Let me know if deep clean by Zone or Task?

As a person with ADHD I like a guided list. I get too sidetracked or overwhelmed if there is too much at once. I am not sure which one would work better for me.

I love the idea of a "Flex" Zone, thanks for sharing!

I preferred staying in one room, helps me stay focused BUT if I'm deep cleaning blinds I better do all that at once or it ain't getting done 😂

Dusting blinds is one of my least favorite things! 😅

I do both! Yes depends on the season of life too! I do seasonal deep cleaning, baseboards, crown molding behind fridge etc. I pick one a season to do this seasonal deep cleaning, things that only need sone once a year. Then I have monthly deep cleaning whenever I get to it. Things that need sone more often deep mopping as opposed to quick mop, deep dusting & polishing as opposed ti dry dusting etc.
I only have 3 zones I move through them one zone each season and sometimes take a break during the thanksgiving and Xmas etc
Each room gets touched lightly during daily chores every day. Mostly pick up and put away and quick mop & vacuum if needed.

Yes! Thank you for this video! Ive been breaking your videos down and thinking I'm ready now after this one to come up with my own unique plan! Glad you're back! ❤ I'm interested in some of your homeschool wisdom but understand if you want to keep that private or on another platform 😊

    Interesting
For me, I've referenced Flylady for a long while but never consistently and didn't know why. Your video of 9 tasks for each room (ceiling to floor) was great timing for me and I applied that list of things for each zone. So I now have evenly divided my rooms into 5 zones and check off the 9 tasks one day a week.
    Thank you!

Whole house task based cleaner here 🙋. I save time by getting supplies out once. Examples:
Saturday I get glass supplies out and do all the mirrors and windows that need attention.
Quarterly, I dust all the house fans/vents/lights in one session with the long pole duster.
Weekly, I feather dust all house.

My zones are like yours. I set up with task based thinking too. Get bath supplies out for all baths, zone 3.
Living & Family & hall use same supplies, so that is my zone 2.
I have 5 zones. 1-4 are every month. 5 is for remaining weeks, about 8-9 months a year.

    I am trying zone cleaning.

I a combo of both now. I use Flylady's zone cleaning, but I do a 6 week rotation. The first 5cweeks, I'm doing a zone per week. I took your flex zone idea and I love it.
Now, I break the zone cleaning g down by tasks, doing a different task eCh day. So, 1 day I de-clutter in that zone. If it doesn't need de-cluttering, Then I'll either do some re-orgsnisinv or I'll de-clutter in an area that's still in messy house boot camp. The next day, I'll deep clean the hidden areas (cabinets, drawers, etc) of that zone. The next day I'll deep clean the visible surfaces. The next day I'll do a detailed mopping, and the next day I'll detail vacuu. Also, I do different weekly cleaning g jobs ea h day, along with the zone ckeaning. The weekly ckeaning tasks are simple tasks. I save the quick non-detailed mopping and vacuuming g of tge main areas for the days when mop and vacuum in my zone, so that I'm not bringing out tge mop and vacuum multiple times throughout the week.

@@CarryGrace it took over 3 years of trying a sustem, tweaking g it a million times, trying another system, tweaking g it a million times then getting g to Flylady and tweaking it, and what I was already doing...but I got there lol. I didn't ever give up and recert back, though, so my extremely messy house has been very slowly, but steadily getting just a little tidier as I gp.
I have a new hack that helps me stay fo used on all my routines, not just housework. About a month or 2 ago (can't remember e actly), I showed my hubby a hilarious video of a comedian explaining what life is like with his ADHD wife, and I think I also showed him a video of someone simulating what goes on in an ADHD brain in a typically routine situation.
Aaaaaaannnnndddddd....that's when it dawned on him to come up with a tool to help me stay focused on whatever task or tasks I'm working on. He came up with task bracelets, and...go figure...I discovered that there actually IS such a thing. You can find it on tik tok and yt. There are several people out there using this method, a f they each have their own little spin on it. There's even one out there where the kady is using them to help her focus on building her business.
It made so much sense when my hubby suggested it. Ti.ers and alarms help me somewhat, but the one sense that is not stimulated yo help me start or stay focused on a task is touch. The bracelets provide touch I can "ferl" tge reminders on my wrist.
It really is helping alot with my morning, afternoon ad evening routines. I-I put all of my bracelets for one set of routines i.em morning routine). Each time I complete a task in that routine, I take the corresponding bracele off and drop in a "DONE" jar. If a task is in progress because it involves multiple smaller tasks that can't be done all at once, I'll move that bracelet to the opposite wrist while I work on another task. And when I finish the "on progress" task, I'll take it off and drop it in the jar. Once my wrists are free of bracelets, that routine is done, and I'm ready to either start on the next set of routines or to have some free time.
      I'm telling you, it's a game changer!

@@lovefortruth3414 Wow, I haven’t heard of these bracelets, but what a great idea. I’m so glad you have found something that is helping you.
And, yes, it takes tweaking the routines over and over.

@@CarryGrace they are also called chore charms. Tgere are several different types. You can use coil key chain bracelets, make your own alphabet bracelets, and there are even charm bracelets with "charms" for each task. I'm using key chain chain coils
