  • This was my second time snorkeling at the Keys. We started of the John Pennekamp Beach, which is famous for a shipwreck , which sank there a couple of hundred years ago. By boat we came to the undersea park, which features approximately 178 nautical square miles of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps. There is possibly every fish species which exist in whole Florida, but i din`t consider sharks, because we were going out there in the afternoon and there have already been many ships before us. First of all I checkt out the Christ of the Abyss statue, which was imported from Italy and set up at this spot in 1962. After a while snorkeling around, I went further and further away from the group and suddenly there was he, a bull shark. This was my second contact with a shark, and again he impressed me. Sharks are so great, this one was like 10 feet /3,5m, but even so they can move so quickly or attack you. I hope you enjoyed my video; like and subscribe and have a nice day!

    good vid, not a bull, the nurse was sleeping. There was an awful lot of bleaching.

    Look at all the bleached coral...

    • @Vothtrucks
      @Vothtrucks 4 года назад +1

      That is a sad state for coral but in this particular area the many visitors stir up the silt ( which is gray-white ) and it settles on the coral making it appear bleached. Of course that too may kill the coral.

      only the whitebalance, as you can see in the video, is a little bit too extreme..

    • @rymccoy
      @rymccoy 7 лет назад +10

      Yeah they look somewhat similar, but the black markings on a reef sharks tail are more defined. Bull sharks also have much much bulkier bodies. Also, I wouldn't recommend snorkeling with bull sharks, they arent afraid of shit and can be randomly aggressive.

    I think that's a Caribbean reef shark. Bull sharks have much thicker broader bodies.
