- The famous statue of Phra Phrom - the god of good fortune and protection in Thailand - at Golden Mile Complex has vacated its shrine of more than two decades. Also known in Singapore as the four-faced Buddha, the statue was relocated to Leong San See Temple in Race Course Road.

Phra Phrom is the Brahma, who is a being in deva realm and is not the Lord Buddha. The only Lord Buddha in this samsaric realm is Gotama Buddha. 🙏

The statue is Lord Brahma, one of the 3 main Hindu Gods (Vishnu, Krishna, Brahma). He is the God of creation, manifestation and gifts. People worship him to ask for things.

As a mixed thai and living singapore since small golden mile was the place where my mom just go gets a her boxes of groceries each month but now getting groceries is gonna be tough the supermarket is located at one building while the minimart my mom is friends with the owner is at another building 😢 just to get my daily food necessities I gotta run to many places . Lord Buddha does not have 4 faces - it is prime feature of the Hindu Creator God of the Universe, Lord Brahmha. Many Buddhist temples in Laos and Cambodia also have ancient statues of Lord Brahmha with 4 faces facing the 4 primary directions.

We call the deity four face buddha in sg because alot of the Chinese people who pray call Brahma 四面佛祖 or in literally translation the four-faced Lord buddha

they all got it wrong. that is not a Buddha statue. that is a Hindu god. its shame that those monks don't even know that is a Hindu god.
They know Lord Brahma is from Brahmanism, most ppl mistakenly refer Him to Four Faced Buddha, so for convenient purposes the monks just go with the name. The monks are definitely knowledgeable in this aspect.

@@khokl9288 well the bible does mention about the practise of tithing in malachi 3:10 (NIV) "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." And tithing by definition is the practise of giving a tithe. A tithe is defined as a tenth aka 10% of total annual produce or earnings. If you mean whether christians are commanded to tithe then in leviticus 27:30-34 (NIV) “ ‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. Whoever would redeem any of their tithe must add a fifth of the value to it. Every tithe of the herd and flock-every tenth animal that passes under the shepherd’s rod-will be holy to the Lord. No one may pick out the good from the bad or make any substitution. If anyone does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute become holy and cannot be redeemed.’ ” These are the commands the Lord gave Moses at Mount Sinai for the Israelites." TL:DR for these verses they just mean christians are indeed commanded to give 10% of their earnings. Although the verses do specify what ever produce (crops or livestock) they tithed is considered holy to God and thus they must use treat it as such and shouldn't try to use another item to substitute what must be given regardless if the produce is a good or bad one. Just stating some facts. If u dont wanna read through all that thats fine, just move on with your day :)
