Man, I like your attitude and attention to detail! Form, fit, & function, all hallmarks of a job well done. I especially liked the use of the Rhino label system, which I think wire was invented for. The heatshrink labels are durable, easy to read, and don't peel. Keep getting it done like that!
That was absolutely the greatest transformation of a bass boat I have ever seen! what a great team you are all. Your in a league of your own Great job.
I had that exact boat but it was the bass master classic it was used in the bass master classic championship my friend bought it brand new in Springfield Missouri right after they fished it in the bass masters classic I was the second owner. It was a great boat. Wish I still had it to pass it down to my son. Great job restoring this one.
Rocking the Drain Raider sweatshirt at 10:20 in. Hell ya dude. I redid my 85 373v this last year and still finding little things to upgrade here and there. Your videos were super helpful and informative. Your boat turned out great dude.
@@MealeyMarine I sent the video link to Art immediately when I seen it. Crazy to see an Oregon team sweatshirt make it all the way to you guys. That's awesome.
Nice. I have a 87, 373 bass master classic that I need to get off my ass and fix. I want to replace the old Johnson engine with a newer used and more fuel efficient unit. Other than that I love my old ranger. These are great little boats.
Beautiful work guys. I do this for a living and have to say I’m impressed. Did sanding that gel coat not help with oxidation? I’ve never seen 400 keep it from coming back without sanding.
That’s the most complete restoration I’ve seen on RUclips. Including the trailer. That’s the only time I’ve seen anyone do the trailer. Lots of hard work into a beautiful restoration.
wonderful restoration. I do question the trailer restoration instead of just buying a new one considering you made the boat "like new"...even the boat is questionable on why...but we've all been there at one point in our insanity!! :) Not trying to hate at all. I'm just getting older and I weigh the pros and cons on everything factored in with what my time is worth, my added stress level...how much time I don't really have. But again you did great!
Wow! That was an amazing job! I've got an old Cajun bass boat that I want to restore like this. All the new boats on the market are great looking, but I just love the way older bass boats looked. Growing up on Lake Fork in the 80's & 90's, I saw so many of them every time a tournament rolled in & those older boats are still what I like.
Wow that looks incredible. I’m doing this on a 19’6” champion my dad bought 30 years ago, been sitting 10 years since he passed can’t wait to take that first ride in it and bring back those memories.
I worked at a ranger dealer for a few years. Loved working on these old rangers. I believe this model had a wood transom before they went to fiberglass. My mentor always told me to put the bottom motor bolts with the nut on the inside to keep water from running up the threads.
@@garlingoins2988 some say it was a myth but that’s the way I was taught to install them. Theory makes since and I didn’t question his experience over what little I had at the time. That old man taught me a ton about boats.
What a great job you did. I restored a boat about 15 years ago and it was alot of work. Still have it to this day. What you did was a extensive restoration even rebuilding a motor very impressive. Here's to you and many many happy hours on the water.
Came up Great but what after all that? You just going to show us a 5 second drive past on the water? No! Demo of the live well running that’s it! Zip!….. no worries good job
This is the boat my parents had when I was growing up. Though, I think the engine was a Mercury. Really cool to see this and remember those days growing up in the Ozarks on Table Rock Lake!
I wish I had the tools to do this to my boat. I have a 17ft ranger that needs this 😔 I’ve done the carpet but that’s about all I’m able to do. Nice video and nice freaking work!
I'm impressed! Now you gotta go shopping for some fish finders. How did y'all get the shine on the fiberglass.? Machine buffing with mcquires oxidation removal solution isn't working too well for us. Also, what did y'all glue the carpet down with? We are restoring an '84 Ranger now. Don't forget to replace the steering rack and pinion under driver's console. Ours jammed on us going 25 mph with a 115 up mercury tower of power resulting in a scary situation.
I was thinking the same thing. But, maybe it's like with some classic cars that paint finish has aged. So, the current finish, blemishes and all are clear coated over to preserve the patina.
Looks like its time to start putting it to work ..jajaja .I just got back from the southern Colorado river in yuma az. For 3 days in my 83 372 ..the new boats are way to expensive and don't catch any more than this fishing machine.
I’m very curious about the condition of that 35 year old transom. It’s gotta be a better investment to buy a new or newer used boat then to pay all these guys who knows how much to have all this done.
The best thing I did to my Champion was getting rid of the mechanical steering and went with hydraulic, after that I will never own another boat without it. But I did my transom and gel coat also.
Great series. I have a 1988 373v w 150 Black Max I am getting back in shape. I have assumed the defensive option ( only fix it if it breaks) for now. I was wondering if you had a parts list for the restoration. I would like to use a lot of the products that you used.
Well done sir. Reminds me of my old man's '74 Ranger he bought at the factory in Texas. Caught my first bighead bass in that Ranger @ Stillwater Lake. Still have the fever. Thank you!
How much does a restoration like this cost? I need to do everything but the paint on my 92 SeaRay. After watching this, I think it’s a bit to big of a job for just me to tackle.
I watched this build from start to finish when it came out. Each video culminating in an awesome montage.I came back to watch it again and I’m still just as impressed with the detail that went into this. Awesome job guys👍🏽
after all you did to this boat i was thinking you would pull out the fuel cells even that you dident im still impressed with this its almost a new boat looks amassing
I know this might sound incredibly ignorant, I just bought my first bass boat Friday, it was this model. (The 88 ranger 393v) I'm quite forgetful and I was wondering, if you could remind me in the start up process. It runs, he took me out Friday. The only kid is they removed the oil injectors so I mix the gas when I fuel up and a hot foot. I got the process of plugging, priming the ball, and unloading but once at the dock, if I remember right. Pitch the motor down, then insert the key, turn it one click and it will beep, then turn it again while pressing half way, push the hot foot 2 or 3 times, the turn the key. While its trying to turn over, if needed, feather the hot foot until it starts. How do I know if I flooded it and what do I do if I did. Thanks so much and I greatly appreciate your patience
What was that green box for your electrical management i suppose and were did you source those quick connect wire plug organizers, the gray ones under drivers console.i was thinking should mount a lil higher as well just to keep muddy feet off them.but i did like the three seat concept and cup holder partions!!we need a follow up and fish day.what sbout lighting any upgrades there.?snooky pa.💥🤟👍😜🤪💥
Absolutely love the restoration, but I'm wondering why you didn't pull the fuel cells and power wash the hull to remove all the years of dirt grease and grime out? Not take this wrong, I love what you did, but was just surprised you did't power wash the hull.
Excellent video you showed there, it was really nice. I have done similar to what you did with boats I have had in the past, one a 17.5ft Skeeter Bass Boat. Took it all apart from bow to stern and cleaned or replaced everything I could get my hands on. It was a labor of love, and no real work to me at all , because I enjoyed what I was doing. Sold it many years latter for 4 times what I had in it, it was that nice.
Great job but why a primer color paint job on the trailer, black carpet on the bunks, grey seats and carpets in the boat. Nothing matches the faded gold purplish glitter paint of the boat and trailer fenders. 😯😯
Great job, I have the same boat I have done alot of work to. Can you tell me where you got the new instrument panel from ? You put a lot of hard work into this project.

What model? I'm restoring a cajun right now same color as this ranger
This was literally a “no nut/bolt unturned” rebuild. The wiring was a game seven world series walk off bases loaded home run…
This is like Barrett Jackson quality.

Very useful hint about bottom bolts, have heard about the older transoms rotting out.

Very clean and professional restore! I like the personal flare added as well as the updated electronics! Top notch!

Nice job , a full restoration would include top deck removal . under sub floor you would find water logged spray foam , and rotted wood /stringers
Followed the entire build from the first video, great work and the boat turned out great. Can’t wait to see you guys next project.
just incredible the amount of work you have put into this restoration .... well done
A lot of hard work goes into a restoration. The older bass boats from the 80s look best imho. All going great until you cut up the console...

Great Job 👍👍
Awesome Job, Thanks for sharing. Gave me some great ideas. I just got a older Bass Boat 2 days ago about to start my project.
With al the work you put in. I would have thought about at least wet sanding the top portion of the boat. Bring some of that original color back
