@@MORGANSMaintenance If we need one, we go Flir. But spending $1000-2000 for a tool that is used 5 times a year just doesn't make a sense. If we'd do professional thermal imaging - ok. But for this proxy applications, we go cost efficient.
@@chuckdawg3214 I haven’t used one that I really like. I tried a few but haven’t had much success with them. It’s been awhile since I have tried one though, maybe they have improved
It reminds me of a probability better version of the kobalt one I got on clearance. That one is hot garbage but like you said it makes a point at best. We arnt building inspectors here a quick look here and there is exactly what I need. Can't be mad at that price point I had been watching a katawattis or whatever that brand one that's camera/cell phone style. The lowest that one dropped to was 299 which is still a pill. Glad to see another option and maybe fingers crossed 🤞 one makes it's way to a giveaway one of these days. I still appreciate the last one and what we got use it many times a week!
You said the picture isn’t the greatest, but it looked good considering you were 2 handing it with an iPhone.. might have to get that. I’d definitely go for the “phone” form factor…nice video my friend.
@@brianhall9019 it’s really good for the price in my opinion. I’ve not had a Flir or anything, so I just want people to know “it may not be the best” but at the price it’s really good (my opinion)
Oooh, very interesting. I liked the touch screen also. I bought an imager that attaches to my phone, but haven't tested it yet. I need to do that, but this one will go into a "Morgan's fault" category if the other one doesn't let me see things like the heat distribution on my HVAC evaporator coil or heat sink performance on PC components.
@@OnusBones yeah I had wanted a phone shape one. The attached to the phone is really nice to share the findings, but it just takes a few more minutes usually to get it going. They all have their pros and cons
I wonder if from the camera it can be uploaded directly into a phone. Via usb-c to usb-c cable. Unless it’s a software on the computer actually needed. Vs just opening a pop up file an clicking save
Interesting, I have not heard of HFSTools before, availability does not look good in the UK although they look very similar to HIKMicro cameras. Do like the overlay and picture in picture formats on the HP96.
Love IR cameras. One of those "cool tools", When I need to send off a picture from the camera, I normally just take a picture of the thermo-camera's screen. Lot better than trying to figure out how to send it through the camera itself.
@@CONCRETECOWBOY88 it doesn’t say in the manual. You can probably see stuff farther away, but the temperature may not be accurate. You have to set the distance you are away to help with accuracy and I think the farthest setting is 13 feet. You may still see colors past that, you just might not be able to trust the temp
Thank you for the honesty as always Joey. We trust you, your opinions and reviews.
@@woodchuck211 appreciate it 👍
Thanks Mr. Joe. Always great reviews no matter the tool. Thanks again, man:)
You are welcome 👍
Really great price points on both products! Cheers mate
I think so too 👍
Good honest review.
As with those kind of tools - price makes up for any flaws.
@@Stefan_Kawalec agree. It may not be the best, but it’s in a price point for someone who doesn’t need the best

Do you have a recommendation for an inspection camera for inspecting behind walls, etc?

These are good for the money I think… at least for now. Depends on how long it lasts I guess

I can try and see… maybe on an android but I’m sure I can’t on an iPhone. It doesn’t mention it in the instructions

Wooooooo just in time for lunch/dinner lol
