- “The Pakistani troops rained bullets on me, but I didn't move. At that moment, I knew that as long as they didn't shoot my head or my heart, I would survive. They could cut off my legs and my arms, but I wouldn’t say a word. I decided-I would live, and I would fight. Today, if you pricked me with a needle, I would feel unbearable pain, but at that time, as I was shot again and again, I felt no pain, just determination to keep going."
At just 19, Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav became the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient for his insurmountable bravery in the Kargil War. He was shot 17 times, tortured inhumanely and taken for dead by the Pakistani Army. But through sheer resilience and devotion to his country, he kept up the fight and became the sole survivor of Tiger Hill.

Okay bro, I just wanted to know what's the Pakistani terrorist ideology. what did actually they wanted to proof by harming even your own country forget India. Felt faint yesterday at the sight of blood after peeling my finger with a potato peeler along with the potato so just lost a big chunk of self respect today after watching this. Spell bound and humbled sir. Will watch again and attempt to be a civilian worthy of protection, worthy of a nineteen year old boy open to giving up his life for a country I share with him so that I can exist in safety far from the enemy at my borders. Will remember your teachings sir and will never see a five rupee coin as too worthless or any job as too menial...and yes...the positivity factor...will try to inculcate that in every aspect of life along with sound morals and ethics. Amazing person! What a hero. Rarely - will any podcast or interview have the holder of the rarest of rare military honors- the maroon ribbon holding the Param Vir Chakra - which itself is forged by artillery shell fragments from battlefields where Indian soldiers have fought wars for the past 2 centuries. Capt. Yogendra Singh Yadav is also a fantastic speaker, and chooses his words very well.....almost reminded me of Vajpayee's oration in Hindi.
