  • We spent a ton of time on Cape San Blas when the kids were little. On our Spring Break road trip this year we looped through there again and spent a day revisiting the area (near Port St. Joe, Florida). It had been 15 years since we'd been there. It had changed, but not too much. We stayed in Port St. Joe where my wife and daughter made me sleep on the floor (?!?). We visited the lighthouse there before heading over to Cape San Blas. We hit up our old stomping grounds before going to the end at St. Joseph Penisula State Park. We walked on the beach side and the bay side while we were there. I always enjoyed the area because you could almost always find a spot on the beach (or bay) that would provide some solitude. Still got it!

I bet the area has changed a lot since then. Maybe not as much as other places in Florida.

We are heading to this area shortly - we are further around the "bend" in FL right now and wow, do I want to see some white sand!

White sand without the mobs of people...that's why I like this area!

Just inside the Cape is a Deep spotter called Shark hole due to the size of sharks we caught in Commercial nets. I don't advise swimming there !
