The ackee pods has to open wide before you pick them from the tree.

Dee,Thank you for showing your travels and experiences around Jamaica. Many years I brought my wife and we didn't have to pay .People were cooking fish that just come in from the sea. My wife said that it was the best food she ever had. Thanks for your vlog.
Hi Dee this is the western world nothing is cheap. People also get more pay in Jamaica than in Kenya. I am in Canada and the price is going up each day. The whole world prices is going up.
Also Dee when people work they get more pay than Kenya. And you should compare Kenya city with Jamaican city. And Kenya village with Jamaica country side.

Next time you can put some lime juice (using real lime) in the salt fish while it's boiling to cut out the salt. Doing a great job Dee 🙂
She could also pour some vinegar in the water whilst boiling that will take the salt out as well.

Hi Dee, I just love the way you're showing so much love for Jamaica the land we love 🇯🇲 and the culture. You have such a nice personality, like your brother Marwa. I love both of you. You did fantastic with cooking your first Ackee/saltfish with dumplings. However, I would like to make a correction, the brown bits in the Ackee we don't eat it but it is not poisonous. You should not consume the Ackee if it is not fully open on the tree, that is poisonous because of the gas the fruit produces. You take care and keep loving Jamaica 🇯🇲❤️❤❤
Dee, there is another beach next to Helshire beach that is much more beautiful, also, you should try Taste Patty., their patties are much better than juice beef. Tastee Patty is the original Jamaican patty.

Everything has changed. Only a few years ago, like 4 to 5 going and parking at the beach were free. In fact, I used to go to the area between Fort Clarence and Hellshire swimming from there and back. I do understand the reason as maintenance of the beach is so important. Back in earlier days the beach was much wider with a lot of coral reefs as well as being quiet in certain areas. Enough said, I'm happy you're enjoying my island home. There are so many areas to enjoy in Jamaica, the rivers and the mineral spas (Hot as in St. Thomas and Cool as in Rockfort Kingston and Clarendon) there may be more as in St. Andrew and rest of Parishes. You need to go to the maroon villages or to any selected village of the rural communities, or a hike to the blue mountains if adventurous to feel other vibes of our island home. Big up Kino for connecting and giving you so much experience, just wonderful to see. One love❤

Dee next time sprinkler a little black pepper on the ackee when you prepare it again , it brings out the flavour of the ackee.
Yum Yum!! Eating this dish right now at home. Make jewelry out of the akee seeds and use them as gifts for friends when u return home. Wrap and connect them with thin wire. Avoid piercing them so that they can be planted later if u so desire. Learn ALL that u can on how to safely harvest them if u decide to plant them. Ask Kino to find someone on his Dream Team who can make the jewelry for
you. They can make more to sell to support their mission.

Dee if you like it, you could take a couple cans home,also the salt or cod fish. It is considered poisonous if used when it is not opened. You must see all the seeds from the pads.
Dee, next time please include garlic, pepper, escallion and tomato. Those ingredients are a must.
The garlic and escallion (because you have the onion) not necessary, but tomato should have been added to give it color. Ackee is light, so if it's over seasoned it will give heartburn.
