From what you showed here, my favourite is probably the Lancia. Wedge-shape was already well-established, but it was a game-breaker still, another stroke of genius of Gandini. Unfortunately, my all-time favourites are not here; 1) Carabo, 2) Marzal and 3) Stratos. No adjectives exist to describe the earthquake that was the Carabo in 1968 (I was 15 at the time). "Carabo" ? Yes a car named after a bug... With the metallic green of a bug, with the winglets of a bug, with the staircase belly of a bug. Gandini had an idea and went all the way till the end with it, never deviating. All-time very top masterpiece of car design, never equaled by anyone (even if Giugiaro sometimes came close; Iguana - Boomerang). Anyway, I do appreciate the visit. Thanks a million!
Thanks for your interesting comment. Now you made me go and find out where these cars are located nowadays. The Marzal and Stratos Zero seems to be in private ownership, so difficult to visit. The Carabo seems to be in Arese Alfa Romeo Museum though, so I will try to go there and make a video this year. Stay tuned!
@@narratedtraveladventures Yes, the Carabo is in the ARM next to the Iguana of Giugiaro. There could be an entire museum of the variations on an Alfa-Romeo 33 theme... Another idea for a video?
Lancia Stratos a favorite also for me. Checking out the WRC Sweden competitions in the mid 70-ties me and friends waited for the Stratos evening arrival to “our” speed-area in the Värmland forests. You could follow the Stratos sound several kilometers before the wedge-shaped car passed in a couple of seconds. Spectators were cheering, waiving flags and applauded before shuffle along back to bonfires, grilled sausages and beers to withstand the often very cold evenings.
Many legendary Bertone designs! Our county sports cars club arranged a show in a basement parking 1967. I had a fresh driving license and showed my own built kit car Mini-Jem. We showed 30-35 sports car models without ranking, quite a good spectrum. Close to my Mini-Jem was a breathtaking Lamborghini Miura! which naturally became the star of the show. The first and only time I have seen and heard a Miura and that memory is very clear also today.
I've owned several Bertone cars over the years: ALFA GTV2000, Ferrari 308GT4 and Lamborghini Countach 5000QV and I loved them all. Thanks for this video, I really appreciate it.
I love them all, and although I think that the Miura is the most beautiful, my overall and all-time favorite is the Carabo. It is still so sexy and futuristic after nearly 57 years!
The Miura, Stratos and Countach ard well known favorites and for good reason, but purely from a design point of view i think the Citroen GS Camargue is a stunning looking thing, very understated.
Great video. Bertone and Pininfarina are the two titans of automotive design, very glad that the Italian government had the foresight to keep this collection together. Too bad the Stratos Zero got away before this happened. The list of epic Bertone designs is long and distinguished, but two of my favorites not shown here are the Alfa Romeo B.A.T. Series (three cars actually, the 5, 7, & 9 - which I believe are also in private hands) and Lamborghini Bravo. Also, Miura was actually not the first rear mid-engine production car. That honor goes to the little known Rene Bonnet (later Matra) Djet: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matra_Djet
Thanks for watching! Have a look at my video from The World's Greatest Bugatti collection next 🤠: ruclips.net/video/KXXqj9QH_3s/видео.html

I will look into that. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for your comments! That's some really amazing cars that you have owned.
The x1/9 was also made by Bertone,a Ghandi design.Probaly their highest produced car.
Owned one of the first in the US. Couldn’t afford a Muira.
FIAT used the Autobianchi Runabout (as seen in the video) as the basis for the X1/9. 😉
Amazing video!
Thanks! 👍👍
I have a Volvo 780 Bertone, it's neat and affordable.
It's a nice classic Volvo design! A beauty.
Lotus Emotion is my favorite, yellow!!
super cool

Thanks for you comment! There will be a video featuring the Carabo later this year. Stay tuned! ☺️

Really I missed one of my favourites of that jewells....... the Lancia Kayak
I love the early 60's Alfa Romeos, but still haven't acquired a taste for the Montreal.
For sure the early 60s Alfa's are more elegant than the Montreal. Montreal looks more aggressive.
