- Hier zeige ich euch eine einfache Lösung, damit sich euer Strickstück in glatt rechts nicht mehr am Saum einrollt.
Here I‘m showing an easy non-roll edging for your knits in stockinette stitch, which prevents the hem from curling.
I don't speak German, but your demonstration is very clear and easy to follow. I will try using it on my next sweater. Thank you for sharing this technique.
Great demonstration. Do you have a method for top down cast off that won’t roll?
@@jr509 I think you could also do this technique followed by the bind off on the next row.
Ich bin Niederländer, aber ich verstehe die Erklärung. Allerdings ist es schwierig, Deutsch zu schreiben. Hoffentlich übersetzt Google es gut. Danke für dieses Video, es ist klar erklärt. Das Ergebnis ist sehr schön. Ich werde es auf jeden Fall versuchen!

I think I might understand. Slip the first stitch knitwise, then insert the right needle into the purl side of the stitch that is one row below, or is it two rows below? Knit that second stitch through the back loop, and then pass the slipped stitch over the stitch you just worked?
It’s two rows below, the second purl bump from the wrong side of the stitch you just slipped. Knit it through the back loop and pass the slipped stitch over ❤️

Can someone explain in English what the original cast on method was? Ands was this procedure done on the second knitted row?
Normal long tail cast on. Knit stocking stitch for 2 to 3 rows then do this procedure, once only. If you knit top down, knit to last 2-3 rows, proceed as above and cast off.

Das funktioniert genauso. Einfach top-down stricken und wenn man abketten möchte die Schritte wie im Video wiederholen, nur das man diese doppelte Masche auch gleich abkettet. Schau mal auf Instagram, da habe ich auch ein Video dazu ❤️

Der Rand sieht gut aus. Ich glaube, es wäre einfacher zu machen, wenn man mit der rechten Nadel die untere hintere Masche schon auf der linken Seite auf die linke Nadel hebt und die beiden Maschen dann einfach zusammen rechts abstrickt.
Но это же совсем другая вязка получится,вовсе не то же самое!

Resultat: Das funktioniert nicht wirklich. Wenn ich das probiere, habe ich überall Doppelmaschen liegen. Das klappt nicht, weil die leicht übereinander rutschen.
@@fritzifrey2908 na eigentlich nicht, denn die Masche auf der rechten Nadel ist ja schon gestrickt. Dann die noch ungestrickte Masche auf der linken Nadel lassen und dort die untere Masche auf die linke Nadel holen, dann die beiden Maschen, die jetzt links zusammen liegen rechts zusammenstricken.

It doesn't look like a very stretchy bind off?
Its not a bind off at all. Its actually taking a technique used for invisible increases but passing over a stich so there is no increase. You can see on her right needle the stitches aren't decreasing because she's both adding and dropping 1 for 1.
What this is is a method to prevent a stockinette stitch item from rolling on the cast on/cast off edges. In her example, she's casting on, then doing a row like this to help prevent a rolled edge. She also says you can do this in the row before casting off to help with the same issue on that edge. You still need to cast off with your own method after doing this.
I hope someone can add an English translation to this.

It *looks* like she started with a long-tail cast-on and then knit 1 more row. The technique itself looks straightforward, basically a folded edge. Anyone please correct me if she used a different cast-on.

wenn du das handy quer halten würdest, könnte man viel mehr sehen. du rutschst ständig links aus dem bild raus. die augen liegen auch nebeneinander und so ist auch das normale blickfeld. hochkant ist extrem unangenehm zu gucken.

It's certainly not for a beginner but I think I can follow what she's demonstrating enough to have a go, and I like the effect very much.
Actually I think it’s quite doable. It’s similar to making a folded hem by knitting the stitch on your needle with the corresponding cast-on stitch (or live stitch from a provisional cast-on). You can try using a fine cable needle in your left hand and sliding it into that lower stitch to then knit into.
Probably because the demo is done with very slippery needles and she tries to also show it correctly to the camera which is not easy if you have tried to record knitting video yourself :-) But I think it's worth the try!!!
