When I was a shift manager at McDonald's I rode 12 miles a day round trip to get there. At my current job I ride 4 miles a day. I could do this no problem.

Yes, this really sucks! Uber sent me 14 miles away on my bike haha. Deliveroo and Stuart however do show the drop off location :) In America, Uber does show the drop-off location, it should come to the UK in the near future! I hope..

Yup I've had many hours where I make over 15 $/hour which is good for me because I enjoy it and I've worked shit jobs for 12-13 $/hour. I'm young and I live in a busy area so it works well for me but I've lived in places that don't get busy which makes it harder.

ALWAYS lock up your bike when picking up your order! I'd recommend a chunky chain that is hard to cut, you can wrap this around your saddle when riding :) You can also buy a bike alarm that goes off when someone touches your bike, it works really well!

To answer the videos question from my experience. On Friday night I made £120 from 5pm - 9:30 pm and tonight (saturday) I made a little over £100 for around 5 hours work. I use Deliveroo and just eat who I think pay a little better than Uber
It is. As a former HGV driver he was putting himself in great danger going on the inside like he was doing. ATT cyclists do not ever go on the inside as an HGV or Bus or large van is turning left. This is probably the most dangerous manoeuvre you can do and its the NO1 cause of cyclists deaths on the roads each year. Do not expect an HGV to see you - there is around 11 feet of dead space you cannot be seen.
Yeah he was riding a little crazy for my liking. I live in Chicago and usually take the side streets if I can, it's so much safer for bikers than the bike gutter on a busy arterial street

Currently do UE by car for spare change but with gas at $1.80/l in Ontario Im going by bike once the snows gone. Something to do while kids are in school. Looks more fun by bike, I hate driving.

I use a GoPro HERO8 Black. I have an iPhone 11 so it's waterproof. You can just buy a waterproof case for your phone or get a zip-up phone holder that can also store your power bank and a couple other things :)

I work at McDonald’s and what we do when giving drinks to Uber drivers is double lid the drinks to make sure nothing spills out or to at least make it less likely
Having a thermal backpack that is securely fitted to your back is the best way to prevent drinks from spilling! Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think it's a good idea to have your food in panniers that low down on your bike, the drinks will bounce around and leak from the vibrations. As for hot drinks, they are a pain, it's almost impossible to prevent them from leaking because they have a hole in the lid. The only way is for the restaurant to package them properly. Hope this helps :)

Or maybe you live in the US and US McDonald’s have changed their lids, I dont know, but so far I’ve been using the typical lids and we are still double lidding the cups to give Uber eats couriers.

@@4thjulycali nice!..have you tried putting scotch tape on the lid hole and and extra tape over the lid to keep it in place?..it works for me,here and there the lid tape might come off cause of the moisture but for the most part it works well.I use a food delivery back pack with cupholders..but You can also get you a bike rack and put a milk crate on it and get you a small thermal drink holder from ebay and strap it in good so it doesn't move around inside the milk crate

As we know McDonald’s drinks are the worst but I just use the back bag using lots of bubble wrap or whatever material available to Secure the drinks. I find things on the back on your bike like having McDonald’s drinks in a pannier bag is a rough ride for the food and drink items because your sitting on the back of the bike frame and it shakes more at the back I find ( well that’s my experience ) but saying that their are plenty of people who say panniers are more Secure and Convenient
@@robhingston I agree with you completely! I try to avoid taking orders from McDonalds. Panniers are definitely not a good idea for transporting drinks, a backpack is much more stable and the drinks don't move around as much!
Drinks spillages are definitely a problem, especially for bike couriers! Hot drinks are the worst, they have a hole in the lid so no matter how carefully you ride it's likely to leak :( However don't let this put you off! Just reject hot drinks and make sure your bag is properly setup for cold drinks :)

i would recommend the unbranded TPU bag from the ubereats kit store mate. It's a bit pricey but mines lasted me well for the past 6 months, it's big but not too big and its thermally insulated. (also because it's unbranded you can multi-app with it)

Hi Kevin! I do deliveries in Nottingham too :) I recently made a video on how to prevent drinks from spilling! However hot drinks are a pain in the butt! I just cancel hot drinks when I see them, it will save you so much stress and hassle! Hot drinks have a hole in the lid and so it's almost impossible to stop it from leaking even a little bit. The only way is for the restaurant to pack them properly, Greggs are very good at this :)

It depends on your legal structuring. Sole proprietor is taxed as an employee, llc is taxed as a business.
Personally I get temporary fuel storage, so I use that money and put towards my bike.
