I'm so glad you and Livie and everyone is safe! I discovered that I like dehydrated, thinly sliced zucchini and summer squash. Its so handy for throwing into soup, stew, casseroles. I might try dehydrating them shredded to see how they would do in bread, muffins, cake, and cookies. I just don't care for them canned. I only had 4 children, but never had a dishwasher until they were bigger. We've gone through 2 of them, and the second one died a year and a half ago. I decided not to replace it. Since we're down to just me and Hubby, it's no problem to wash them by hand.
Small families have their benefits! I need to dehydrate some too!

Girl I hate that happened with the weather. I know what you are dealing with. I’m not far from you and we have been having the same weather. We had our plum tree uprooted and one of our peach trees broke off. Numerous fruit blown off our trees. Just thankful God protected y’all.

I'm sure your littlest one had fun being alone with you to work the farm. Im sure she felt like a big girl. Your squash was so beautiful. I had a vegetable garden for about a decade & never had a year that it wasn't the best meaning it always produce the most out of every vegetable. I always had about 20 different types & seem like I picked it every day, that in cucumbers LOL.I know when your husband was doing his video today they were working I could hear the sawing. Growing up, we were a family of 6.. & grew our own food, especially to tide us thru the 8 months that not much grows in northern Ontario, Canada .. a very long time ago..

& the girls will get to be stronger helpers soon enough.. just need a few more birthdays (going on my memory of when I truly was HELPful.. lol.. as a teen..). & Look at your oldest.. cuz really, he's truly not that old ~ but he sure Is a Lot of help to u both & the farm..

I use dawn dishwashing liquid and water for my fruit trees and gardens to keep the bugs off them. It works!

Just finished watching and so sorry to see the pig barn. I squirm when we get windy weather due to my trees in the yard for fear of one falling. Glad that no one got hurt. I love to munch out on cucumbers as sprinkle apple sider vinegar on them. Enjoyed watching. Thank you!!!

Wow. I'm sorry about the barn but glad the pigs are okay. Your garden areas look great. Loved seeing the mama with the biddies. Always enjoy seeing the little ones. Hopefully, your new dishwasher will come quickly. I know having to handwash dishes adds to the work. There are only two of us, and sometimes it takes three dish drain loads to do them all. (My own fault for being a messy cook.) Our dishwasher stopped working the first year we had it, and we've just handwashed ever since. But with a family the size of yours with all that you do, a dishwasher is really a must. God bless you all.

Squash chips... dehydrate or bake with seasoning... eat them with sandwiches... or put them in soups.

Glad you all are okay. That is so frightening. I know, it happened to me. Lightening stikes are so loud. I am assuming that is what you meant, or maybe it was just wind. Very scary, either way. Those cucumbers look so delicious. You cannot buy them in the stores out here. They are kind of soft already most of the time and just no flavor. Livie spoke her mind, she said "I pull up" it was so cute! Sorry about your barn. Just thankful no one was hurt.

Glad everyone is safe and wasn’t in the barn when it happened barns can be replaced God was watching over ya’s and I hear ya on the dishwasher mine is also broke and doing dishes by hand when you have so much other stuff to do I hate to go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink and we have had storms her in Pa tornado hits a couple times alot of downed trees and I had a branch go threw my one shed frustrating at times but gotta keep moving on your gardens look great as usual we just started ours here last weekend my favorite time of year ❤

They get time out form the kennel - they cannot roam - their joy comes in working while they are out - and the kids play with them during the day too
