I went to HF and they needed to go into the back to get them. I'm actually not a fan of them and would pay Snap-On money for something you pointed out. I absolutely hate the handles but not for the same reason you do. My issue is being in Florida I have had many rubber products sit in my garage and just break down. They start to get sticky and fall apart. I can't tell you much I hate that feeling. These are sticky to the touch. It just reminds me how rubber and plastic break down in our heat and humidity. The pliers themselves feel great and my pair moves to that middle position very easy. I know it sounds nuts but I dislike the feel so much of the sticky handles I am going to give these to one of my guys and buy both sizes of Snap-Ons.

You will find hardness differences from run to run. Also harder is not necessarily better (or worse). The harder the steel, the more brittle it is. Japanese knife steel is harder than German knife steel. That’s why Japanese knives hold sharper edges at lower blade bevel angles. It’s also why they are so much more fragile and easily chipped. Some people prefer a knife that will hold a razor-sharp edge but must be handled like a baby. Others prefer a knife that doesn’t hold a razor edge as long, but can be sharpened or honed more quickly and withstand abuse like being dropped or tossed into a sink full of dishes. Both have their unique advantages and disadvantages. I can think of many situations where I would want my pliers to be a little bit softer than the material they are biting on. I can think of situations where it would be better if they were harder…but not so hard they will break.
I agree to some point I don't want a tool rc 64 unless it's a fine knife edge. Many cheaper tools can be way under mid 30s or 40s qualifying as butter 🧈 pliers. for me it not about price, its about the quality, the fit and finish and being made in America. also snap on has been in business for over 100 yrs while icon is a brand from a store that throws all sorts of brands out there to see which ones stick. i know snap on will be here in 20 yrs. will icon? i like that 90% of my tools in my tool boxes say "made in USA" because i know if i ever go to sell them i will get close if not higher resell price than when i bought them BECAUSE they are made in America. whats the resell value on tawainese/chinese tools? exactly.

Ordered those from HF last night. LOL.....had to add a couple of things to justify that shipping charge.
I hate paying shipping… but I also done have time to look at the store 30 times checking if they have them 😂
#SNAPCON Always enjoy your tool review videos. I like how you give real life scenarios on where you would use the tool. More than once, I found myself thinking, I never would have thought of that.
@@NoAlvarez glad it helps… good luck 👍
Wow, great tools, very practical ! Count me in ! #Snapcon

Just found the channel liked and subscribed. Nice content
@@JamesAdams86 glad you found me 👍👍
#snapcon love the blue colored handles
@@stupakjim I like that you can get different colors
I went to pick them up today and they said they had four this morning and sold them out in an hour or two. I was able to order them online like you.
I think that’s probably your best bet. My buddy said two other guys were in the store asking for them when he picked them up
#SNAPCON Been liking Harbor freight a lot more lately. They seem to be just as good as most high end tools, cheaper, easy warranties, and they do have a decent USA made products.
I have bought a few more tools there in the last little bit, I just do go in mine real often… it’s in a weird area of town I’m unusually never in
#snapcon Great video I am looking to add more Icon stuff in my tool box.

I have both. Very small differences. #SNAPCON

I’d be pretty interested in trying those out, look pretty handy for working on overhead doors
@@dinopatsiouras 👍👍 good luck
I've seen a few comparisons, bur haven't seem any tests of these #snapcon pliers
I just got them out of the package.. I’m mostly letting you know they are out there so you can get them before they sell out.
I’m sure test videos will be hitting RUclips soon.
@MORGANSMaintenance hey MM, I wasn't calling anyone out. I just really want to see some actual tests 👍🏽 I haven't been free to visit HF, but I'm going to see if they have some "in the back" the first chance I get. My wife said she will try tomorrow (she works across the street from one of our local HFs, but doesn't have a lot of time before work and they close before she gets out).
I didn’t take offense… most people have had to ask if they have them in the back, so you may send her with a picture
@@MORGANSMaintenance for sure 👍🏽
love your videos and tool recommendations! #snapcon
@@riskmandel1 appreciate it 👍
#SNAPCON I’ve been waiting on these for a while!

I have the 7” Blue Snapons and love them! Dont use them everyday but when I need them they work! Ill have to check out the Icons to save some money for more tools! I think I paid $60 off the truck for my pair. #Spancon
Yeah I couldn’t find a truck near me when I was looking… sounds like I could have saved a little money
I've been waiting for these #SNAPCON pliers in my local store, haven't got there yet.
Hopefully they will get them on the shelves soon 👍
Very helpful info, thanks for high quality tool videos! #SNAPCON

#snapcon thanks for all the reviews; you have spent my money well! 😂

I'm in the process of expanding my auto tools since helping family a lot the past year with auto electrical problems. What tool do you show at 3:03? You flip it the wrong way for identification. I'll check the Icon's out as I do not own any parallel pliers yet and these look super useful. #snapcon
They are the Knipex Extended Reach pliers amzn.to/3PTnE0o
Love your videos. Great comparison on these pliers. #snapcon
@@musicmandrummer appreciate it.. Good Luck 👍
#snapcon they look really close sure took them a long time to come out with them my store doesn't have them yet on display
I know… most people have been having to ask people to check in the back… which means it depends what kind of workers your HF has
for me it not about price, its about the quality, the fit and finish and being made in America. also snap on has been in business for over 100 yrs while icon is a brand from a store that throws all sorts of brands out there to see which ones stick. i know snap on will be here in 20 yrs. will icon?
i like that 90% of my tools in my tool boxes say "made in USA" because i know if i ever go to sell them i will get close if not higher resell price than when i bought them BECAUSE they are made in America.
whats the resell value on tawainese/chinese tools? exactly.
👍
I can agree, but I never had any respect to my tools. I always beat the living shit out of them so I really don’t give a flying shit what I buy, I go with whatever. I got snapon I got icon. I buy everything that looks good. Cornwall Mac sk MILWAUKEE, HART. ZEROFUKSGIVEN
