Hi Olivia, I really enjoyed your video! My husband and I, along with our two kids (ages 25 and 13), are planning a ski trip in January. Our itinerary includes 1 day in Zurich, 1 day in Bern, 5 days in the Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen area, and 3 days in Geneva. Is it cheaper to buy individual train tickets for Zurich to Bern, Bern to Grindelwald, and Grindelwald to Geneva? Or would it be better to get a Swiss Half Fare Card or a Swiss Travel Pass Flex? I saw it;s free for kid if one adult has one of the swiss pass
That’s a really great base to explore the Bernese Oberland region! Not to mention with beautiful views of Lake Thun and also the wonderful sceneries from the castle above. Well chosen! 👍 Tip: there is a superb, authentic Thai restaurant in Thun called Mae Lek, check it out!
Too Good To Go sounds great. I'd be interested if you have any other ideas about eating cheaply. What are good supermarkets to shop at and are there any cafes where you can eat more cheaply?

I went for 7 Days in Switzerland and i payed almost 500franks for the Swiss Travel Pass i was shocked. And also they didn't told me that it didnt Cover all the Gondola Travel you still pay 50% of it. Basel though is more expensive than Luzern in Basel 1 small Cappuccino of Coffe, 1 small Scoop Ice Scream Costs 6franks . I stayed in Lauterbrunnen Hostels also Costs 100ffanks and you stayed with other People in the room
I am sorry to hear that! It is true. The Swiss travel pass excludes the cost of special mountain excursions. It only entitles you to a 50% discount for most, just like the half fare card. The price you mentioned is typical for Swiss cities. Nevertheless, I find that it is possible to still get food for cheaper especially in supermarkets like Migros, Denner or Lidl. Finally, there are free activities to do like hiking and taking in the surrounding sceneries, plus visiting museums on the first Sunday of the month (they are free!) and since you had the STP, most would have been covered too.
A tip to travelers , i am swiss, get a hotel with bed and the breakfast. Don't be cheap in Switzerland! We don't aprieciate it. Travers, if you can't afford the costs, then stay home!

Not sure what you are referring to. The Swiss Travel Pass includes access to museums and attractions including the Chillon Castle, Transport Museum, Matterhorn Museum and more. In June I would say that a very fair price for hotels per night would be between 150-180CHF. It is harder to get a “cheaper” rate, for two of the reasons I mentioned in this video: 1) you are going in June, a peak season, and 2) Wengen is also a top tourist spot!
