Great video! The rain was so relaxing at night, and this was one of my favorite campsites so far I think - thanks for meeting me there for my first authentic boondocking on Florida public lands! (I loved our camp setup 💚)
@@southerngirlyall6497 I actually filmed some of the reservation process (as soon as I remembered to, lol!) So hopefully you find that helpful once I post it next week! 🤞
Yeah, one of my favorites, too. I seriously think it's the first campsite I've stayed at in the past year that didn't come with any noise (screaming kids, loud music) well, the crows were a PITA at 5:30am, but they get a pass.
Ty so much for posting! I just got a Van last wk and am building it out, and I am so excited for my first adventure! I am in FL so I'm trying to pick an in state location.
You are so welcome! I bet you are so excited!! I hope to upgrade to a van in the future! There is a lot of free land out there to camp on. Pilot J and Love's Truck Stops are good, too. My first was a truck stop and second was Anastasia State Park, which was cool - because I had electricity. Good luck to you!!!!!!!!
First time to watch. I experienced a vault toilet at Land Between the Lakes. It wasn't too bad. The camp on the lake was really nice. I actually car camped with my 4 month old puppy and a small group of ladies.
Yeah, some are actually okay. This one, the door wouldn't close, so if someone walked up, they could easily walk in. And you car camped with a puppy??? LOL, I can't imagine, though I'm sure I would love it! 💙
So glad you’re having such good luck finding these free camping sites. You have so much space, and a fire pit! I’d stick with my own bathroom accessories also .. that bathroom was, eh - looked like a bad, stinky porta potty at a fair. Aw, the rain sounds SO nice! That or ocean waves are so relaxing. Looks like you had a nice time there. 💕
Nice free camping location. Sorry it rained but I also love that sound, so relaxing … awesome! That bathroom is a hard pass for me too. Yikes. I guess some have to use it it but it just looks like a portapotty bleh. Love that huge space for you & Heather. 💜
Really enjoyed this video! Gave me a better understanding of what it is like at these free camping places. I can now say with complete confidence...NO WAY IN HELL FOR ME! Only way I could do that is if I had a fully loaded luxury RV. And, even if I had that, I would not get out of it for fear of encountering a snake, a bear, or some other creepy critter (especially in flip flops). Just not for me. But, makes me even more impressed that you do it. More power to you!👍😊
Glad you enjoyed it! And glad that you now know that you will never do it. LOL - It's not as bad as you think, really it isn't. And I never once thought about a snake or bear. I was too concerned with the mosquitoes. I hate them more than anything!
You really should drive slowly...there is an abundance of wildlife. Hope they don't get hit by vehicles. Suggestion: wear closed toe shoes. This is a forest; not a beach. 🤔
I totally agree with you. I normally creep through parks and campgrounds - wasn't thinking, I was in a hurry to get our site. First come! And yes, no more sandals or flip flops. Thank you!! 💙

Would lobe to see a tutorial on how to navigate the reservation website. I can't seem to figure it out for next year's use.

I have trouble navigating it, too. Heather is a PRO.

Nice campground, yeah that vault toilet would be a no-go for me to. Liked your awning🙂
Thanks 👍 Yeah, not a fan of those toilets. I'd rather take care of business in my SUV. 🤨
We would love to do this!
Bring a potty. 😃 You will absolutely love it - if you're adventurous.
I recommend getting some stronger, longer canopy stakes.
Yeah, the ones that come with the awnings are horrible. It fell down a dozen times!! Thanks! Now to find them!

The bathroom looked really nice from the outside. That's how it is at free camping!! Thanks for commenting and watching. I really appreciate it!
I’ve seen a lot of vaults in Wisconsin. One had air fresheners lol
I just can't bring myself to use those kinds. I'm sure I'll have to some day down the road!!!

Yeah, it was very nice. I'm really looking forward to spending more time at some of the free land districts!!! I love FREE!
I need to connect to a group!
Are you in the Facebook Group, Butterfly Tracks? They have a lot of meetups!! Going on one in March.

Totally understand that! Mosquitoes can ruin any type of outdoor fun. I hate them, too!
