    I have a good handle on everything but the deep cleaning routines. More videos on that would be super helpful!

      Me too. I don't get them done in a timely fashion, so I always feel behind in this area.

    I struggle the most with deep cleaning. Honestly sometimes I am not sure what does need to be done. I bought the Motivated Moms program several years ago. Currently I have the book Clean Mama checked out of the library.

      Please know that you are not the only one! Deep cleaning can be really hard to get to. I go through busy seasons where zero deep cleaning gets done. Once I can pick it back up, I do. My best advice is to make a list of deep cleaning tasks that are the most import to you and prioritize those.

    What could it look like to combine the weekly prep with some of the weekly maintenance cleaning?

    Helpwith a weekly prep routine!!

    I love your weekly prep, it has been very helpful for me. I need help trying to figure out how to make zones fit into weekly cleaning. I feel like Ive got a handle on daily, weekly cleaning, laundry, and getting better at weekly prep. I tend to flutter around and cleaning what "looks like" it needs tending to with zones. And honestly I avoid what I do to want to do!
    I like how you broke down that one video on the 8 or 9 things you do in each zone. It might be helpful to see what you "add on" in the zones like you talked about?? And maybe how you rotate them? Similar to your video on how you tend to your meal planning/fridge clean out. Hope I'm making sense ❤

    Fantastic video. Do you lump paperwork and bill paying in with weekly reset?

    • @CarryGrace
      @CarryGrace  4 месяца назад +2

      I don’t, but you totally could. I try to address paperwork as it comes in (or on my admin day), and my husband pays all the bills.

    I just rotate some "deep cleaning" each week during my weekly maintenance cleaning. I pick one room each week to do a little extra cleaning in, similar to zone cleaning I guess.

    • @CarryGrace

    How did you build your daily routines from scratch? Did you have to start with micro steps? I have daily routines but not really daily cleaning routines. We are moving and I’m hoping with the new layout it will help since my baby’s room won’t be next to the kitchen so I can create the shiny sink habit.

    I’ve always been great at routines, even as a teenager, which is very unusual lol. I remember having a sheet of paper with my morning and evening routines written out. I’m still that way as an adult. My struggle is keeping up with the deep cleaning as the Fly Lady teaches. So I really look forward to your videos on zone cleaning. The suggestions you’ve made during those videos have made such a difference for me to keep on track. I appreciate how you’ve shared when something hasn’t worked and you’ve kept at it until you found what does work! Please know how much this means to me! Thank you!

    I work from home and have been trying to fit the deep cleaning routine into my day and it hasn't gone well. I like using my breaks for walks and my lunch hour for errands or just relaxing and reading. That's what I did when I went into the office.
    Watching this video gave me some clarity. I can fit in one load of laundry a day around work and that's about it. I need to stop trying fit in anything else.
    Thanks for giving me something to think about! Love your videos and the way you give suggestions for all types of lifestyles.

      I’m so glad this video gave you some clarity and will hopefully help you decide the best way for you to get some deep cleaning tasks in.
      I’ve had a lot of feedback, and deep cleaning seems to be where most are struggling. It’s going to take me a while, but I’m working on a video that will help give more practical ideas for this.

    Oh my goodness Nicole!!! I’m listening while getting ready for work and I’m nearly in tears! (Not really but kinda 😊) I have struggled for years with managing work and home responsibilities. This is one of THE BEST videos I’ve seen on how to set up and maintain home routines. And I appreciate that you included ideas for women that work outside the home! I’m so excited to try your ideas. I’m gonna watch again and take notes! 💜

    Is it proper to stay in your home while it is being cleaned
    If not how do you handle security issues?

      I’ve never actually had someone come clean my house. I would make sure to hire a reputable company or someone that can be recommended to you by a trusted friend. Then, I’d talk to them about expectations of you being there or not.

    Great video! Routines are key to my work schedule. I’m on a 4 week rotation with 12 hour shifts and 8 hour shifts. When I meal plan it isn’t “set in stone” but I know I have the ingredients for 5 meals and leftovers for my 12 hour days. Still trying to get the family on board with helping on the daily and weekly routines. This week I had 20 extra hours of work so nothing got done. It’s driving me crazy’s but they noticed too. It was kind of an “ahh moment” for them. I try to follow the PPP planner. Love her checklists.

    This was very helpful!
    My questions surround more around weekly and deep cleaning. I know you have tons of videos on this already and I would benefit to going back and watching! I struggle with keeping a consistent weekly cleaning routine. I also struggle with incorporating a deep cleaning schedule. I seem to do one or the other but have not mastered incorporating them together.
    I like the zone cleaning idea; however, each time I start this routine I get caught up in "stopping one zone" at the end of the week when it is not finished. I want to keep going and then it throws the weeks following off.

    • @CarryGrace
      @CarryGrace  4 месяца назад +2

      Have you ever tried deep cleaning by task? You may find that it works better for you if zone cleaning doesn’t seem to be working the way you want it to. Sometimes I switch it up and that helps me figure out where I can improve or change my expectations.
      You may try it and go back to zone cleaning with a new perspective or you may decide that cleaning by task helps you feel more accomplished.

      Deep cleaning is thing that I let go of when we get super busy. I just try to pick it back up when I can. No one is doing it all!
