    I bought a checked blazer last year at Walmart after returning all the sale blazers from the Nordstrom sale. This blazer fit better than all the expensive blazers. I now will be using my Walmart blazer with more outfits.

    Jamie, you have become a must watch video for me. I am in my late 60's. My core wardrobe words are Classic, Current, and Comforting (all clothes should be comfortable, and I have a big personalitythatcan make the classics I love overwhelming to others). Your point of view really helps me keep my lifelong passion for classic clothes current and relaxed, which in my career as a pastor keeps me Comforting in my caring one-on-one work.

    glad you like to style all types of outfits with shorts! you look great in them. I love wearing shorts too. I think I know what you mean about being between a petite and regular size when it comes to pant length, even though you are within the range of petite sizing. It's the length of your legs. I'm similar and can never decide between regular or petite if I had to decide which fits better.

    Good morning from London lovely Jamie. I like your blazer very much but it doesn't fit well around the shoulders, maybe move the shoulder pad so it fits a little bit better and there's no crease/excess material, it'll be worth the alteration cost. I love it when you wear mid or darker wash jeans, the light wash ones are lovely but a bit too summery and they always look more casual than the darker washes. I hope I am not causing any offence but I'd love to see you wear different glasses, older-style frames can be ageing. I bought some gorgeous frames for my prescription lenses from Moscot, their Tummel frame (sadly sold out now), but they have other lovely ones, it's good to refresh our glasses from time to time. I also have some Ralph Lauren sunglasses frames which I've put my prescription lenses in, I've had them for 15 years and they still look amazing and timeless. For everyone who needs to wear glasses it can make such a difference to find the perfect frame that is classic and modern too. Sending you love and thanks for what you do, you look gorgeous x

    My favorite was the blazer with the black Pantsuit. That was elegant and could be worn to church or work. I have a black blazer that's very comfortable that I never wear. I'm not a blazer girl but I'm not ready to declutter it. I tried it on recently and I think the problem is the sleeves are a little too long. I definitely don't want to pay to have it tailored. Do you think other people notice when the sleeves are too long?

    • @GladBurgio
      @GladBurgio 9 месяцев назад +1

      Amazon has elastics especially for keeping long sleeves up.

      @@GladBurgio Thank you! I'll check those out

    • @YourGuideToStyle
      @YourGuideToStyle  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! You can use hair bands to hold the sleeve up a bit. I have a video where I talk about that and I should have talked about it again. You can put a band or tie around the sleeve and pull the band up above the elbow and pull the sleeve up through the band where you want it to end on your arm and just loosen the material to cover the band. It works great. But I don't think most people notice stuff like that if it's not too long.

      Or the Amazon elastics suggested by @GladBurgio would work!😀

    I have a new blazer in bright white that I love. It’s so versatile. My issue with it is that it has shoulder pads. I feel like I look like something out of the 80s!!!!! Help??? Is it in style now or should I remove the shoulder pads??

    • @suzib2544
      @suzib2544 9 месяцев назад

      If your shoulders are naturally square (as opposed to droopy) you probably don't need them or you could try a smaller shoulder pad

    • @YourGuideToStyle
      @YourGuideToStyle  9 месяцев назад

      The shoulder pads are actually on trend right now, but it just depends on if you like it or not. If you have small shoulders, it can help create balance.

    • @luluandmeow
      @luluandmeow 9 месяцев назад

      I would keep them if the blazer is quite sharp (as opposed to very floppy and relaxed) but make sure they're not too big and they need to fit perfectly around your shoulders

    I have put on weight the last few years going through menopause. Some of my blazers still fit me, but I would not be able to comfortably button them. Is it ok if the blazer is just slightly small? or do I need to size up? I feel like I have seen models with blazers that don't look like they could be closed...

  • @kimberlyperrotis8962
    @kimberlyperrotis8962 9 месяцев назад +1

    Nice, but I don’t think your blazer fits very well. It shouldn’t have those creases from the underarm area to the base of the neck, it just looks much too wide in the shoulders. Can you exchange it for a smaller size? My sympathies, I get the same problem, everything seems cut for enormously wide shoulders these days! I would wear the black leather shorts outfit with black tights and my Weizmann black suede thigh-high boots to stay warm. I love blazers so much, I wore one yesterday for the first time this year when we had a mild day, over my Sezane cotton/wool Naelle knit skirt set. I will always have a good selection of blazers in my wardrobe, in wool for cool weather and linen for hot. I always feel great in them, structure is a gal’s best friend. Plus, denim or utility jackets aren’t really my style.❤

  • @reneeburich9497

    I can’t stand wearing long sleeves, much less a sweater or hoodie under a blazer. There’s no room, it’s uncomfortable and too hot!

    I wrote a few times back in December and asked questions but you ignored my question. I am a senior citizen and just think it is good manners to reply.
    I guess you are too busy, have a family and editing your videos. I guess you have no time or care about senior citizens (unless it is your own family),( but if not your family) and someone old and over 65 maybe don't matter, and not in your league or consider them on equal status. You seem like a nice person but wish you would realize that some people don't live in a beautiful home or have very much money and it would be nice if you would at least take time to respond. I don't even own a car or have a Smartphone as I cannot afford them. I take buses, do you ever take the bus or drive a nice car? I cannot afford the clothes you show as they are just too expensive. They are very nice of course but social security does not go very far. Try living on only your own social security and no spouse or family to help. I don't own a house, rent in a super tiny apt. Not even a one bedroom.
    Thank you, in Michigan.
    Just thought I'd watch to get some styling ideas. Never see these kind of clothes at the thrift store though,, that I take two buses to get to. The clothes at the thrift store (the ones closest to me anyway) look nothing like what you show on your video, so I usually look like a ragamuffin, clothes are clean but not anything new, all old or a little torn.

      Hi Suzanne. I am so very sorry I did not reply to your comments. Life just gets in the way sometimes. I really do try to answer as much as I can. I have not way of knowing what age people are that watch my channel and I have nothing against senior citizens. It was just a failure on my end to answer your question due to time and other things going on in my life at that time. I will go back and find them and answer them for you. I love that you watch for styling ideas and hopefully you can apply them to things that you find. It does not matter the things we have it's what we do with what we have that matters. I am grateful for all I have and hope that you are too. Thanks for watching.
