Just setup and started my first MM rando, never did any OoT or MM speedruns (or even glitches) before, but I went with heavy glitches and having watched your videos has already gotten me pretty far.
Doing stuff like Action Swap to get Index Warp, having to constantly use Powder Keg for normal explosive checks, it's been extremely fun after watching for years.and I'm going to continue getting good.
Needless to say thanks for being the best runner, I love the focus on information/explanations from you (both for helping me and just being interesting/entertaining as a whole).

I ran an OoT randomizer seed that was a lot like this. It was actually my first seed. I hqd already put probably 3 or 4 hours into it before i found that strength upgrade was locked behind wallet upgrade (i forgot to check bombchu shop) which was locked behind ice cavern (which i couldnt do for reasons i forget at this point) or horseback archery which was locked behind Epona's song which was locked behind whatever song checks of which i had a good few completed already, so it was probably ravaged village, and Strength upgrade was I'm pretty sure the only way i could properly progress at that point. Mind you i don't know speedrunning glitches so i was working on completely glitchless logic
I think Water medallion may have been locked behind spirit temple, from memory? I don't have the seed or logs anymore, but without strength upgrade i couldn't progress through that either, which would have theoretically made the seed impossible *if* epona's song was ravaged village?
I had blue fire arrows activated in SoH and i had ice arrows by this point so I'm really wracking my brain on why i couldn't complete ice cavern, i just know i couldn't.

Funny that this is the first seed on YT that shows what its like to not have Soaring or SoT readily within reaching distance and it ended up being 4th day abuse because you didnt need any npcs to get to it. xD
If water has light arrow properties, then do light arrows also have water properties?

6:08 - i will never Not-Like the 'old VCR' overlay for fast-forwarding segments...mainly because more-recent equivalents (like 'skipping forward on a DVD' or 'hitting the +10sec button' here on youtube) just dont Show enough, how much time youre passing...back in my day, once you were done watching a movie, you also had to sit there and wait for it to Rewind before you could watch it again...and just hope that no one taped over your son's Little League Homerun, with "dog makes me trip and fall at the beach"...and walk to school, and back home, in the snow, uphill both ways, with an onion tied to my belt cuz that was the style at the time............

i dont get the stone tower hover. he has elegy, so why does he need to be that high up?
Okay, I think I figured it out! The water is falling during the whole cutscene. So he has to be high enough for the water to hit the switch after the cutscene if over. If he used elegy he would void out (because the block he _would_ land on would be moved b/c of elegy) before the water hits the switch/the inversion cutscene activates. So he has to be high enough to let the bottle cutscene play, allow him to land, and give him time to hit the switch to expose the gem.
I'm mostly guessing, but this seems to be something like why he has to do such a dumb hover.
@@pjesmile I think they asking why ZFG didn't just move the switch with elegy then drop the water on the jewel. I'm not sure why either, maybe ZFG just forgor

I'm missing something--why does he do that hover for inverted stone tower when he has light arrows and elegy? What's he missing to do it vanilla? (haven't played majoras in years)

Elegy doesn't need magic. I think he has to be hovering a certain amount in order for the water to actually reach the switch. He can't use elegy because he has to hover so high, I think. But I can't find anything about why he has to he hover so high for this to work, tbh.

He would've if he actually could have done it. He had no ocarina and couldn't do deku OI since he also didn't have magic.
