What. A. Series. This series made me so damn proud to be a cardinals fan. I had the honor to be at the game where Beltran threw a gene saving toss from the outfield. There is no game you will ever be at that compares to the feeling of a tight game in a World Series. There is just nothin like it at all
Since I’m generally an unbiased baseball fan, I’d usually root for the team that hadn’t won a World Series in awhile unless they had a player I didn’t like. So by that logic I would’ve rooted for the Rangers but I just couldn’t help but root for that 2011 Cardinals team. In game 6 of that WS, Joe Buck said “They just won’t go away”. That was 100% true, not only were they down to their final strike in that game but they were 10.5 games back from the Braves in the Wild Card that year at one point and eventually came back. That Cards team was such a fun one to watch, one of my favorites as a baseball fan.

I mean, I'm an A's/Giants fan and I dislike STL because they are so annoying by always being in the mix of World Series contenders and I wanted Milwaukee or Detroit to win the World Series, but this World Series and postseason were both lit and I wanted the Cardinals to beat the Rangers since I dislike the Rangers more.

Just one of those moments in all of baseball where you just have to sit there and go “wow. Baseball is unpredictable” as a Cardinal fan I give a tip of the hat to the Rangers cause this was easily one of the greatest games of all time. I got the honor of going to game 1 and watching. Once you go to your favorite teams World Series, you realize there is no moment in baseball that gives you that adrenaline rush. It’s just amazing and an experience that I will never forget

I was at this game! I believe I got to witness the greatest world series game ever. How about them Cardinals!
It got me when he said "They just wont Go. Away." I was at my friends when I saw this and let me tell you, that night didnt end. It was the most amazing comeback and every day in baseball season I have been watching this because I am a damn proud Cardinal and this gets me so hype. This video reminds me even in our losing wildcard race that WE WONT GO AWAY

this game drove Josh Hamilton to start drinking he had quit for like 10 years and Napoli said he still has nightmires. this game scarred souls. Whoever says 2016 Game 7 is better is a cancer to society.

Lifelong Cards fan here. 2016 G7 was pretty epic, there's really no debating that. I do think this game was better, and not just cuz it's my team - the back and forth slugfest, the multi-run lead changes in back-to-back do-or-die innings, then the walk off from the hometown kid, I mean, seriously, who writes this shit? The difference is that 2016 G7 would have been an exciting game even in the regular season (think back to the Cards/Cubs Sandburg/McGee game), but 2011 G6 would have been totally unbelievable even in spring training. It was incredible as a standalone game, and was played under incredible circumstances. I would imagine that this debate will go on and on through the years, and deservedly so, particularly because of the century-long Cards/Cubs rivalry, but that's my 2 cents on the topic.
Also, I wish the Cubs hate would stop. I'm a Cards fan for life but I love the Cubs. The rivalry is wonderful and friendly and in my view better for the game than the shit talking that comes out of the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry - those two teams fans are loud mouth, bandwagoning assholes for the most part. I find both Cards and Cubs fans to be quite dedicated, as well as knowledgeable about the game and at least their teams history, if not many teams histories.
Man I swear Allen Craig was so clutch for us!!! People forget the major huge hits that he had in this series.
So many guys stepped up man it was just so cool.

Greatest game I ever saw. Big Cards fan here, but nearly wept upon seeing Wash. Loved him & Rangers, too. Something tells me the Astros are going to give Texas their first WS championship - and soon. Rangers did well this year & I bet they will be back.

To this day, that World Series is the most beard ripping jittery series I've ever watched. I was at what I think was the second game and it was just...damn. You've never seen true baseball until you've gone to a World Series game. This game I was at my friends house and the first words that came out of my mouth were "this is gonna be a gun fight" when the cards won...man I was up all night celebrating. The end we have extra innings with a walk-off homer in. I mean what could be better than to have so much ups n downs, lead changes, homeruns, last pitch/outs hits and walk off. Berkman was the true underrated hero of this game
I had been working on the road for my first steady job out of college for over half a year. That night I was at my parents home gathering anything worth moving permanently from central Illinois to Michigan the next day. We were all so stressed trying to get things packed and ready for the next day. My dad and I were arguing over something that 9th inning when Freese hit that triple. We all stopped and watched the rest of the game. We were celebrating so hard, jumping and screaming. The rest of the night, our packing was more efficient than Mary Poppins. Moved into my apartment the next day and we watched them win it in Michigan. I do feel bad for Texan fans though.

Nelson Cruz should never taken the field in the 9th. Ron Washington seriously needed to make a defensive replacement. Cruz clutzed that triple, which any decent RFer would have caught. I thank Ron Washington. I thank Nelson Cruz for not working on his defense. I was stunned. A TRIPLE with 2 outs in the 9th. Nobody imagines a triple. Homers, yes. A triple. Geez Louise.

It may make since given his WS numbers. But it would have been career suicide to make that call if he dropped a bomb that ended the game. He was the best hitter of his generation, and arguably top 5 all time.
