thanks! It's a good flight to put a lot of activity into just a few minutes and the views are great too. Set winds from the west to south and you'll be all set.
Great job on the approach switching, Virgil. A pleasure to see. I have a question. It looks like you are flying the approach old CDI rather than the G5s. Just redundancy with both the CDI and the eHSI being fed? (It didn't help when you safety pilot asked about the "localizer.") BTW, I used to fly a Comanche 57P. A year older than yours.
@@midlifeflyer I’m primarily flying the G5s . When the G5 HSI was installed (before I was a partner) they decided to keep the Garmin CDI coupled to the NAV1 output on the 650. It’s nice in terms of being more easily captured on the GoPro during videos and nav2 use is rare enough these days to not feel like it should be higher in the sight line. One caveat is the OBS setting is only active on the G5 so the others needle is always based on the G5 settings
Well done! Great views.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great to meet you today Virgil. These videos are great. It's like a instant refresher.
@@rogerreyes5947 nice meeting you too!
Another great short flight..I don't know what you do for a living..but it allows you to stay on the wing..thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I try to fit in as many flights as I can around work.
Class C starts at 701. I used to instruct there when it was Ferguson Field when Dee and Don owned it.
Yes when NAS Sherman tower is open (ie weekdays). When the tower is closed the Class C also is closed unless open by notam
Nice, change approach then change back! Very smooth!
Nice video!
At 14:19, that is Beverly Parkway not I-10.
I enjoy your videos.
Good catch, I was editing quickly and am used to being quite a bit more north crossing east to west than I was due to the miss at PNS
Great flight video. Im going to try this flight in Flight Simulator 2024.

@@midlifeflyer Always fun to run into other Comanches with similar tail numbers. Not so fun for ATC I suppose
@@planeplaces I wouldn't call that a caveat. I'd hate for two nav 1 indicators to show different things.
@ which is the primary consideration to remove it or switch it to NAV2
Did you have to contact pensacola approach before taking off from Milton? I noticed you took off and climbed into the Charlie .
@@TheBeedeegee the Charlie over Milton was closed because it was a Saturday morning
