My favorite riff of all time may very well be Iommi's Under The Sun. The Heaviness combined with that eerie production on Vol_4, the dark lyrics that follow and how it closes out such a fantastic record, just pure doom. Symptom of The Universe is right up there for me and is what most people point toward when thinking about Iommi's heaviest riff but I think Under The Sun edges is out for me. The very beginning intro and the one that follows with Geezer adding to it. It blows my mind such a crushing brutal riff is from 72'.

If I'm remembering correctly I think Master Of Reality through Sabotage is mostly tuned to C#. Funnily enough those are my favorite albums by Sabbath. What's cool is hearing those 70's bootleg shows where songs from Paranoid and their debut also get the dark C# treatment. I wish those albums were in that tuning too. It's great to hear the crowd during those recorded shows from the audience. You hear the fans all the time saying things like "Woah..this is really fuc%king heavy man.." lol. It's heavy as hell now so I could only imagine what the audience 50 years ago were experiencing with the band cranked to 10 and firing on all cylinders. Must have been unbelievable. I love Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin but Black Sabbath were going into unexplored territory and were a completely different animal.

Well great riffs in the 70's
    So many
As Mississippi Queen Mountain great one but I dig "Never In My Life" much more.
As Rock Bottom UFO I love picked let's go with "Lights Out" killer and crowd pleaser.
Robin Trower alot to be said of great riffs Let's go with"Too Rolling Stoned''
BTO mentioned I'm going with "Sledgehammer"
Rainbow I sure would go with Stargazer along said here today A Light In The Black
The Who go with Won't Get Fooled Again
James Gang go with my fave The Bomber/Bolero Joe Walsh kills it every time.
Montrose so many well let's go with Space Station No. #5 Ronnie took song to a high level.
Black Sabbath ones I could have mentioned were taken like Supernaut and Symptom Of The Universe.. so will go with Meglamania where Tony after the slow playing tears into the heavy riff and the great song the band so killer.
Van Halen- On Fire great song on debut with Eddie's riffs and so do love mentioned by Butch with Light In The Sky. So going with On Fire.
HMS Van Halen predictable Runnin With The Devil
    Paranoid- Grand Funk Railroad
    Sunday Morning-Angel (off debut)
    On & On-Angel (off debut)
    Mirrors-Angel (off Helluva Band)
I could go on and with bands of many. And I added hms Angel cause I so love that band and wonder it didn't get a shout from Butch. I know he's a big fan as I am a fan of them too. TC and keep rockin everyone!!🎸🥁🎹🎤🎶

Surprised to see "Layla" barely mentioned at the end and only one Stones (honorable mention) with "Bitch"; would have picked one of many -- "Honky Tonk Women", "Brown Sugar", "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'", "Tumblin Dice" etc.
