One of the most fun tournaments to watch, despite all the delay. I considered going to t to the event, but the weather was booty. Really happy to see all the new champions, makes pro pickleball feel more REAL! Julie Johnson is one of the nicest people out there - she's always smiling.
The Parenteau/Johnson singles match is the perfect example of why switching at 6 is stupid. It's always more fair to switch at 7, and depending how strong the advantage is it could be better to switch even later.
@@ScottT109 Think about if one side had such an advantage (i.e. "the good side") that the team on the good side won 100% of rallies. After 6 rallies, the score would be 6-0, at which point they switch sides. After 11 more reallies, the team who ended on the good side would win 11-6. They recieved an advantage because they spent 11 rallies on the good side vs the other team only getting 6 rallies on the good side. Obviously in reality the side never has a 100% advantage, but it makes my logic clear.
You're going to have to include this point on next week's broadcast. I think they make a sizable amount of money on amateur tourneys so they need to have it at same time which means weeekend mornings and afternoons Tends to be the time most people are busy doing other things like playing pickleball
