  • Try passwords:
    badboys
    password
    Password
    Password1
    The password badboys is one of the main passwords that was used. Probably when it was imaged by the IT people where the laptop was used. I might of even used it when I worked for the County but I can't remember. Anyway try badboys. All lower case first. Also try Password of course.
    Thanks
    Remember this might not work on all CF-30 laptops. Unless you did a step wrong it also might not clear the password. Sometimes you need to leave all power and the cmos battery unplugged AND try and turn on the laptop with no power hooked up to clear all power out of the motherboard. If it still won't work than the model you have is different than in the video. I got lucky 2 times off ebay and got some great deals. Thanks
    Please excuse the rawness of this video. I might edit it out a little bit to make it shorter but I will try it this way for now.
    This should work on pretty much anything. Any computer that you can get to the cmos battery give it a try first before sending the computer into tech support or paying for anything off the internet for a service.
    On newer machines it may or may not work since the bios password could be stored separately. These laptops are very nice and can be upgraded easily for cheap.
    Upgrade to 4G DDR2
    Upgrade to a 128G or 250G SSD for under $130. Make it a real nice computer.

      I wanted to get another one but they are getting hard to find at a cheaper price. The ones with the cd drive, ac adapter, hard drive with caddy and ram are good deal. But they are real old and not very fast. My dad uses his for ham radio stuff. Bob Johnson's computer service wants you to send it in and buy a new one so they can easily fix the cf30 and sell it for a huge price. When I tried the cmos battery trick and it worked I got another one and tried it out. This is the video.

    Thanks for helping me so very very much. You’ve saved me money not only on tech costs but also on the machines now worth purchasing! Additionally by using Mint Linux I am able to spend no Addison all funds for an OS. The Mint OS distros allow full functionality and OBII software capabilities. So in summary for $325. I have a MilSpec laptop with a new 1 TB SSD, New Longlife Battery - 9hours, replaced and calibrated Touchscreen. It runs my shooting software with GPS, works with my automotive tuning software, etc!!!! They truly are the best machine for so many uses. The BIO’s issue was the keystone to making it all work. Thank you

      Great! Glad to help out. I have noticed this video sure gets a lot of views. More than I expected. I wish I wasn't wearing my pajamas! Those CF-30's are very cheap to find on Ebay. Problem is you have to buy a DVD Drive, HD Caddy and HD, Memory and Windows 7 if you want to go windows at least. So it's expensive to start out. My dad got a CF-30 I fixed and I put in a Samsung 850 Evo 250G and maxed out the ram. That thing is very fast for it's age. Little slower than I wanted so I found a CF-31 and sent it to a guy on Ebay who was able to crack the bios password for me. Another CF-31 I found I guess the password was " Password " in the bios! What luck! The i5 3220 cpu is the one you want. It is the 3rd gen i5 and it is quick. The next one up is just way too expensive. Put all your upgrades in that one like the SSD and 16G of ram! That will just fly. My dad used his CF-31 for field day at a ham fest with the N1NM logger program and it had no issues at all Rock solid. I have seen others on Craigslist with claimed 5K software for big trucks and other automotive software go for a crazy price. Problem is once you know how easy it is to fix then you can keep buying them. They are very good machines. Thanks again and I'm glad to help anybody out!

    Just saw a company that charges $125 PLUS TWO SHIPPING CHARGES AND INSURANCE! to unlock a CF-30 Toughbook! So I’ll add that cost to the amount of money your videos and swift and accurate emails have saved me when building and deploying Toughbooks to our contractors! Or conversely your video has caused the Economic Destruction of several tech support shops. Forget abbbbbooout it! You did a great thing here.

      Yep. Thanks alot! bobjohnson.com They charge a TON to do anything or for any parts. I found a CF-31 on ebay and took a chance. I guess the password like I mentioned before I think and that was a great deal. The other one I paid a guy on ebay to unlock it. As long as it wasn't a newest model he could unlock it which he did. He claimed that he wrote a program to take it out. Another company would charge 500 bucks to do the same thing. But Bobjohnson wants YOU to send the cf 31 and buy one of there's. That isn't a good idea. They are going to make 1000 off of it. The CF30 is very easy to break open. Maybe I can buy the one I am watching off ebay and do another video to totally prove it that they are just making money off you. Being like that I don't like. Sure you have to make money. But not by swindling good people.

    OMG, I reset the bios to default settings after installing the GPS module. Thinking it wouldn't hurt. Well, here's a warning, resetting the bios to Factory Settings, or pulling the CMOS Battery will enable the BIOS passowrd EVEN if you currently don't have one. This password was baked in at the factory per the customer's order specification. I did not know. Bricked my CF-19. So I'm trying "admin" "adminstartor" "admin123" as the passowrd. Giving up, and just for the heck of it, I type "password" and it accepted it!!!!! OMG, I'm saved. Thank you lord. Lesson learned. Don't reset to default, or pull the cmos battery. Other people on youtube had success with "badboys" as the password for older models. Who knows, give a try for the most commonly set passwords, and you have luck.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  5 лет назад

      This guide is only for the cf-30. Might work and might not. Newer cf-30 have issues so it might not work. Standard passwords should always be tried out. Setting to the factory defaults wouldn't setup a password either. Glad you got it unlocked with a password.

    FYI This doesn't work on CF-31 and if you send it in to Heartland they will charge 500 to remove it. They want you to buy a new one and give them the locked one so they can unlock it and sell it for 3k or something ridiculous . Check out ebay auctions for there are a few that might have the tools to remove the password cuz I did and it works fine now. But the older ones like cf-30 you can easily get the password removed by taking out the cmos battery.

      Hey there, No the CMOS didn't work since it has a much newer motherboard this trick does not work for newer systems like I figured but to answer everyone's question yes I figured how to get rid off the password on the 53 model takes time, in total around 2hrs but after this password is cleared and ready to be messed with, I couldn't even load windows because I think the USB Boot was disabled while password was active but now ok.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  6 лет назад

      Rick L yep figured that since it isn't the model I used to make it work. there are people on eBay that can possibly remove it if you can find one.

      Na I figured it out myself, I hold a belt in several things regarding computers like went to school for it long ago back then it was a lot easier, all I can say about this one is first this is my first toughbook and second this is the most pain in the ass to work on because you have to fully disassemble if you need to get to the motherboard compared to some HP's or DELL's

Put in the ssd and the 16g of ram and they are still nice. But the batteries are junk and you can't really find one. • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  5 лет назад +1

      Yes this works on not only a Panasonic but many other brands too. Its been around for many years. Have to do the process correctly though. Take out cmos battery. Take out regular battery. Remove ac adapter. Try and turn it on with no power so no power is left. Let it sit with no cmos battery for about 10 min or let it sit a while longer. Then try and turn it on and it should be cleared out. Many had success but 1 person might of not done it right or he may had a newer cf-30 and that is why it wouldn't clear. There is also a password in the description and it works on many so you can try that too.

      barry k. Thanks boss. I'm looking at a CF-30 MK3 on ebay and in the pictures, there is one of the BIOS information tab, and on the very bottom it says "Access Level: Supervisor"
      The seller doesn't know the supervisor password so really not sure how to fully unlock it. That would be great if this same process works.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  7 лет назад

      Well I got 2 CF-30's off ebay and both where locked with a bios password. Now that doesn't mean it won't boot off a cd and then install windows on an ssd or mechanical drive. They disable certain ports depending on where it came from. But I know for a fact you can take off the bottom like I did and unpug the cmos battery. Let it turn on and then restore defaults. The password should be removed. But of course on that model you would get off ebay might be different. My CF-31 I put in password and the password and that worked. I haven't tried to unplug the cmos battery on that one yet and test it.

    • @urbancowboy199
      @urbancowboy199 7 лет назад

      barry k. No, mine is a cf30 as well but I just want to make sure that before I buy it if your process will remove that supervisor access level because the seller doesn't know the supervisor password.

    • @barrysauce
      @barrysauce  7 лет назад

      Yah I know you are thinking about getting the CF-30 off ebay. I can't guarantee that it will work but from what I did on 2 different CF-30 I think it should work. On the newer models which are the CF-31 I think they made it so the bios password was stored in another location so that trick will no longer work.

  • @jefffields6647

I sent one of mine in and the guy removed it since he made a custom program or he just happens to have the one from Panasonic to remove the passwords. Other companies do and they will buy yours and remove it and sell it. Don't give up . Try and remove the cmos again no battery no cmos battery no power cord. Try and turn it on and hold the power button down and leave it after all power is gone. Might take a day. Guides online to physically remove something off the board and can do that. Alek Dudka you pulled the bottom off and unplugged the cmos battery? And pulled the regular battery? also holding the power button down with no ac adapter plugged in? if it's a newer cf-30 than what I had i can say its possible it won't work. nut removing the cmos is usually all you need to do.

      Winders 10 won't run too good on those. 32bit cpu. Have to use windows 7 32bit. Runs the best.

      @@barrysauce yes of course I read it and saw the video which is fine, but I am COMMENTING that if someone occupies the password of the CF-31 is password

      @barrysauce  5 лет назад

      @@jorgerodriguez4239 oh ok your previous comment was in Spanish and the didn't say that after I used a translator. Yes users usually know to try the common passwords first. There are a few in the description.

      I mean what you wrote didn't make sense so that is why I was asking. But in the description there are a few possible passwords but usually the people or techs working on them already know to try password or badboys.

      The guide is only for a cf 30 and even then it may or may not work.
