Girl, I have a Nigerian name too and I learned, at 17, IF THEY DON’T WANT TO PRONOUNCE IT CORRECTLY, THEY DON’T NEED TO BE IN YO LIFE 🗣🗣
Names have power and Nigerians give you certain names because they have meaning. Tell anyone and everyone you meet “SAY IT FULLY OR GET OUT”
PERIOOODDD
Igbooooo
Gram! Say it loud say clear!!

AMEN!!!!!🇳🇬🇳🇬💯💯💯
Saw a meme that was like (not verbatim): “Dear black girl with the long name, correct them EVERY TIME.” 👏🏾👏🏾
Long name, short name, unique name...CORRECT them everytime! My sister named me, but both my sister and Mother have a cool name that they correct people on. They can get it, don't let em say "I can't say it".
@@queen_j1422 EXACTLY! 👏🏾
That’s me! Correct then every single time. No don’t shorten it, no don’t “give” me a nickname.
@@TheBlacksurfergirl they tried it!
Some of us are tired of correcting them.
"If they can learn how to say 'Tchaikovsky' and 'Michelangelo' and 'Dostoevsky' then they can learn how to say 'Uzoamaka'."

Loooooove this !
I’ve watched that video multiple time. And Uzoamaka’s Mom is right!!!
Ooouuuh I never thought wahouh thank you for that rebuttal
Period.
And I oop!🤭
Rebranding and growth...that’s all. Nothing wrong with that.

Packing hack; instead of wasting plastic trash bags, lay a bed sheet on the floor, place clothes still on the hanger on the sheet. So it’ll be a mountain of clothes on the hanger on top of a sheet. Tie diagonal ends of the sheet together to make “handles” and carry clothes like a duffle bag. When you get to your new place drop that bad boy in the closet untie the sheet and hang your stuff. Wash the sheets and boom! EASY PEASY! My mama taught me this 8 years ago when I was moving from home to college and I still do it! It’s time saving and environmental friendly! Hope this helps someone.
Imma remember this one!!! Thanks 🙏🏿🥰
Yes, I know this trick. It's quite helpful
Ooh smart also better for environment 🙂
i had to re-read this a couple time but that's so smart thanks!
Make a video on this lol
47:00 is where she talks about changing her name. I did a ton of fast forwarding.
Thanks
I got the notification and I was like who tf- but love the new name girlll
Same
Right?! Gotta watch this video!
Is just her real name tho lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
Waitttt intro change too?? Streets really is that song it’s perfect for everything
I be forgetting Isi has a bachelor’s in interior design! SHE HAS SUCH A CREATIVE MIND!
Girl i didn't even know
Your name is yours. Why be like everyone else.
Don't know if you'll see this Isi but it doesn't matter haha; I just wanna say that you're a big inspiration to me, as a young Nigerian woman, and I'm sooo happy for you and Josh!! God bless y'all and your loved ones, and please keep inspiring and positively impacting people's lives :) Beaute Gang got your back!
🥺❤️I really really appreciate that! Thank you😘
I 100% connect with having to grow & love my name. My name is Richunta(Ri-shaun-ta) named after my daddy (Richard) who passed away when I was 9. I always grew up thinking “why yall give me this ghetto behind name” & had to deal with people constantly pronouncing my name wrong, both on accident & on purpose but as I got older I was like “no, I love my name, & Im named after my daddy which is what he wanted” so I get it girl!!! Whew lawd I get it.
It's beautiful Sis.
I love that you are embracing your true self and your name is gorgeous. I hope you give your kids Nigerian names from your time as well. Let them stay connected to their roots. It adds character and also many employers love to see that, it is a conversation starter and a community connector.
I love that you changed your name. Your name is so pretty but I also love when people leave their “stage” name. That’s such a big step to be known as yourself.
Name change, personal growth, new apartment, manager & editor...SHEEEEESSHH the Isimeme Edeko brand is getting the treatment it deserves. This is gonna be her year...again!😋🙌🏽
Moving can be soooo stressful! I totally related to the entire first part of this video and I've done it twice smh. It always gets better! Congrats again on the new place
Hey beautiful princess 👸🏾
I just wanted to say thank you for supporting your fellow mate! That is super awesome 😎 also 💙Your channel is so informative and inspirational.
New name, new intro, new apartment...omgggg😝😝😝😝😝
Will we still be called beaute gang?
Ooo good question I didn’t even think of that
pretty sure she said "good morning beaute gang" in the first part
yeah she said it last video lol , i wondered that too 😅
#namechange ✊🏾✊🏾
She said yes in her empty apartment tour video 😌😁
Yessss embrace your Africanism
I'm Ghanaian and my last name is super African lol I wouldn't change it for the world!
Awww I wish I saw this when I was younger
Tell me about it I’m Ghanaian as well and my last name was a hinderance to my teachers they would pronouns my last name ano key instead of ano chi
@@maryanaking4743 Aw you can still embrace it now xo
@@stephanieanokye7561 Iol omg yes teachers and non Africans struggle with the pronounciations lol like I read your last name with the Ghanaian accent
Aww I’m Ghanaian too and my last name is as well. I absolutely love it and it reminds me of where I’m from🇬🇭
I just want you to know that you are so impactful. As a young black girl, you are so very inspirational. I'm about to graduate high school and seeing you on your hustle and your grind makes me want to do the same. My hair has definitely grown since I followed you last year I think, and my views on self-care and other stuff have changed cause of you. I love all that you are doing and I pray that you take time to love on yourself so that you can continue to do what God has planned for you
I'm here for the growth sis you've come so far God is real and I have so much love for you my virgo sister 😁💕#OG #NewName
So far- the camera panning over while you were mid sentence + you saying “this man and *plants* ” while we briefly see josh, blurred in the distance, holding a 3 foot tall plant like a puppy- I subscribed.
My cheeks hurt from smiling this whole video, watching you beaming and expressing real gratitude for your city and your first place together, for the complementary breakfast from the cafeteria and the package delivery and your mom helping you with your laundry. I think you guys are wonderful and pretty much every single thing you mention, from the remixing of a song you like to an order you placed at ikea to the sweatshirt you’re wearing for the day, is just adore how positive and wonderful and genuinely in love with life y’all are. It’s inspirational to see such beautiful love letters to the new chapter in life that y’all are starting.
I wish you all the best, and GET A PLANT! Get a few! ❤️🧡💛
People really don't care about saying black peoples' names right...like my name is Moriah, super simple, and yet people still say it wrong smh. I love that you changed your name on social media 🙌🏿
Your skin looks so good lil sis. I'm so happy for you and Josh with this new chapter. 🥰🥰
The name situation I completely relate to...growing up everyone called me Kate, but my family always called me by my Igbo name (most people have both an English name and traditional name) so I didn't feel weird or anything but at some point the school found out about my Igbo name during attendance and that feeling of having to constantly explain/pronounce my name was so annoying, that feeling of "embarrassment" was very real, not necessarily because I was ashamed but simply because people tend to be rude or ignorant and constantly going through that is not fun
But as I got older I definitely became more comfortable with pronouncing my name for people...it's funny that you said you struggled with pronouncing your name because I struggled with spelling mine 😭
But overall I find my name to be unique (even among Igbo people) so I'm very grateful for my name and the meaning behind it ❤🙏🏽 even when other's tried to make me feel like I should feel otherwise
If you don't mind me asking, what is your name? You never said.
@@Mahogany.Lights I don't mind lol, I just didn't say because I didn't want the people finding me 😂 if there was a way to comment privately I would tell you 😭
@@Mahogany.Lights but it's Chinemerem
@@kateo. 😭 sorry girl I didnt mean to put you on the spot. But that's a beautiful name🤗
@@Mahogany.Lights lol you're all good love 🥰 thank you! It means: "God does for me" 🙏🏽💕

Isi seems so happy, I feel proud of her for all of the progress!
Anyone else had to pull themselves back in to hold back the tears when she was talking about her name!!! OMG I just love Isi and Josh so inspiring! I’m a little older but I look up to them and where they are and I’m putting the pressure on myself to “boss up” now thank you guys for motivating me everyday and giving me some entertainment and something to look forward to watching!
The view 😩😩😩😩
I knew I was drawn to you for some reason! You’re from Edo state in Nigeria and your name is Esan! We’re from the same village! I love it
Fun fact: My younger sister also has the same name as you it’s beautiful 🙂
And I thought isimeme was either a Port Harcourt or Benue name😬
Where in esan are you from?
@@joanomoregie139 Uromi!
@@hiitshil8305 I have the same name! But it’s with an ‘n’ so it’s Isimemen. I was born and grew up in the UK but my parents are also Esan 😊

Yup!👏🏾 And clothes too!😌
As a fellow Virgo, I have replayed that song multiple times. Like the Virgo part don’t matter, the song is just vibez
As a Virgo, I agree😂
♍️ virgo!! 🙋🏾♀️ and saaaaame it keeps playing over and over in my head lll
Literally obsessed with the song its crazy 😭😂♍
I’m really appreciating you taking us on your growth journey Isi because I’m in my 20’s trying to do the exact same thing 🙌🏾
Isi I felt that 😩 I always pronounced my name wrong for the sake of people who refused to pronounce it right and it really has an impact on oneself because it kinda dilutes the real you 🥲 happy for your name change and I can’t wait for your new content!
I completely feel this. I mean I don’t pronounce my name wrong for other people but when people say it wrong, I don’t correct them because it gets tiring. But I overthink about this so much it’s sad ☹️
I only answer to people who pronounce my name correctly, and I will tell people how it is pronounced and won't accept anything else!
@@fattysl26 I aspire to be like that. I just don’t want to come off as rude when I have to constantly remind people (it gets aggravating). I literally just tell them to call me by my nickname
@@thelatidoshow I hear you and I used to feel that way, but I see it as basic manners that you try and pronounce someone's name properly and if you're not sure then ask. Some people make zero effort and expect you to be fine with it.
@@fattysl26 exactly! I find it crazy when I literally say my name and they pronounce it wrong 2 seconds later like were you not listening or....
Yuppppp because the intro got me saying “never thought I’d find someone like youuuuuu”

Halfrican Beaute - hope you've patented the name? For any future uses.
Maybe she can't trademark it and that's why she changed it 🤔
@@chloejohnson3184 no lol, she said on her Instagram that she just felt like since she was making so many other huge life changes that it was time for her brand to evolve and she wanted to have her real name on her stuff.
Omg I cannot express enough how much I love long videos from my favs 🥰💕
Isi your skin looks airbrushed lol
Literally,It's so clear!
I believe it’s a setting on the camera. Another youtuber I know has a new camera with a “smoothing” effect built into the camera.
she has clear skin
@@dearcierra3 nah, her skin is clear af on instagram live without a filter sooo yeah. She just has smooth skin.
@@thelittleunicorn6196 I definitely wasn't saying her skin ISN'T clear but there is a setting on many new cameras as well. I noticed when josh was filming sometimes too it looked a little blurry around the edges, likely because of that. It wasn't an insult, it is just sometimes oversmoothed in certain lighting hence the camera.
We love the new name showing pride 💕💕
#newname can y’all make a finance vid going into saving for a new place and expenses associated with moving ?
Yes I saw the change on Instagram and I was like wait that is her full name so... but anyways I’m gonna just enjoy this video ❤️❤️❤️💖

Welcome to the city! Enjoy !!! The energy is great in the summer!
I feel like a proud sis watching you get everything you deserve. It's so beautiful seeing your growth after following you and your journey for all these years
My last name is 10 letter and it is a French last name. As a kid I hated it because I got Teased for it in school but as an adult I realized it’s beautiful and there’s only one me!! ...We have that in common. Makes me love you even more sis 🥰 congratulations on the new journey!
I'm so glad you spoke on the feelings we have towards our unique names. I relate SOOO MUCH...I'm actually 10 years older than you though and I'm just feeling the urge to use my real name...Chineze also a Nigerian name.
on the note of your vivienne westwood inspired piece - she is an excellent designer. She is well-known for her *excellent* corsets that you can purchase on sites like Depop, the Real Real, etc. if you ever want to get into that trend!! There are some very lovely inspired by corsets you can find, but she is definitely one of those designers I recommend purchasing an original if you're able! (alot of them are actually upcycled from her gowns from the 80s/90s. Very cool pieces of fashion history).
#newname Please never get over that view! It’s beautiful!!!! Many congratulations once again! It feels like we are all winning! Gizzards are life except for their high cholesterol content lol but I don’t care! Favorite: fried and chopped up and mixed with plantain!
