I'm just working jump rope routines into my workout, mostly to help strengthen my bones. Jumping is really beneficial to keeping your bones strong! My Dad was a lightweight pro-boxer in L.A. after WWII, so I understand first-hand the benefits of jump roping! Thanks for your really helpful video, I loved it!Laura
It’s also impact exercise. That is hard on joints. So don’t make it (or jogging) your only exercise. The best thing you can do is rowing machine workouts, and elliptical workouts because it is low impact workouts.
i lovvvve this video because the tricks can be learnt relatively quickly and then its just about getting them fluid and sharp enough to do some freestyle eat a good pace and you make it look awesome at the end mixing it all up! so cool
I found a rope too :) and have been doing 2 sets of 10 mins (as best I can not with missteps) then 2 sets of 3 minutes running in place while working the speed bag. LOVE IT!
At my age and after training too hard for a marathon I now have bad knees, this is a great alternative. I pretty much followed the start of this progression, though skis a few. This is what I was looking for, now that I just learned my 4th trick today I wanted to see what would be next, there are a lot more this what's on this video, but this is perfect for now thanks!!
Yesss!!! I finally learned my first few tricks. I learned jumping jacks, and the high knees. I haven’t tried all of them yet, but this will surely add some more fun into my 30 minute jumping sessions each day. I am still trying to do the double jump one but no luck so far. Thanks cool vid
Where are the tricks though? I tried and for some reason I couldn’t figure it out. That’s why I ended up watching this video. But HELLO what are the tricks or advice on how to stop tripping over the rope? I just watched a video of a men skipping 💁♀️ that’s all I saw
I’ve been doing most of these just by trying things over time but i stalled on new tricks. The crisscross legs, backwards, squat and lunge jumps are going to be added to the repertoire
I find where you just swing the rope from side to side (with both hands) difficult. Maybe it's just my rope or I'm doing something wrong because when I bring it back to jump through it gets tangled up.
Don't hold the handles together when doing it maybe about 6-8 inches apart practice by doing 1 side then jump before both then jump just practice each side till you feel comfortable then do both
I think the jump rope he is using is likely weighted so you can do double unders and the side to side. Regular jump rope isn’t heavy enough so it’ll go all over the place.
Ive started jump rope Four days ago and still going strong💪💪!!! Soo far ive mastered step 1,2,5 and 8 !! Im definately gonna try step 4 and step 10 !! SEEMS FUN !!!
You should do some self-hypnosis Mike Tyson and other great boxers/fighters even Bodybuilders do it an easy way would be to say positive affirmations everyday like "I enjoy working out and have an endless hunger for improvement.."
wow thanks...im just a 39 yr old newbie with the ropes...im just trying to get the basic jump... and crisscross... thats it..oh boy..its really frustrating..i want to make it fast but obviously i couldnt..its frustrating... jumping rope is a test of patience.... haha..im in a subdivision basketball court right now...7am.. so hard.... theres a lot of tricks...this will take years... oh boy...thanks for the vid!
Except for the squats and lunges, I was able to do all of this as a kid. One thing I was never able to master, though, was double dutch. I remember seeing it on Sister, Sister and wanting to learn it so badly
Here you go:
1.double hops
2.hops
3.jumping jacks
4.kriss kross legs
5.alli Shuffle
6.butt kicks
7.high knee
8.left right shift
9.side to side
10.cross rope(kriss kross)
11.double unders
12.squat kross
13.hips kross(Switch)
14.one hand rope
15.backwards ropes
16.freestyle ropes
Thanks Man🙌🙌

Fun and sometimes serious hahaha ruclips.net/user/shortslyCUz7azeWM
*1 minute = I need oxygen.*
breathe while you do that
its common. i need oxygen after 1 min even when breathing too, its common for people not to breathe when jumping.that just means that we are not fit.
Yes, even with years of experience 1 minute of freestyle is hard
ikr! 😂
That is where I started but keep up with it! Promise you will be at that 10 minute marker in no time thinking wait let's go for 20 now.
all i can say is i tried and i would like to say sorry to my dad for hitting him with the rope
😂😂😂

SimplySour yes me too! I got one bad lash on my back from trying this out, but I'll keep trying until I master it!
You have to have precision for that one.
*Hahaha sorry*
SimplySour same. It hurt like my mama's spanks.
Preference on greeny and soft grass
One of the best videos I have seen! I like the progression of jumps. There is no screaming or cursing and the outfit is modest.
That is the most artificial looking cloud that I have ever seen😂😂
It prolly is.
Too much chemtrail
Haha, I've seen worst.
The clouds are paid actors.
Another bug in the simulation.
