Advice if you’re going to play this on PC: do not use health or HEV stations and reload at the same time, please. The game will crash and you will have to start the mission all over again.

I notice it now, but with Gina and Colette's campaign, it's like a reversed feeling of Shephard's. Nothing has really happened yet in their campaign, and the only people they come across are the two doctors. In fact, by the time they're almost done, it's when the military shows up and Gordon is about half way into "On A Rail". It also feels a tad more personal, because you're going into areas of Black Mesa that were specifically designed for daily life-Not to mention, taking care of the other Doctor and your teammate. You really feel like you're at the beginning of this incident. Unlike Shephard, Barney, or Gordon, you have a *clear cut plan* on what to do. Heck, your last moments are spent solving it, but you can't help but feel as though it isn't over. In the end of it all, you're left to stare at the night sky, all while the player knows that Gordon is fighting for his life inside an abandoned rail system. Furthermore, you know that it's nearly dawn, and that the events of Blue-Shift are ending as you complete that last part. It really feels like a sort of disjointed, melancholic, and yet hopeful part in the Half-Life storyline. It's made even sadder by knowing what happens at the end of Opposing Force and not knowing what happened to Gina, Collette, and Keller at all.

Meh, I hate BS simply for the fact that it has no new weapons or enemies. It didn't even have a boss fight like the other HL games. For some reason Gearbox decided not to use any of the new weapons from OpFor like the Desert Eagle or the M249.

If Decay ever gets remade, IF it ever gets the chance, I hope they add more context to the game, more story and more engagement between the two players. Whoever ends up taking the responsibility, whether it be the amazing Crowbar Collective, the parent development team Gearbox Studio, or even Valve, more context is added for Gina Cross's death. Drive is added for Colette and Gina, and heck they could even do an "A Way Out" at the end of the campaign. What if the reason why we find Cross dead is because the G-Man only had one position available for work, and the final level of the reduxed Decay isn't a survival mode simulator, but instead a PvP against your fellow player? And the ultimate canon is that Colette drowned Gina in Xen??
After watching all playthroughs of Half-Life, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, and Decay, I can say without a doubt that ammo discipline has somehow never been learned, much less mastered. Every enemy killed is like a visual depiction of “task failed successfully.”
All these years and I didnt know you could switch like that...I always thought it was bugged and you needed two players. Therefore I never got to the end of this game mode

I think that sometime after Gordon got kidnapped, they may have considered waiting for him a lost cause so they sent Gina through and maybe Colette through a portal and Gina died in Xen. I played both version of this game. The unofficial PC port is sure simple with a couple of home-made easter eggs and a way to unlock the bonus mission. The PS2 version saw me with some struggles especially that one mission where I have to crank the valves while being attacked by Xen aliens. From these experiences, it really requires an edgy adrenaline to finish this co-op.
Me and my mates are trying to 100% the ps2 version. The PC port looks like they made it easier as boy we cannot do the last mission as 2 player let alone solo

The three being highly rank scientists could easily know how to escape Black Mesa, just first they had to close the portal. It doesnt make any sense that Gina appears in Xen, why did she do that? Is unnecesary. Also Colette being in Gman freezer? No way Randy Dumford, since Gman clearly doesnt care about both scientists at the beginning of Decay. Cmon Randy, i respect you for doing Half Life on PS2, one of the best ports from PC to a console in history, but this is just dumb.

I cant understand, this game shows that they reverse the effect of the resonance cascade yet why the events of the hl2 occur even gordon defeated nihilanth, so this whole operation for the two woman was completely pointless?
I'm pretty sure that this operation did work. This leads up to Gordon launching the satellite in HL1 which stops the cascade from happening all over the planet. Gordon is successful in stopping the invasion. However the Xen alien forces are a different faction to the Combine. The Combine were able to invade earth because of what Gordon did on Xen i believe. Basically the Combine already had mastered portal technology, which probably means they know about Xen, which is probably how they found out about Earth. Then they simply had to open a new portal and invade.

Yes they did focus on showing off the Source Engine, but it worked very well. Half-Life 2 is one of the greatest games of all time for a reason

Umm, okay, I can't get it still, what happened at the end? What did they do? If we look at Blue Shift Power Struggle for example the aliens still spawning.
What happened was that Gina and Colette were trying to shut off the portal to prevent Xen aliens from invading Earth. With the satellite launched by Gordon Freeman in HL's "On A Rail" chapter, both girls would activate the displacement beacon in order to reach the satellite orbit by weakening the Resonance Cascade effect circulating Earth. Put it simple, this whole Decay story is meant to explain why Gordon originally had to launch the satellite.
The line "The new guy DR Freeman" really bothers me. Gordon couldn't have been that new if he had access to the HEV suit (It's a product unique to Black Mesa, so he couldn't have trained for it before) also almost all the scientists in the facility are familiar with him, so he was clearly working in Anomalous Materials for, I say at least 4 months. It's a bit ridiculous but whatever.

All the intercom announcements about things going wrong and inspectors not allowed into the laser place indicate that someone WANTED a resonance cascade.

You can actually find Gina's corpse in Opposing Force in one of the areas that you teleport to with the Displacer.

i think that Gina was a placeholder model or smth as i think its the model from Deathmatch?

I find it Interesting that in the chapter where you need to find a guard, it shows you like 4 guards alive in front of you, then they die as part of scripted sequences

We won't get remastered but at least we get a fan remake for the PC version.

On my version, at the beginning of Hazardous Course, Rosenberg gets stuck walking up the stairs after the first elevator. Anybody else having a similar issue with this port?

I cant understand, this game shows that they reverse the effect of the resonance cascade yet why the events of the hl2 occur even gordon defeated nihilanth, so this whole operation for the two woman was completely pointless?
From the looks of it, the whole mess caught the Combine's attention and they opened their own portals(or reopened the rift) to invade.
I'm pretty sure that this operation did work. This leads up to Gordon launching the satellite in HL1 which stops the cascade from happening all over the planet. Gordon is successful in stopping the invasion. However the Xen alien forces are a different faction to the Combine. The Combine were able to invade earth because of what Gordon did on Xen i believe.
Basically the Combine already had mastered portal technology, which probably means they know about Xen, which is probably how they found out about Earth. Then they simply had to open a new portal and invade.
@TheVoiceOfTruth you can dislike HL2 all you want but it really didn't devalue HL at all, and the game was completely revolutionary for it's time, doing things not topped even in 2019. Yes they did focus on showing off the Source Engine, but it worked very well. Half-Life 2 is one of the greatest games of all time for a reason

Umm, okay, I can't get it still, what happened at the end? What did they do? If we look at Blue Shift Power Struggle for example the aliens still spawning.
What happened was that Gina and Colette were trying to shut off the portal to prevent Xen aliens from invading Earth. With the satellite launched by Gordon Freeman in HL's "On A Rail" chapter, both girls would activate the displacement beacon in order to reach the satellite orbit by weakening the Resonance Cascade effect circulating Earth.
Put it simple, this whole Decay story is meant to explain why Gordon originally had to launch the satellite.

The line "The new guy DR Freeman" really bothers me. Gordon couldn't have been that new if he had access to the HEV suit (It's a product unique to Black Mesa, so he couldn't have trained for it before) also almost all the scientists in the facility are familiar with him, so he was clearly working in Anomalous Materials for, I say at least 4 months. It's a bit ridiculous but whatever.
It always reminded me of Scp Containment Breach because of the map in the start, because of the labs and the doors.
