OP from the 1st story means the "I cook, you clean" mom and i have a similar rule, i don't cook much but when i do she'd clean, unless she's not feeling well. One of the ONLY times i dont clean is when its my birthday and same with her. Anyhow its a common rule in a household as a way to divide chores. Yes i know my grammer and spelling is terrible, IDC got to finish the dishes b4 sunrise.
I'm a clean as I go person. When I cook, I also clean. Establishung this in the beginning of a relationship or riommate situation is much easier. Then, to be he nice, you can clean a few things as the ither cooks to hopefully train this. It worked a (very) few times so it isn't hopeless.
Story 3: NTA OPs sister needed that reality check ESPECIALLY since she’s been harassing the mother of Jared’s kids. Also the “I won’t be a deadbeat to these kids” is absolutely disgusting. I hope the sister doesn’t take it out on OP when the obvious happens 🙄
Regarding the cologne: I'll bet that the parents DID NOT pay that much for the cologne--which is why they made a big deal about the price. I suspect one of the following: 1. It is a knock off; or 2. Someone gave it to them and it has been "re-gifted" to OP. Maybe an old yard-sale find.
3:58 Mistake right there. No need to share WHICH flight OP is going on, unless, for some reason, people let it out the bag or OP broadcasts every bite of toast and location on social media. In which case, too bad. Private things should be kept private. It doesn't mean someone is doing anything wrong, it's just not someone else's business.
I cook and my boyfriend cleans and when he asks me to soak dishes or rinse them out to make his job easier, i do my best and when i forget, he reminds me and I do better the next time.
The Last Opie should order a second meal to take home then insist that everything should still be split evenly. Bet that The Family would take exception at having to subsidise his second meal, no? One place where I worked, this group liked to occasionally go to a restaurant on the odd Friday to eat, and I was invited in. I wasn't crazy about the food, ordered something small (pretty sure it was mac'n'cheese baked in its own dish), and coffee. Everyone else loaded up on sides like mozz stix and calamari, which they kept on *their* side of the table. Plus bottles of wine to split amongst themselves. Then they wanted to "split the bill". Honestly don't recall if I got suckered the first time or if I did the smart thing, but every subsequent outing, I tallied up my damage, added for tax and generous tip, and that was it. Eg, mine could've been 11bux but the split would've been 23 or so. Again, just repeated what I ordered, that I didn't touch any of the sides (not like I had 11ft long arms anyway), and that was what I was paying for. Not nasty, just matter-of-factly. That started a pretty nasty snowball, because 1-2 others who didn't booze it up nor fill their faces on sides "for the table" started doing the same. And the freeloaders actually had to start paying their own way.
Regarding the nephews: NTA! Buddy, you had better dump that girlfriend, now! You owe your girlfriend's sisters NOTHING! You are providing shelter, food, and probably a whole lot else. She is going to end up demanding that you pay for cars, college, and weddings for those girls. Regarding splitting the bill: of course your family wants YOU to help foot their bill! Never do that! Ever!
Story five has a simple put up or shut up solution. . The stepfather deposits 100,000 in an escrow account that the child gains control of when they reach majority. In return The child agrees to change their surname but not be adopted. At that point the child now adult can do what they want with their name.
#1. NTA. OP's wife appears to be extremely disorganized! My SIL is so extremely organized that there are almost no dishes to do when we sit down to eat. I am not as organized; so there are more dishes--and I do them myself! OP's wife can either learn to clean up as she goes, or she can choose to cook much simpler meals. You CAN make meals that are nutritious & delicious--but are simple to prepare. #2. NTA. Absolutely NOT! Don't do it, or you will not be able to shake her during your honeymoon! Who cares if she or other friends are offended? She absolutely KNEW and she PLANNED to be on your flight. Yes, that person is not really your "best friend." She will insinuate herself into your honeymoon. She is jealous. She will want to be on every tour. She will--by chance, LOL--be in your hotel and will eat at the same time in the same restaurant... LET HER GO!
I don't think the OP in the last story is an asshole, but I personally live by the lyric from the Ziggens song, "Let's not split hairs, let's split the cost." When I was in high school people wanted to split the bill evenly and it resulted in everybody paying an extra hundred bucks or so because it made us miss our train. That said, my friends are reasonable about things and if someone ends up with a significantly more expensive meal they'll often either throw in extra on their own or they'll buy the first round of drinks the next time we go out.
That may be the case most of the time but when you can’t afford it, like OP says they can’t, it means the difference in being able to eat the next day or not. And you know their family isn’t gonna be pitching in anytime soon

she will because that's all she can do when she's been proven right and she doesn't want to admit that

Story 6: apologies and sell the cologne after
