Legit thought they were pretty pointless until recently. Being able to track a suitcase in almost realtime through an airport was incredible.
This helps a lot!! I’m going on vacation in May with 4 young kids and I wanna put them as pendants just incase so hearing this comment helped me decide wether or not I’m getting them and I definitely am, thank you!
hey Damien, i was thinking about purchasing these airtags for the same purpose. one question, did you put the airtag inside the suitcase or did you have it attached to the handle? im wondering if that would affect the connection for the Find My app.
@@dillonpersaud inside my bags. You can tape into a corner or a pocket if you have those inside your luggage. If you put on a clip someone can just rip it off
I use one for my cat lol awesome thing. And yes it does work. But just because most of the neighbors uses Apple devices.
Keep in consideration that only use collar attach and not hanging holders for the AirTag. Otherwise is going to fall easily.

I have one of these in my car and truck. When my wife takes one of our vehicles to work, approx 10 min drive away it quite often does not track it. It shows it sitting in our driveway. Sometimes it will track it after an hour or so, but most of the time its useless it just shows it sitting in our driveway even after 12 hr. So I believe it would be of little value if the vehicle was stolen. Im very dissapointed in these. I also have the MILI tags with the same problem. Sometimes they work, more times they dont.

The title is, is it worth it 2 years later, but just goes on about how its always worked?
You should correct your video to state that the battery is a 2032 versus what you said, "2023." Otherwise, very helpful. 👍
I updated my phone to iOS 17 and my AirTag started tracking my phone instead of my bags basically I lost all my stuff…
What about luggage?
So what about putting one in a JEEP to track it if stolen?...
Or what about your flight luggage if it gets lost?...
Or what about your Childs backpack?...
All would work. Personally i want one for my bicycle, to attach it to the saddle. And indeed luggage during a holiday would be welcome
its not worth connecting it to bicycle in case it got stollen? if bike goes too far it wont track it?
If someone with an apple device comes near it then you will be able to get a location, even if you're on the other side of the world.
@@justjeetle and then when you get closer you should be able to find it with Bluetooth or use Ultra Wideband so it will guide you into the right direction.. Even without the Ultra Wideband (starting from iPhone 11) you could look at the Bluetooth strength, and still know which direction you would need to walk.
It will beep when other apple devices are near it so the thief can remove and dispose, this really is a shortfall of the airtag.@@ThePupil

So the tracker only works when it's in vicinity of a phone's Bluetooth that is turned on? I usually turn my Bluetooth off.
Most people keep it on, air pods , fitbits, headphones etc.
Bluetooth is a common source for data.

Sounds like a you problem. Most people use their phone to use in their car, Apple Watch, and headphones.

Seems like this really isn’t meant for theft. Just for misplaced/lost items.
Why not for theft? You can use the Find My option. And as long as it is in area where people can walk by with and apple product it is safe and sound.
you think people that steal things are going to make sure the stolen item is by enough iphones to hijack those peoples bluetooth to send a signal to the owner? I don't think so. @@ThePupil

Other people shouldnt be able to Find it, imagine a theif has an iPhone 🤣 he is being promted to contact u, well there ur option to Find ur item is gone 🤣 lol

If you have an Apple Watch you can use the signal button to locate your iPhone 😊

These are absolutely pointless. I have a brand new iPhone 15 Pro and every time I search for it it says the signal is weak and to move around. Finally recognizes it when I'm literally right on top of it. I bought it to put on my car keys so when I leave my keys out in the garage or some shit, I'd be able to locate them. Nope. That doesn't work.
You sure you dont have a crappy 2032 battery in it? Ive bought brand new packs of 2032 battery and other small batterys for watches and stuff, that were literally dead on arrival.
I say this because I never have a problem with my airtags and tracking them.
Its Apple way to give us false security, and then be able to put an Apple price tag on it 🤣

AIT Is a piece of junk. I have one on my cats collar. I have the best internet speeds and it never reads it. Amazon won’t refund me. They have stopped doing refunds for people who live out in the country.
