Also! Lucy leaves the cabin to get Katniss, the potato. He questions her on it because she had told him 2 weeks before that the Katniss wasn’t ready for harvest. I think that’s an important note because it adds to why snow hated Katniss Everdeen so much.
Lucy doesn’t start randomly singing at the reaping. She was smacked in the face by the mayor (the father of Mayfair who was the other love interest of Billy). Lucy was in such shock and trying not to cry in front of the camera. Then a fellow Covey member starting to sing so she could show strength in front of the capital which was watching her live, and Lucy then followed suit.
This moment on the stage is what initially got the entire student panel and most of the capitol talking about Lucy before she even got off the train.

I started the book 3 days ago and already finished it😭 It's sooo good. It will be difficult seeing the movie with all my headcannon pf how characters and places look. I hope the movie does the book justice😮💨
Between the book, the cast and the feel of this trailer I think this could be a really good movie, best of the bunch. The trick will be to somehow convey the essence of Snow's internal dialog to the audience. If they succeed, the ending will be quite poignant. Rachel is perfectly cast as Lucy Gray Baird who flirts with everybody, is 16 going on 35 according to the Dinklage character. She sings some songs from the book which one of the movie producers describes: ' “Rachel often would opt not to do playback, and just sing it live. Often, after they would call cut, people would just go bananas clapping!” Those live on-set vocals will be included in the final product - and there’s one scene in particular that Jacobson’s especially excited for: “The big finale moment…un-fucking-believable. Her voice is jaw-dropping.” '' (OK, I put this in before you mentioned it)
I am very much looking forward to the movie and will see it in the theater.
reading the book for the first time I deadass thought that I missed pages or had missing pages at the end when snow spirals I was caught so off guard

Don't you think Lucy Gray was 'selected' surreptitiously by the Mayor Lipp (the actor also a fan of Rachel) to get rid of Lucy who is aware of what had happened and the snake is Lucy's declaration of I know what you did?

rereading the book for the fourth time 😭😭 god it’s 2014 again i’m THRIVING cinema is BACK
The scene showing the hand above the snakes is Snow dropping the handkerchief with Lucy's scent on it to save her life. FYI There is also a theory [on the web }never mentioned in the book that Lacy Gray Baird could be Katniss Everdeen's grandmother.
the scenes inside the arena were shot in my country, furthermore in a city i studied in, so i'm quite emotional about it hahah
The snakes are extremely venomous but they give her a shot of the antidote once she is bitten so she lives but is not quite the same after. The tributes who get bit die right away.
what we know now it makes one wonder there was other reasons why Donald Sutherland' snow went to District 12 beside threatening Katniss🤔

Cool breakdown girls! I also get very irritated when it comes to random singing, but on the other hand (fortunately or not haha) it is a big part of the book. Riverdale's latest seasons are the best example of how to not do it.
