I really like this as well. I've been using it for quite awhile. I use it for wheel wells, tires, and wheels. It breaks down caked on grime and dirt in wheel wells like nobody's business, hit 'em with a pressure washer afterwards and they clean up nicely. I like Zep purple over Zep orange, the purple seems to work faster.
Keep it out of the alternator! The cleaner is highly conductive. I shorted out a '96 Saturn alt. Might have been alright if I could have reached and thoroughly rinsed.
The best way to clean engine and faster is with the pressure washer and another tip, cover de battery cover the alternator and any electrical connectors because you can cause damage
Hello, Scott! I saw today that Zep now makes a foamer version of this degreaser in an aerosol can. (I know you love the foaming aerosol cleaners ...I do too.) Think you could try it out and review it? I'd love to see a video on it, especially in an engine bay.
Yes, you can get it at Home Depot and Lowe's. Zep also puts out a degreaser called Fast 505 that I've tried a lil bit works good as well. All the Zep products I've tried have been great. Once you get out of the mindset that "name brand" is the best, you can discover some great products that are cheaper and just as good or better.
Good to know that it strips latex paint, my father for some odd reason coated his concrete patio with latex paint and it just puddles when it’s raining, it was a painful when I slipped while it was raining
Yep, I love Zep. The ZEP Orange HD degreaser is mostly what I use. pretty much my go to APC as I've cleaned everything with it with different dilutions. I've heard good things about this and 505.
Gordon Loving ..im so glad you mentioned the Orange degreaser..Gordon does it work well with interior plastics and carpet? . i have been looking at it and haven't pulled the trigger
I love it. Carpet was a 4:1 and usually 10:1 on everything else interior. Smells good too and I don't worry about eating through or staining like I am some chemicals
I know it is easy for you to measure out 5 to 1, 4 to 1, and the advantage to buying by the gallon to save money is very important for a business. Is 5 to 1, or 4 to 1 really strong enough to use. It is easier for me to just put 4 to 1 with all my cleaning products too just keep it simple for me. When mixing your cleaning products, how do keep it simple and still take advantage of buying by the gallon. I guess what I'm asking is with your experience, what is the easiest way, and most efficient way to mix bottles
Hi Scott......If you use a entry level pressure washer its not really that strong and throws a lot less water on the motor....and blows off more dirt and grime nicely. I am a bit hesitant to spray gallons of water on the motor. You never had any issues with free flowing hose water???
Hello Scott, love your videos. Thank you for the tips for both the Zep degreaser and Purple Power. I have been using a janitorial store brand degreaser for engines. The product works well and cost about 20$ per gallon. When I am done with my current gallon I will give this one a try. For tires I use Meguiar's APC diluted 4:1 and add a little bit of dawn to get a lot of foam. Been working well but it's pretty expensive because of shipping to Canada, looking at around 35$ per gallon when all is said and done. So buying Purple Power locally would be great. Thanks again!
Hey from Ireland what do u find is best for cleaning very dirty seats . Wish could get some that stuff u have for 5 litters here it coast 50 euro for a .apc .
Scott, Have you ever used the Zep Commercial Citrus Cleaner? Instead of Citrocil? It seems that its significantly cheaper than the Citrocil. And looks to be about the same chemical makeup.
Where does this fall in terms of grease cutting and cleaning power compared to the zep all purpose, zep citrus degreaser, and super clean that you're a huge fan of? Is this stronger than super clean that you don't use it on the interior? Zep purple is probably too powerful and reserved just for engine bays and cleaning driveways I imagine.
yes i would only use this for really bad engine cleaning or undercarriage cleaning...super clean is my first pick:)...i wouldn't use this zep cleaner inside a vehicle and i use it a lot for industrial applications...hope that helps with your question:)
U want some good stuff try some B52 Brown soap. Im captain of a tugboat and we use it out here and i use it at my house on my engine. Best degreaser ever
This is an extremely aggressive degreaser. I used this to clean tires at 5 to 1 ONCE. It completely oxidized the clear coat on my oem wheels. Would never recomend using this on a vehicle.
cool..i just use it on engine bays if they are really bad or for undercarriage cleaning...i have never used it around wheels..sorry you had a bad experience..thanks for your comment
Your voice sounds like that of Howard Stern. Thanks for the video. I got this for my bicycle chains.
Hahaha it does!

Zep purple is super strong. Dissolves rust! This formula is so strong. Wear gloves and don’t use it on aluminum. Amazing stuff.

Hey Scott, this stuff will stain bare aluminum. But very powerful degreaser and very good if used right.

I love zep products, i saw you made a video about a cheap website to order detailing products but now i cant find it again??
Scott, you ever have a problem with alternator failure or problems with electrical from hosing down the engine compartment?

Scott, can you make a video on all of the products in your detailing lineup? Thanks.

in canada you can buy it at homedepot among others, $13
I'm in Canada too I'm going to try zep as well. I have been using simply green as a apc but I find it streaks a lot on interiors
Walmart carries as well for anyone looking.

its not the same and yes i have tried zep and it can't compare to citrol to remove bugs, tar and paint transfer off the car:)
"zep" "mixed" with "paint thinner" what happens?

Better than Super Clean?
This product is pretty good but I much prefer Rolling Sabbath. I think it's made by Mickozzbourne Cleaning Co.
Can you use it without diluting it?
Have you tested Grand Slam by 3D Car Care? That is also an industrial grade cleaner.
i have not tested 3d grand slam but i hear it works well..but thanks for the tip..im a big fan of 3d products...thanks for your comment and support
Thanks for sharing, bro.
I cant believe nobody noticed the large spark at 7:32
I can't believe you can't tell the difference between a big bug flying by vs a spark...
You're so silly
That wasn't a bug. You didn't spray the alternator but when u hit it, it lit up my friend.
LOL that was definitely not a spark
YOU SPRAYED THE ALTERNATOR!!!!
Is it OK for aluminium?
Ideally no but I still use it anyways, doesn’t do damage just make sure to thoroughly wash it, if you leave it there will be a lot of residue
Love zep products
Amazing
Do not soak metal parts in this stuff. It will eat through it.
Agreed
Thank You
no problem Jeff..much love my friend:)
can this work to clean concrete residue from brick?
Yes

i will look into it..thanks for the tip:)
