll somewhat give you that
- I agree about the MJ segments you provided separately though.
Marvel's Spider Man 2 is objectively the best Spider Man game. The story is objectively great, that's why it's nominated for best narrative. You're one of those people that lacks common sense by claiming everything happens for no reason. They all happen for a reason, you either don't understand the context or you understand but you just ignore the context. If the story wasn't good then it wouldn't be nominated. Sure it didn't win but nomination is a good achievement too. Neither did the first game won any awards. Nuff said

If you want good plot and narrative than play guardians of the galaxy from Eidos. Those guys put a lot of love in the game. They took all good things from comics and movies and made a great experience.
